This is great! My name is Eliisa and I am the Social Media Coordinator at Cronometer. I forwarded your comment onto our Development Team, I am sure they loved reading it! I also got the goods for you from one of them :) "So the web site is coded in Java using Google's GWT framework (http://www.gwtproject.org/). Although it isn't the newest technology it is super quick and allows us to write most of our code in Java that is then translated and deployed as Javascript."
Thanks for the comment! :)
The data on the packaging is the least reliable source. Cronometer lists foods from a number of sources. Might be worthwhile using those...
Hi there!
My name is Eliisa and I am the Social Media Coordinator here!
I just wrote a blog about a few things that new users should find helpful: https://cronometer.com/blog/cronometer-tips-tricks/
If you have any questions you can ask me here (I check Reddit daily) or message any of our team members at [email protected] and we would be delighted to help there too!
Welcome aboard and happy new year!
Hi there!
This is a bug - in our most recent update we don't have the option to turn it back on on mobile. Can you please log on to the website (cronometer.com) and go to Settings > Display to turn it on.
Let me know if you need more assistance with this and I would be happy to help!
Hi there!
A commenter definitely hit the nail on the head with this, but I thought that I should reiterate!

The best way to use Cronometer is to perform text-based searches for whole foods and use the generic listings available from the NCCDB database. If you're using branded versions they will only have the information available on the packaging. So, it's always best to access the NCCDB options where available.
This blog would be super beneficial for you: https://cronometer.com/blog/6-tips-getting-nutrition-data/
Let me know if you have any further questions! I am always here, ready to help!
Shoot, I know that you asked the other person what scale they use but I'll link you to the one that I use:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXXBQWD/
I'm a greedy person, if you're going to back or make a scale then something like this would grab my attention! I would like it if the left side could record grams to the tenths place of possible. The one on the right can keep the hundredths place, but getting the weight capacity up to 1kg would make measuring spices and seasonings a lot easier!
I know that would make the price go up, maybe back scales at multiple customer levels? I'd go for the high-end one if it could do that, especially if got a larger main plate.
Hi friend!
I think we just did exactly that with our new food search: https://cronometer.com/blog/food-search-updated/
You can now sort by Alphabetical A-Z and Z-A, Most Recent and Most Frequent!
You can also sort by categories; All, Favourites, Supplements, Brands, Restaurant and Custom.
AND database; NCCDB, USDA, CNF, IFCDB, CRDB
I hope this helps! Let me know if it doesn't!

>I want to have a chicken tikka masala for dinner. I cant remember if ive added that recipe. I search for chicken put cant find it, so I need to create it. Turns out that I already had it in my recipe database, but it was named 'tikka masala'. If where able to filter for 'chicken' i would have found all my recipes including chicken and found the recipe.
But you would have been able to find it if you had searched for "tikka masala," which you probably would if you really wanted chicken tikka masala for dinner.
>I have minced meat in my fridge. I go to my food log, open my Dinner meal group and want to see all my dinner recipes, and then be able to set a filter for only recipes containing minced meat. Why? Because I want to use it as a tool to help me decide what I want to cook for dinner.
Honestly, I don't think this is the purpose of Cronometer. For straight-up recipe organization, I started using Bear to organize recipes using one or more hashtags, which can then be searched.
On the other hand, having the Cronometer Oracle suggest you recipes from your own recipes that would help meet your micronutrient goals for the day when you don't know what you want could be helpful.
