Calorie counters are where it's at. Log EVERYTHING you put in yourself, once you've added a lot of the regular things you eat it becomes easier to do especially since you can barcode a lot of it. Get the app to give you a target per day, then meet the target but don't put your exercise in. When you reduce it to maths and cheat yourself in the other direction the process seems easier, but the major thing is to give it time. Don't expect to see changes a week, a fortnight or even a month. Give it several months, maybe don't even re-weigh yourself until the new year: if you stick to numbers then it'll work itself out.

okay well the best place to do to build your strength and build a little muscle would be to go to the gym. However its not always that easy , might not be a gym available , you might not have the time etc or you might just not want to go to the gym. So before i started the gym as i didn't have the time i used to follow a few workouts from darabee, don't know if you have heard of it or not but its just a site with a collection of body workouts on nerdy/cool posters so are easy to read and follow. following some pushup routines from this i used to do about 5 sets of 40 pushups every few days, giving me a good base of strength and controlling my body. obviously if you haven't you should checkout the fitness reddit as well for bodyweight routines. to increase your endurance i would highly recommend HIIT feels alot more effective than just running. Anyway thats just some of the stuff I've picked up hopefully it helps in some way even if you know most of it.
