I have been using this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0792RZPKS for a pretty long time now and it works great, moreover the design is pretty cool (but that's just a bonus!) There is a discount at the moment so it won't be too expensive ( Code: 41ZCO4QL)
Hope it will satisfy you!
Unfortunately, the information you received from your friend is most likely wrong. MLM reps are not the most informed sources when it comes to EOs. In fact, most of the things they believe are just plain wrong. Please do yourself a favor and get your information away from companies like doTerra and Young Living and the reps.
Get yourself a book like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3PV0E0/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0
It is a good starter book overall.
I did a little research. Grapefruit essential oil contains limonene which does in fact help with weight loss. https://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-1105-limonene.aspx?activeingredientid=1105
I've had this one from Amazon for a couple of years now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NOAKUBM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_wF-sAbRFXH5GZ
I like that it is sleek and you can choose to have the light portion off of you want. It'll also run through the whole night if you fill the tank to the max, which makes it a good option if you plan to use it while sleeping. I always recommend it to people when they ask because we have loved it the whole time we've had it!
Best things to look for in a diffuser in my opinion are timer settings (how long do you want/need it to run for, how many options are there), light settings (a lot of them come with color options which I hate but other people love), and overall look. Hope that helps!! :)
The diffuser I bought on Amazon is out of stock, but this one is very similar. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y2CQRZY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cx0mBbDE6NXK1
As for essential oils that smell like home, I think that can be different for everyone. But, I really enjoy orange mixed with lavender for a calming yet uplifting scent, peppermint for energy, lavender alone for winding down, and eucalyptus in the shower to wake up!
I would avoid Revive. Don't like their practices or lack of proper safety.
Companies like Eden Botanicals, Nature's Gift, Plant Therapy, etc. will have what each oil is historically used for in the product descriptions. For a book, This One, would be a good one to have on hand.

Since your experience with essential oils comes from a MLM company (Young Living), you need to forget everything you think you know about EOs. Don't ingest them, and always dilute them when applying topically. Get your information from reliable sources and not MLM companies or reps.
Its not great to buy oils on Amazon -- it's not regulated enough with items coming into their warehouses and there are stories floating around about receiving essential oils that have been cut wth carrier oils. I'd recommend either getting a gift card to somewhere like Edens Garden or going to Whole Foods or Vitamin Shoppe instead and buying a couple. I have never used any from WF or VS so I personally can't speak to how quailty they are.
As far as diffusers go, Ive tried several on Amazon and they've all been fine. This is the one Ive been using lately: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0716SV4H1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mffoAbK1CJXCK
Something else to consider, which will be cheaper for you, is to use diatomous earth. It basically is little razors for insects and causes them to dry out and die when they cross over it. It is safe for pets and humans
https://www.amazon.com/HARRIS-Diatomaceous-Crawling-Insect-Included/dp/B082LRSCV8
I really like Prime Natural’s Breathe Blend. I put a few drops in my hand with some jojoba oil and rub it on my chest, neck, and forehead. Literally just did that last night to help with my congested sinuses. It helps a lot.
https://www.amazon.com/Breathe-Essential-Oil-Blend-10ml/dp/B00YWHX2JI
Rose Damascena is quite different from the above. This is the clean expensive one.
Rose is one of the most touchy florals. It can quickly go the wrong direction. If price is an issue try this Rose Garden Oil. 30ml of it for $7. It will give the scent profile you seek, though it is a mixture of oils/chemicals itself.
They MAKE car diffusers. The reason they use USB, is because the car is a DC (direct current) system, and the USB diffuser is a 5V DC system. The ones I saw weren't tiny. Go buy one on Amazon
I have tried just putting oil on a cotton and putting it in between the air vent slats but that dried out super quick. I got a small USB car diffuser from Amazon and it fits in the cup holder and I love it so much. 18 Dollars very well spent https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071P1MMLY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0zVZBbJWGVQSR
This diffuser is better because it has intermittent settings so it’s not constantly on.
But if I were you I would visit the Plant Therapy website rather than buy from Amazon - they are having their 25 days of Christmas sale and there are/will be some great deals.
Get some resources like this essential oil safety book by Robert Tisserand and Rodney young. Make sure it’s the 2018 version as the older version is out of date now.
Aromaweb.com is another good resource when looking for blends.
Dilution% is very important as misuse can lead to allergy and sensitivities among other things. You should probably stay under a 2.5% max for yourself without the guidance of a registered aromatherapist/ before doing a lot of research on dilutions and what the contraindications are for each oil you use. (Which ones can be harmful or need extra caution)
I would stick to using an inhaler or defusing for 15 min at a time before getting into topical use; especially for anything mental or emotional like anxiety.
Welcome to the wonderful world of essential oils! Have fun, be safe, and do your research! Even when taking advise from others.
This is the one I currently have on my desk, it’s simple and works great.
I've absolutely no idea about the quality of their oils, but one thing I can tell you is that the diffuser they sell for $40 and claim to be discounting is an extremely popular China-made model that sells for $5 to $6 on Alibaba (complete with "Your Brand" customisation). There's dozens of similar ones on Amazon, all cheaper than the Cliganic one.
That doesn't suggest that the oils are fake, but does suggest that they overprice for an "organic" tag.
Amazon example (I didn't search much, but I know I've seen a lot of this design on my local Amazon-equivalent, which is what got me searching in the first place)
https://www.amazon.com/GX-Diffuser-Essential-Compatible-Humidifier-Atmosphere/dp/B01N3LIPCN
Alibaba link, confirming the source
As risky as I felt it was, I ordered an amazing one for 60 dollars from AliExpress. It came in about three weeks. It sells for 3-400 elsewhere, and I just looked for what I knew was already made in China on the site for the design, and the size. I bought a 300 ml machine, it is amazing. I wish I could post a video of it, but Amazon and elsewhere marks them up.
It is waterless, like the resorts use. I bought the scent from 1 Hotel from Scentfluence, it was expensive but it lasts forever. It is the top scent, lots of knockoffs (like from Aroma 360) but Scentfluence has the OG deal with the resorts they list.
My hobby now is trying to figure out how to mix my own essential oils so I don't have to spend 50 on theirs, but I don't want to break the machine. Thick oils can clog it up. I even asked several companies what their base oil is, no one will respond. I think there might be a little alcohol in it. Still trying to figure it out, I want to make a custom scent, but look into the "My Way" scent if you are into hotel custom blends. My machine is the one you are thinking of, it can also be hooked up to the whole house hvac, but doesn't need to be. I'd be happy to share more thoughts. I even bought extra bottles to screw in so I wouldn't blend scents. I am pasting a link to the one I have (it runs on an app, that took some playing with to get to use) but it can be done manually. If you want me to post the Aliexpress one I can, but mine is identical to this one, in every way. Comparison to what I bought
Please get a nebulizing diffuser than humidifier/ultrasonic. Look up raindrop 3.0 or raindrop 2.0 diffuser. For meditation I suggest eucalyptus or white tea. Checkout aroma360 oils.
Thank me later. ;)
Most citrus essential oils are going to be uplifting. As for grounding essential oils I find conifer or woody scents. They’re very grounding for me. Here is a link for a nice set of woody scents for your collection.
That makes me so sad, but I confirmed you're indeed correct. Look at all these promises they made about it being pure. 🙄
I dont like supporting amazon that much but I bought this one in August 2020 and is still working and I really like it! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074QGWYHX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have been also looking as well! I was almost tempted to get a nebulizer, but they eat up oil very quickly and are actually kinda noisy. They’re also fragile too compared to the ultrasonic counterparts. I also don’t wanna spend a fortune on it, which nebulizers tend to be more on the expensive end. Especially if you frequently have to keep buying oils.
I think I will most likely settle on this one from Amazon, but the one from Target that @twirleygirl posted is intriguing too.

Buy this. Seriously. You won't regret it! My hair has grown by just using it for 3 weeks everyday. I love it so much. If you're skeptical, check out the reviews.
Rosemary oil does help your hair grow but for me it wasn't fast enough.
Your journey with making products sounds very similar to mine. I’ve been making them for myself for years and within the last year or so I started to get serious about selling them. I’ve recently started using this product when I make rose water facial toner. After you take your lavender water off the heat, let it cool a bit and add this at the same time you add the essential oils. This should help with bacteria and allow the essential oils to blend better. I still give the finished product a little shake before I use it though. I hope this helps!

Completely different question but is fiora a good brand? I found this sub after I already bought my peppermint EO online. This is what I have https://www.amazon.com/Fiora-Naturals-Peppermint-Organic-Essential/dp/B092PNLY3M/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3S5IKKEB2QYU5&keywords=peppermin+oil+fiora&qid=1646867768&sprefix=peppermin+oil+fiora%2Caps%2C65&sr=8-4#
I’m looking for something to help with hair growth and acne scarring. I also wanted to know if this is a safe brand to use.
Old post but, I noticed oils and candles sometimes do not do the trick if you are sitting in the backyard. I have a stream on my property with a small river behind me so I get a lot of mosquitos. I found that large (fat) incense burners really keep them back. The smoke is what is really helping. You can place them in the ground and then just roll the tip in the dirt to put them out when your finished. They can last quite a while.

Here's my list of must-haves:
Lavender, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Frankincense, Rosemary, Tea Tree and Ylang Ylang.
And here are the list of EO's that would help you round out your collection:
Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove, Fennel, Helichrysum, Lemon Balm (Melissa), Lemongrass, Myrrh, Neroli, Orange, Oregano, Sandlewood and Vetiver.
I would recommending going to Plant Therapy and starting out with their 14 EO set for $50. And then also add Ylang Ylang, Clove and Frank to your list!

Many people believe just because they haven’t had a reaction YET that it’s okay to just keep using them unsafely. Often irritation happens over time, so best to be safe.
If you stick with the dilution recommendations you should be fine. In the case of Clove, use at 0.5% dilution. Clove has a distinctive aroma so I believe you’ll still have the aroma you want but safely.
Pam Conrad, an expert in the field, wrote an excellent book that you might want to check out - Women’s Health Aromatherapy which can help guide you.

Would something like this be okay?
Yeah unfortunately as your wife becomes properly educated, her friendship is likely going to go south. YL reps are not ones to take proper safety and education well in my experience.
This is a good book to start out with. Not perfect but good overall:
The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy
And this is a good book from what I hear:
The Encyclopedia of Essential Oils

Stay away from any books by Eric Z, Josh Axe, Life Science Publishing, Dave Stewart, Scott Johnson, etc. Horrible and unsafe advice in those books.
I’ve had THIS ONE over a year. So far so good.
if you have a thicker layer of oil gunk (from not cleaning it after a while)
ONE WORD - GOO GONE.
Vinegar did not work.. just made it look like it was working but went back to how it was.
Goo - Gone (https://www.amazon.ca/Goo-Gone-Original-Liquid-Adhesive/dp/B00006IBNJ) INSTANT,. cleaned in 30 seconds or less. then wipe away the gunk. I used soap and water after just to wash off any trace of the goo gone after.
That is a great book to have. However, there is two items to note about this item:
* Though if one is interested in the composition of these oils (which was what attracted me,) then this is book for you …😀
I have this diffuser from amazon from Lemon + Co and it's really nice! $35 is a little expensive but I got it for my birthday and I really like that the cover is glass. Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083R1JC16/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Another good place to get diffusers from is TJ Maxx if you have those stores near you. I got one from a brand called aroma aria and it looks exactly like the vitruvi diffuser but was only $14!
I got the essential oil set at this link:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083FM37WQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Are these not pure essential oils? If they aren't, what exactly is the difference between essential oils and fragrance oils?
Why not get something proper to actually address your problem, a White Noise Machine .
oh okay! And this one? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JYCF9DC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. So they should only say the latin name, and be expensive? So you're saying these are purely synthetic fragrance oil with false claims?
I got one of these from Amazon because I like the way it looks. There are several similar brass models. I like the cold diffuser mechanism, it involves no heat, is pretty much trouble free, and generally very quiet. It has lights with different settings, but you can use them or not. You DO have to add water to it from time to time, one fill up lasts 3 to 4 hours I think, I never timed it. I have used lots of different oils in it, but be aware if you use low grade oils or things not intended for oil diffusion, it will get gunked up. BUT there is nothing that touches a mechanism of any kind, so you just have to clean the water receptable.

I have this book and have found it pretty good - Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals by Kristen Leigh Bell. (Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals: A Comprehensive Guide to the Use of Essential Oils & Hydrosols with Animals (Comprehensive Guide to the Use of Essential Oils and Hydroso)) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1899171592/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_xVJ3FbKWPX8R6
There’s a Facebook group whose Admin is on the board of NAHA. She teaches animal aromatherapy and have found this to be a good resource. https://m.facebook.com/groups/1595932084001505/?ref=group_browse
i just got a ceramic passive diffuser and it works great. much shorter diffuse time than ultrasonic, but perfect for the car of my office. no need for electricity either. something like this would work: https://www.amazon.com/Airom%C3%A9-Succulent-Non-Electric-Battery-Free-Peppermint/dp/B07TTKJPXD/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=passive+diffuser&qid=1608301911&sr=8-2
you can even just use a cotton ball as a passive diffuser
I've got something very similar to this. It works really well and it's got a massive capacity.
Well this is an older post but I just found The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy on Amazon and its got a lot of great reviews. I think I'm going to take a leap and buy it.
I have this one and I really like it, it's fairly quiet and has a nice warm-white LED light that isn't too bright. You can run the diffuser with the light on, dimmed a bit, flickering (sort of like a candle), or turned off completely. It also has an intermittent mode where it runs for 15 seconds, then pauses for another 15 before diffusing again. It has the usual features like turning off automatically when the tank runs dry, etc. I like that it has a little remote control - I'm lazy and don't wanna get out of bed to turn it off sometimes!
Just a suggestion for you, Amazon has a lot of affordable ones with good ratings. I definitely don't think you need to spend too much money to get a decent one, I know some stores sell them for like $80+ which to me is unnecessary.
I just bought this one on Amazon! It smells amazing and wasn't too expensive. I was finding little bottle for $70. After reading some reviews I ended up picking this one and am very happy with it!
Sandalwood (Australian)(2 fl oz) Best Essential Oil - 2 ounces (59ml) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SI5CVR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_wVGDxMniRwb5M
> and oils? You can get both a diffuser and 4oz bottle of lavender essential oil for about $20ish total on amazon.
does this count as a "real" one? I'm very uneducated on these but trying my best. My roommate has asthma too so I need to make sure it's natural https://www.amazon.com/InnoGear-Aromatherapy-Essential-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/dp/B07BDKJ2B8/ref=sr_1_17_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1530250016&sr=1-17&keywords=aromatherapy%2Bessential%2Boils&th=1
You could check your local craft stores such as micheals, hobby lobby, or Amazon has some im sure! in fact here's a link to some incase you wanted to check them out https://www.amazon.com/Vivaplex-Amber-Glass-Bottles-Lids/dp/B06Y62H2LB/ref=sr_1_7_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1549079443&sr=8-7&keywords=glass+amber+bottle
Nebulizers do not use water and do not waste your oils. You can find good deals on them if you are patient and diligent on EBAY. I’m just posting this link so you know what I’m talking about. Also, I’ve seen diffusers that use water at goodwill or at garage sales for a fraction of the cost of new. https://www.amazon.com/Nebulizing-Essential-Aromatherapy-Diffuser-Professional/dp/B00RBOH7HC/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=Nebulizer+Essential+Oil+Diffuser&qid=1599980521&refinements=p_72%3A1248903011&rnid=1248901011&s=hpc&s...
I am also on the hunt for a good diffuser if anyone has recommendations and it's ok to ask on this thread. I can start a new thread if that's better. I need a diffuser that is good for larger spaces (large room or open floor plan), so it must have a high mist output (>35 ml/hr min), ideally a large capacity reservoir (>250 ml), and it must be aesthetically pleasing (which of course is subjective), and ideally under $40 US.
I found two that I really liked the look of and had good reviews - this one and this one. But they were not powerful enough to fill my space (mist output too low) and if I ran them overnight they smelled musty in the morning and the water would be warm so I just returned them. Thanks!
This is not the same exact thing as what I have so I can't vouch for it. Like I said, I bought mine at a local place. But it can give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I5W7NJ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XHKmFbFMGMK37
Hey! So sorry to hear about your mom, there's nothing worse than watching a parent be in so much pain. Sending you lots of love and light!
As the person before me mentioned, definitely speak to an oncologist before giving her any oils to consume or place on her body. For diffusion, I'd recommend going with oils that are known to help people relax such as lavender, jasmine or even blue tansy (known to soothe and comfort).
If she is experiencing lots of digestive discomfort like nausea and pains, I'd also recommend ginger and fennel oils. There's actually a balm I recently ordered on amazon that's natural and marketed towards pregnant women (I am expecting and suffering from terrible morning sickness - this has been helping a lot) and women going through chemo:
Good luck and I hope your mom finds some relief <3
I read that pine oil is an insecticide and that it has a relatively low toxicity to humans (although it is still toxic to babies and children and pets, so don't use it if you have those in your house), so I recently bought and cleaned my floors with it. I'll see over the next few weeks if I stop seeing bugs altogether or if I still occasionally see a few, but it's supposed to be an insecticide so hopefully it keeps them away altogether.
This is what I bought:
https://www.amazon.ca/King-Pine-Concentrated-Multi-Surface-Industrial/dp/B00TU6I7H8/
I don't know much about diffusing oils but I imagine the concentration would be very low, maybe not high enough to affect bugs. If you use a higher concentration and clean your floors with it then that might help.
For the oil, I would just buy from Plant Therapy directly. The prices are the same and they are currently running sales on their site, so you may pay even less. That is a good start-up set for oils, as it has a god variety of common oils you may need. Be sure to do some research and look up some recipes you may want to try. That way, you are only buying oils you will actually use. BTW, I heard that 3rd party sellers may alter the oils, or containers. Not sure about that one, but it's what I heard.

I would also suggest Eden's Garden . While I prefer PT, EG has "choose your own" sets in 6, 12, and beyond. This way, you can bundle cheaper oils in a set and get the more expensive ones on PT. EG is also running sales, but I haven't been paying enough attention to what they are :-/

The diffuser looks pretty! I got a 700 ml one form Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073F6DKLF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, but this one looks good, too. I recently found a course on essential oil use on Udemy and the guy on their likes water diffusers (like the one you picked out) and nebulzers (more scent and no water, but also more expensive).
Oils guide by ufo studio on android. My coworker bought the yl one before I found this and we compared and it's literally the same thing.

Thanks for all you guys do. I think we've sort of beat a dead horse with the MLM stuff so I'd love to see the Discussion about them sort of die off. If people want to use them cool. If they don't, also cool. Use the brands and blends that suit you and lets not argue over them. The TLDR there for me at least is that the mention of an MLM triggers some, if that's you try resist. From a mod standpoint I'd love to see posts arguing about MLM's removed. There's already a little blurb about that in the wiki so continuing that conversation doesn't really move our overall EO discussion forward.
One thing I'd love to see added to the WIKI is a section on books that get referenced here often. Books like Essential Oil Safety, and The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy. Those are 2 that I see people reference back to fairly often. If there are others that the pros want to add here that would be cool too.
I use this Hemp Seed Oil on my face every night. It is 4 ounces (a good size bottle) priced at $22.00. I thought that was a good deal for 4 ounces.

If you are using this on your skin, make sure the oil you purchase is intended for use on skin.
I just got this one on Amazon for myself and my mom and I'm actually planning on buying another for my bedroom: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073F6DKLF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The this is huge (600 ml) and really easy to use and clean. It runs for 12+ hours on high and diffuses really well. I could smell a synthetic blend (non-EO) all over my living room, dining room, and kitchen (high setting).
I moved it into my bedroom 2 hours ago, put 10 drops of lavender in it (too much :-/) and diffused it for 5 minutes (low setting, much smaller room). 2 hours later, I still smell lavender in here. At only $30, it's way better than many I've seen w/ 1/3 of the capacity.
I bought this one and liked it well enough that I bought one for my nana as a gift with some essential oils.
If you have prime, this is a wonderful diffuser on sale for $14!!

You could try searching for makeup carrying cases instead, they would probably have more room in order to carry makeup bottles and whatnot - I picture something like this
Sort of. Edens Garden sells single oils (the first group I posted) which can be blended together to make awesome scents and they also sell their own pre mixed blends (second group) that are just amazing.
I recommend them over other companies because they test their oils for purity and aren't super expensive compared to other companies. I use their oils in my DIY beauty products such as lotions and serums.
My diffuser is called a "rockano". I bought it off of amazon for $50 and while it was expensive, it is reliable and runs a lot longer than others I've owned. here is the link

Like these right? Someone else suggested I try zinc too so I've been trying those. I just started so I don't really see any difference yet
I have a small, cheapy one from Amazon, and it's perfect. It was maybe $15 on sale. I don't think you need to spend a lot on one, or get a big one. The small ones will go for hours on the intermittent setting, which is the way to go.
Mine is something like this, but like I said, whichever one it was, I didn't pay full price.
Check out the Carrier Stick. It's a solid Carrier Oil. It's sold on Amazon or www.carrierstick.com
I bought this geranium EO from Plant Guru, and it has a rose scent. Not purely like a rose, but like a rose/misc. floral blended scent. I assume that geranium just smells similar to rose!
FYI I bought the Smiley Daisy Hibiscus based on this link, and I was completely underwhelmed. It would only fill about a 10x15 room with scent. When I placed the unit in my kitchen, I couldn't even smell the oils though the house.
I returned the Hibiscus and ordered the Zen Breeze instead
Much better reviews on square footage coverage for only $10 more
If you want a diffuser to cover as much area as the Hibiscus just get the Seneo for a fraction of the price
