I really like Surefire brand earplugs. They have a little cap on them so you can have both dampened sound and close to zero sound. I use them when riding transit: cap on for no noise when navigating the bus/train platforms, cap in when on the bus so noise is dampened but I can still hear if someone is trying to get my attention. I also have the Sony wh-1000xm4 headphones and they’re definitely worth saving up for.
I own Sony WH1000XM4 headphones and they’re probably the best set of headphones I ever splurged on, and I’m really picky about the kind of headphones and/or earbuds I purchase. They sound great and I love the fact that you can control some of the sound functions on the Sony app that is compatible with it. But I know they’re pricey and can be difficult to afford if you don’t have $250+ lying around.
I saw some people recommend Soundcore Q30 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling headphones if you are looking for more affordable headphones. The reviews on Amazon rate them 4.5 out of 5 stars, so I assume they must be good based off of that.
