The board is not hotswap. For one, the sockets would raise the profile. Also, I have a hotswap Corne and when I travel with it, sometimes the keys fall out! I want this new board to be both lighter and more durable for traveling with. It's both and I'm happy enough the brown switches.
I'll note that it's MUCH harder to open the switches once they are hard-wired into the PCB. If you want to lube the switches, do that before you solder them in!
You can do a few things, you can buy one of these small microbrushes and scrape a bit of the copper where the pad is extending, then solder a wire from the exposed bit to the LED (make sure you solder the LED on first).
All a PCB is just wires in the end, so it won't really fry the board unless you use some insane low gauge wire. pm me if you need details :)
For those curious, I went with a JOMKIZ kit from amazon. One of the cheapest options with several options for 1.5u thumb buttons.
Xda profile as suggested, thanks everyone!
Just use a 0.5cm length of *solid core* wire like this:
The keyboard has been out of use to get a short repaired for a while.
The foam I used was 6x6x1/8” neoprene squares from Amazon with adhesive back:
Thanks a lot for the designs! I went ahead and ordered 3d prints for both cases.
Just some questions (since I'm new to this) to avoid buying the wrong inserts/screws:
Your are supposed to use heat-set inserts, where you use a soldering tip (like these) to get them into the holes?
Are the measurements correct for 4mm M2 inserts? Where can you get M2 5mm inserts? I only found lengths of 4mm or shorter.
Thanks in advance!
Some DIY, I bought a arm like this and epoxied it to corne backplate.
I think I'm gonna build one like this too. I bought this for my galaxy fold 3, and it's great because I can fit it on any pocket, but it makes me slow and it's very unpleasant to code on it.

corne is my first ergo and i wasnt sure if i was gonna like tenting or not so i went with these
Somebody posted this a while back. Its a GPS carrying case in the correct dimensions. Haven't pulled this trigger on it myself though
I have a choc lp corne. Have been using this case for a while and it's perfect! If you have an mx corne it should also fit well imo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WFAQNWM/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_5M7ZGHEEKW6V4CEV99BD
I've actually searched for some hard shell type case, but its for hard drives. I'm not too sure if its the right size for it as I haven't bought it yet.
something like this
If you do get something that works please do let us know.
Yes that's essentially the idea, but the particular product you listed is just a charging cable. It has a + and - connection for power transfer, but lacks the other two pins of USB needed for data transfer. I use the 6 foot variant of https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07JYZF92F/ and personally love it, but have not been 100% satisfied with the durability. (one of the connectors failed, which in turn damaged one of the cables...) I don't technically recommend it. Essentially you need to make sure the product you choose mentions "data transfer" as one of the features, otherwise the keyboard won't be able to do anything but draw power from your computer. The different products also vary in their rated max amperage, but no keyboard is going to exceed even 1 amp at 5 volts.
This one worked for me (corne classic)
