You seem to have a good collection of gloves, IMO. Those hayabusas are rated good for the price. I recently purchased superior boxing gloves which are supposed to be Winning clones for sparring but I have yet to use them. Other than that I’ve only used title before and they get the job done. I’m a girl so for bag gloves I use societynine at this time
https://superiorboxinggear.com/ They have great reviews. I was shopping for some new sparring gloves and came to this sub and was recommended these a few time so I’m happy with my decision.
You have a really good budget for some gloves though so I’m sure someone here will recommend some top tier gloves if that’s what you want
I’m waiting for my appointment so for now I use this NXTRND guard from Amazon and so far so good.
2 Pack Nxtrnd Rush Mouth Guard Sports – Professional Mouthguards for Boxing, Football, MMA, Wrestling, Lacrosse, and Other Sports, Fits Adults and Youth 11+, Mouth Guard Case Included https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HNJWRM8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_E6XA3ABJSJ1XA3KC1EQM
for budget gloves I recommend ringside gloves when they have %50 off sales, but it's been a while since that sale been back
but they have their paladium bag gloves on amazon for half off for $40, it's real leather gloves so I doubt you can get a better glove for that price. I have the sparring version and love it

u can find a really good stand for bags but i would not recommend keeping a heavy bag on a stand because it reduces your mobility and u cant even properly box on it, so if u have the space buy a mount or just hang it on the ceiling

a double end bag would be a great idea. Double end bags are also pretty easy to install and you can take them and use them at the park or anywhere you can tie 2 bungee cords off at. 1 thing i recommend if you grab one is not to even bother with double end bag anchors you see from everlast and other brands. Just get a kettle-bell or any type of heavy thing you can tie it off on. the bag anchors work, but they aren't necessary at all and are kinda a waste of $20, and usually you need to fill them with water or something which is going to rip open at some point. a speed bag would also be a great idea for hand eye coordination as well, but they are kinda a pain in the ass to set up. IMO, if thats something you really want to get him then get a good mount for the speedbag, but most of the under $100 dollar solutions for mounting them mostly suck, and aren't adjustable. Honestly though, if he wanted to hang a bag as well then these dual bag stand and speed bag setups aren't that bad, you just need the extra weights to hold it in place, and you dont have to drill into your wall to mount it like other speed bag mounts.
1 thing i haven't seen suggested is a wall bag. this is more often seen in muay thai gyms, but i've been using one in the gym for years and I think they're pretty good if you dont mind drilling into your wall.
H5 gloves were just lunched this month but all the reviews I found were very positive. overall this bundle is a pretty good value.
(74) Hayabusa H5 Boxing Gloves REVIEW- MY FAVORITE HAYABUSA GLOVE! - YouTube
Amazon.com : Hayabusa H5 Boxing Gloves for Men and Women : Sports & Outdoors
I've had this for over two years. $27, works as a duffel for my car or backpack for my bike, and has a waterproof "shoe" pocket I use for sweaty gear.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008YPI3JI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 let me know if you want the deal I'll tell you how I got it
Winning gloves are known to have a thin and long thumb section. Fake winning gloves tend to have a wider thumb, like this.
Wonder why they were giving them away, they look brand new.../s
btw a new pair that are better are only $26...how much mold and sweat are in those relics?
I would honestly offer your all the alternative of an all around good wrestling shoe, the asics matflex specially the 5, order half a size up and you got a great all around wrestling/boxing/weightlifting shoe for wide feet, also they got them on amazon so if they suck or you ordered the size wrong you can return them.
But legitimately a great all around combat sport shoe with probably some of the best reviews a wrestling shoe has gotten.
Just in case you were still wondering, it’s these RDX shin guards:
RDX Shin Guards Kickboxing Muay Thai, SATRA SMMAF Approved, Premium Maya Hide Leather, Leg Instep Protection Pads, MMA Martial Arts Kicking Sparring Training Gear, BJJ Karate Boxing Taekwondo, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004X7BRLM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_32S7ZYTDWKENCG2SPZ58?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Mma fighter here. Just go with the fairtex shinguards. They don’t slip, and although they look bulky they don’t get in the way that much for grappling. And if you are a hard kicker they will save your shins a lot of grief.

i love the Crossrope but i agree it is very pricey.
I’m not sure if you might have access to this, but i’ve been using one of these from twins and it’s been great:
i got it brand new for around $20 USD
>but is someone going to have to tie them for me everytime I put them on?

BEHOLD!

Lace and loops.

I've had mine for years and love them. When I want to have a good, SNUG fit, I take them off and have someone lace up my gloves.
I'm a heavy hitter and I like the Sanabul Paw quick handwraps. They go on really quick and support the wrist well.

I use the Winning Knuckle Guards when I'm going to have a long session on the heavy bag and it makes a lot of difference.
If ur unsure if ur going stick with it:
After 3 months, if u enjoy and are going keep boxing; order R2C c17 in 16oz
You want a sport earbud with a design like the two below. The little fin looking piece fits the shape of the ear great and is extremely secure. I don’t have either of the pairs below but I have one that utilizes this design (mine cost 40 bucks off Amazon but they aren’t listed anymore) and they are amazing. I can smash the heavy bag with my hardest shots and they feel locked into my ears for 12 rounds.

Now looking at RDX gloves from a comment on another post, and this bag.
Thoughts? Unclear on tape still.
Wouldn’t recommend heat to dry out gloves.
Use some deodorising spray which neutralises sweat, let them air dry overnight and then store with glove deodorisers like these
When I was looking for my first pair of gloves I got recommended through Reddit these gloves
Title Boxing Leather Gloves 3.0
Honestly they’ve been fantastic. I have the 16oz but I only really do pad/bag work. They only thing is I don’t know your hand size so I can’t be sure if they would be comfortable for you. These are just solid gloves though and inexpensive compared to other gloves suggested.
Yea most of their products are pretty cheaply made and ass, but these have been good for me. And they're also pretty popular with pros.
These are the ones I have: https://www.amazon.com/Everlast-Elite-High-Boxing-Shoes/dp/B07BS44VZD
I think any of the ones with the Michelin sole are relatively similar in quality.
There is one from twins that i’ve always felt was a good weight to use (posted the amazon link below)
There’s also a black one but these are the 4 colours. got a used one for about half the retail price and it works too well. can’t even find a darn excuse to replace it 🤦🏻♂️
You can use alcohol based products but they will damage your gloves. First thing is never throw them in your gym bag. I open them up and allow them to air out. I put them in front of a fan preferably.
Then I spray the inside with this;
Vapor Fresh Natural Sports Cleaning and Deodorizing Spray for Gym Equipment, Yoga Mats, 16 Ounces (1-Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ECO9XI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_TX8C8SSF3WGAP8NQHEJR
This stuff is great because it's tree oil based.
Then I put these things inside:

You don’t need boxing shoes the box. Fox and she was a really only made to be used while in the ring since they slide so well. If you use them for running and jump roping and other stuff they will fall apart easily. I would hold off on getting a good pair of boxing shoes until you actually have a fight set up.
I use these wrestling shoes for boxing and they have served me well and they are cheap.

I’ve had these 3/4” in my hone gym for almost 2 years and am just now replacing squares. Im also on them pretty much daily. I wouldn’t wear shoes on them through, I go barefoot (kickboxing)
A little gorilla tape on the underside will help keep them together too and patch any small scratches.
I’ve tried these— https://imgur.com/a/mF6LMa9
(16oz — Reyes Hook/loop, Reyes lace-up, Combat Corner hook/loop 14oz — Fairtex hook/loop)
My favorite, hands down, is the Fairtex ones. I use them for Muay Thai, but I’d use them for boxing too.
I bought 14oz for class and liked them so much the box at the top has a pair of 16oz in a different color for sparring that showed up just moments ago (many gyms require 16oz for sparring).
They about cost half as much as the Reyes did, which are way to stiff for anything besides the heavy bag or burning yourself out fast on pads from ultra heavy gloves.

My question is do you plan on competing? If so you need an USABOXING certified headgear. (Or your country’s certified headgear). If so, I recommend you just spend a little more and get you one headgear that you can use in sparring and in fights so you can stretch your money a bit.
If not, there are several options for a budget friendly headgear
Csquaredboxing reviewed this one and gave a pretty good rating given the price
LASTSTAND Boxing Headgear for Men and Women, Kickboxing Head Gear, PU Leather Head Guard Sparring Helmet for Boxing, MMA, UFC, Martial Arts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08N44P7SD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PRWPHEHHZ4X2G06FK5CH
If anything, head to eBay I’m sure you can save a few dollars and find a new headgear. I bought a title brand headgear brand new for $40 shipped on eBay a month or so ago.
I asked a similar question on here before and a few people recommended me these:
Winning Knuckle Guards Ng2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOPVEZ8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_378CG4833PZCJM3HSA27?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Been using them ever since and they are amazing on my knuckles. Definitely suggest them.
definitely get wraps,180 inch and elastic. most brands are all the same except for everlast,
For gloves, tridents are trash won't do a good job absorbing heavy impacts.
the cheapest high quality gloves you can get is this ringside one. I have it and it's not the best compared to my $200 gloves. but for $40 it's amazing, real leather and tri layer foam.
also 10oz is way too light
Check the US Amazon site to see how much it would cost , and also check this option

Yeh, I’d recommended these rdx gloves used them myself, Conor McGregor, Michael chandler and other ufc fighters have been training in these very comfortable and supportive on the wrist and knuckles https://www.amazon.com/RDX-Grappling-Fighting-Sparring-Training/dp/B01F59MOJK/ref=sr_1_24?dchild=1&keywords=Rdx&qid=1613865724&sr=8-24
I picked up this video camera that uses SD cards and you can connect straight to your tv via HDMI. Good quality and will get the job done for $60

Hey there! I'm pretty new so take my advice with a pinch of salt. I started May last year, or some time when quarantine started. I've progressed fairly enough where I finally bought some equipment. Starting with the double end bag since December last year which I feel has been the most useful for my training. Finally, I bought my first punching bag, but it's an angel punching bag which I can practice uppercuts and body shots.
I've only had it for about a week now but I think I love this one more than the standard heavy bag (the long cylinder ones). It only comes in the 65lb on Amazon but I anchor it down with weight tied to the bottom of the bag (bottom of the bag has a ring to anchor it) so it doesn't swing too much throwing heavier shots. Although I don't throw bombs on it often, more for technique and form. Only downside I can see rn is you and I share the same height and weight and it's a little low for me where the "head" of the bag is below my chin, buts that's where my bag is set up and I'd need a stand or mount it somewhere higher to my appropriate height.
Hope this helps!
Well since you haven't even started learning formally yet, I wouldn't bother getting headgear. You're probably not going to spar for a while.

A pair of basic boxing gloves will probably be fine. Title Pro Style Leather Training Gloves are great entry-level gloves. Get them in 16oz

https://www.amazon.com/Title-Style-Leather-Training-Gloves/dp/B07B9PV1YV/

You want 16oz to protect your hands. Your hand speed will pick up eventually when you actually learn proper punching technique.
I find I don’t like the Muay Thai foot grips. I think it’s too hard for me to pivot properly. I’ve been using these ballet soles for the last couple years . Bloch Dance Women's Neoform Contemporary Dance Shoe

These spar bars are expensive but really cool. Basically it help you learn to throw a strike, anticipate the counter, and strike again off defending the counter. Really cool, wish i had one.

double end bag is pretty nice

I'm a big fan of onitsuka tigers.
Amazon.com: Onitsuka Tiger Unisex Serrano Shoes, 4W, Navy/Gold: Shoes
it's very light and comfortable and most importantly looks really cool.
Thanks a ton! I agree, I think I'm going to pickup the Title Leather 3.0 instead.
I had these ones: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07GY24YNR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OB8JFb6HH3T6C But I don't recommend it if possible, way better for you to buy these ones: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B076NZ5N9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CU1JFbKH17QM1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
They're generally pretty bad. The fill doesn't nail them to the ground so they tend to move a lot, and there's very little you can do to stop the sounds/vibrations from traveling through the floor.

I've heard good things about this style of free standing heavy bag and csquaredboxing on youtube has a video on a similar (not the same) model:

https://www.amazon.com/Freestanding-Punching-Boxing-Durable-Suction/dp/B089GT5GMD/
I have some from Venum that have maybe 7' or 8' of "wrap" attached to the glove. I've used them for drilling, pads, really digging in to a heavy bag and sparring. They work great. I've experienced no difference between them and standard 180" wraps. There's no real need to go between the fingers so the whole wrap can be used around the knuckles and wrists.
As u/Neonhowl and your coach said, I wouldn't bother with the others I've seen (Title, Hayabusa, Sanabul, RDX, others) that provide no, or very minimal ( twice around the wrist max) wrapping.
Can't comment on Rival, but didn't have a good experience with Venum Elite 16oz gloves (https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01D1OBSSE/). I was first concerned about their synthetic leather but it was holding up reasonably well. The lining, however, quickly thinned and developed holes despite me always wearing gloves with straps and using moisture absorbing bags after training.
Unless they claim they are machine washable, don't. Wipe them down with a damp cloth then dry them off. If they're leather, buy some leather conditioner to treat them with and use a spare rag or wash cloth to keep the leather supple.

To keep them from mildewing inside, you need a pair of glove dogs:

https://www.amazon.com/Title-Boxing-TITLE-Glove-Dogs/dp/B0000AVB9Z

Or you can put a dryer cloth in them. The idea is to wick the moisture out so they can't culture anaerobic bacteria and create mold and mildew smells.
you can occasionally find winning gloves on amazon for $350 through this seller, right now he has the black lace up for that price and also red velcro. not sure if $350 is in your budget but this is a pretty good price
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CU6HDDY/ref=twister_B07CQVCDK9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I know....washing hand wraps is annoying but really necessary. I kept getting pink eye at my gym. I would take off my gloves between rounds of a heavy bag class and touch the bag or my face and then jam my gloves back on. I finally realized that there were all these teenage boys in my class, kicking the bag with their bare feet. Have you ever seen a 16 year old boy without athlete's foot? I haven't!! :-) I think that might be your problem. Try cleaning your gloves again, with a viral, anti-bacterial cleaner on the inside of your gloves. really make sure to clean all the way down the entire body of the interior of the glove. I also started using a boot dryer that I purchased from Amazon. It was pretty inexpensive, has an ozone function, and really dries the interior of the glove out quickly after a workout. I haven't had any skin issues since I started doing those two things, and bonus... no more grody glove smell!

For medium thick with slight stretch and aggressive velcro check out this UK brand sold on Amazon UK website. I ordered 2 pairs last year and they are still holding up -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B079NC7RY1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For slightly thinner checkout Hayubusa .
By chance UK has a small local manufacturer called Beast Gear. I've gone through many lower cost brands and this is my favorite. They are thicker yet enough elasticity and very strong velcro that lasts a long time. You can buy direct from their website or Amazon UK. My 2nd favorite are Hayabusa , they are thinner than the Beast Gear but I like their non abrasive style velcro so I use those with tighter gloves and on my MMA training days were we have to grapple with and without gloves. I don't like Fairtex because they use a thin velcro strap.
