Hang in there, it WILL get better. I didnt have general anesthesia, but Ive known people who have and from talking to them I suspect it makes recovery a lot worse. I dont know if its because they can be a lot rougher when removing the teeth or side effect of the anesthesia itself.
Thing to remember is that there WILL be a end to your current misery. Your mouth will absolutely heal. Listen to your Dr of course, but I know in my case they were a little too aggressive in insisting I wear that denture too soon. I kept it in the first 24 hours, then after it came out, it really didnt go in much for almost 3 weeks, because my gums were in such bad shape. I decided to just let it all heal and calm down instead of stressing over it. Glad I did. Im 4 weeks in and just this week have I been able to keep them in for 4 hours or so at a time before popping them out for a brief rest and popping them back in. Im just now starting to learn to chew real food again.
I've been living on scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, chili, soups, yogurt, etc this whole time. A good multivitamin really helped too. LOTS of water. Rinsing with a non alcohol, pain killing mouthwash every 4 hours.
For me the pain dropped off a lot after the first 3 days, then it was more gradual improvement.
Just saying all this to say your experience might be different than anyone elses. Its OK if it is, don't feel bad if you need to take a break from that top denture a few days til things heal up enough to get the lower one in. You have to do it at your own pace.

Aye, don't be doing that, you might have pulled the clot out and be on the way to dry socket hell!! If you have a clot or not, leave it alone and as was already mentioned, go to your dentist and have them take a look-see. I'm 3 weeks out and I've still got stitches in several of the deep holes, and I pulled out the stitches in several deep ones trying to get what I realized wasn't a bone fragment but rather the inside walls of where the teeth were. Terribly infected when they were pulled and that stuff is still there. But it's not hurting.
I can't use the stuff they gave me, the Peridex but I traded it with my wife for this and it's AMAZING for healing and use salt water EVERY time you rinse except with this stuff.
Cushion Grip is Sold on eBay or Amazon. Read the reviews about it and watch a YouTube video. I think it’ll be a game changer for you. Only side effect is a tingling tongue that lasts 5 min after application.
I wore fake dentures I bought off Amazon for my upper teeth for a good while before I managed to get my dental work done. You couldn’t really tell they were fake unless you knew what my real smile looked like or you looked really closely (though I will say I can imagine they might not look realistic for everyone).
They don’t last very long and you can’t eat with them, but they’re only 25 bucks and I learned to subtly take them out before eating and put them back in after. I saw you mentioned you smoke, they do get discolored rather quickly (I smoked at the time I wore them).
They’re definitely a hassle when you first get them just because you have to put them in hot water to make the adhesive on the back soft and then mold it to the front of your teeth. You just have to make sure you take them off your teeth before it gets hard, especially if you have broken teeth, not just missing ones (learned that the hard way lol).

I’ll post a pic on my profile so you can see what it looked like when I was wearing them. Funnily enough, I actually think it made the transition to real dentures easier for me, since I was already so used to having a foreign object sit right up to where my gums become my upper lip, which is where my real dentures is now.
Feel free to PM and ask questions 🙂
I bought ALL of the adhesives. None of them are perfect.
Honestly, try a bit of everything until you find what works. I tried the paste, the powder, the strips... It's like $5 to try a different option.
Cannot recommend Secure enough.
The one I got isn’t huge but is definitely comfortable!! It came with 4 tear drop shaped gel packs for placing in the fridge and works perfectly!! I went ahead and linked below
Allergic in what way? Can't have zinc?
I use Secure, and it f***ing cements my teeth in all day.
Miglyol (derived from glycerin), Solution of Polyvinyl Acetate (non water-soluble ingredient used as the base of many chewing gums), Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (derived from tree bark), Aloe Vera Gel, Commiphora Myrrha Extract.Zinc-free.
Not a lot there to be allergic to. Get their cleanup tablets though... Stuff has a tendency to hang around in your denture.
Yup, it's a little tingly but it sticks. So, I found that rinsing with warm water a few times before I tried to get them out, helps the most. Then rinse with cold water and it'll harden a bit. Then use a paper towel to kinda scrape it off your gums. It's a process. So glad I've got snaps on the bottom. However, I'm not crazy about it bc if you don't use just enough, your dentures will kinda slide and irritate your gums. Then if it leaks, it makes me queasy all day.
My dentist sells this and I like it a lot.

$10. And an extra for hubby so he doesn't have to be jealous.
Lil' jelly that you already have your soft relines, but I don't have mine by choice, kinda, so no biggie. Glad to hear you're doing well.

This is a cheap one I found on Amazon but I lucked out and found this wooden one for same price at Walmart. Salad chopping knife I guess is what you would call it? lol
this is full of questioins xD
Talking - i love how this is the most understated thing about getting dentures no-one ive ever spoke to mention this beforehand, but its about practice, i had this crappy habit from before i got them so i had to relearn my muscle memory.
Eatiing - i went from soft foods like soup etc to harder textures pretty quick like 3-4 weeks in. again dont push yourself if its awkward or you'll just chew the fuck out the inside your mouth
Adhesives - i used these but found pads much more comfortable, soft snug fit and none of that "thick" saliva bit thats fucking grimm... ughhh

I think you can probably find them as tooth whitening trays now. I found some on amazon. Here is the link First result I found, there may be something better out there. Not sure how stiff they are. Might also be able to find clear mouthguards, but talking would be difficult with either probably.
I am not sure about your situation, but might be better to just seek treatment asap.
I messed up the name, it's actually Cushion Grip. It kind of acts like a liner not just an adhesive.
