Dorms
North Morlan: old, rundown and for me and a lot of previous residents, was an awesome place to stay. You really get to know the community around you. Apartment styled but still a dorm.
Pralle/Henley: basically the same, slightly newer and more of the traditional dorm style.
Glass: you have to be really lucky to get this but probably the nicest place for a freshman to end up but you would probably be excluded from your friends.
Food
For a college caf, its pretty good. All you can eat and includes these stations:
American
Euro
Random
asian
italian
salad/soup/sandwiches
Classes
I could recommend a few GE courses and such but what you have to take for you major during the semester is more important.
As a dodge student, invest in a bike or skateboard to go there. However, if you have the time, the walk isn't too bad. Don't drive there, real waste of gas.
Use this when picking classes: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=207 It will be your best friend when registration comes up
Classes usually aren't too strenuous if you keep up with the work but a lot of people usually end up putting it off until the last second, because, its college man.
Need any other help/pointers you can just PM me on Reddit. I'm a sophomore right now and a mod for this subreddit. Enjoy orientation, its as fun as you want to make it. Go to every event if you can and make friends, it makes living on campus feel like home.
What is your major? You should try to go with the classes your major recommends and then fill out the rest of your schedule with GEs. Also, this is a super helpful tool: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=207
