I just discovered this from a post on r/hfy and I'm in love. Will definitely be checking out some of the albums on IA.
It would be very cool to see these archived from tape in a lossless codec like FLAC.
For the whole story, not just the Leslac version, albeit in prose, check out Oathbreakers (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002J05GM6?notRedirectToSDP=1&ref\_=dbs\_mng\_calw\_0&storeType=ebooks)
Hi,
I am happy to announce the publication of a new filk lyrics anthology: “Sentient Chili and Stranger Filk: Lyrics to 107 Songs of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Fandom” by Chris Weber.
It is now available as an e-Book, in paperback, and in hardback from Amazon.com.
I remember reading this book in elementary school (1981? 1982?): https://www.amazon.com/My-Robot-Buddy-Alfred-Slote/dp/0064401650
It somehow didn't seem far-fetched that the father had to choose between buying:
1. A phone for his car that would allow him to work remotely during his commute
2. An autonomous humanoid robot buddy for his son that would fish, play sports, and overall be smart and emotionally intelligent enough to be his best friend.
Of course, #1 now seems antiquated.
Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Reshow-Cassette-Player-Compatible-Computers/dp/B018WBUJBS/
Might be higher fidelity than an aux cord + analog capture. Seems to have good reviews.
