Unfortunately, FlipFlip is restricted to using the video formats supported by Chromium and it looks like they have no plans to add HEVC support: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=684382
My recommendation is to convert these to a supported format (probably MP4). Handbrake is a great tool I've used to convert a lot of my incompatible videos (WMV, AVI, etc.).
You can already make FlipFlip "AlwaysOnTop", I will try and add an option for opacity so it can be overlayed on top of something else.
That said, you can always use PeekThrough and AlwaysOnTop to make any program an overlay.

This is definitely possible, but we recommend using 3rd party tools to accomplish this, rather than trying to re-invent the wheel within FlipFlip.
This is such a highly requested feature that I decided to write a quick tutorial (for Windows) on how to do this: https://ififfy.github.io/flipflip/#/screen_capture
Here is the test video I made following this process. There are still a few things that could be improved (like for some reason the lower audio frequencies are being cut), and I will update the tutorial with those things when I have some more time to mess with it.
Sorry, the best think I can suggest right now is using a screen capture program like Loom to record your Scene. I've looked into adding this feature directly into FlipFlip, but it is not trivial, and it made more sense to take advantage of existing 3rd party tools.
What would be really awesome is if I could figure out a way to generate a video of N minutes with a scene without having to actually play the Scene for N minutes. I'm not sure how I would accomplish this yet, but I've definitely been looking into it.
Hey, sorry for the late reply, was out of town this weekend
Unfortunately, this falls into the same category as other requests to record FlipFlip rendering. I've looked into this, and there is no great way of accomplishing this easily across platforms, and even when it does work it can only screen capture an entire screen and not just the FlipFlip window.
Therefore, I'd highly recommend finding a decent 3rd-party tool for taking screen shots/screen recordings -- (personally, I like Loom).
I may, however, be able to at least implement keyboard shortcuts for copying the actual file to the clipboard, but I'll have to look into that. 👍
