This one fits it perfectly (it's about 10 inches too long - you can cut it down, or just center the bike on it) and is inexpensive:
The seat Echelon ships isn’t great, but a bigger seat isn’t necessarily the answer long-term, either. But it will feel better initially, for sure. After your sit bones get used to biking, though, you’ll probably want to go back to a smaller seat, especially for speed work and longer sessions on the bike - less contact with the seat means less friction and discomfort. You really will get used to it after a few weeks, even the Echelon seat… although there are much better ones out there. My wife and I settled on this one as a compromise:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000W7DAG2/
Bigger than the seat the bike shipped with, and the gel cover makes it more comfortable. But not as big as the oversized seats you see out there. It’s fine for me, and it’s much better for her, although on my outdoor bike bike I prefer a smaller performance seat.
I have tried a couple and this one is great:
Wittkop Comfort Gel Bike Seat with Innovative 3 Zone Concept I Soft Padded Bicycle seat for Men and Women, Wide Bike Saddle for Exercise in- & Outdoor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BH2XDGH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AXJT43JHPY096MY64HJY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It’s much larger and much more comfy. It was super easy to switch out too.
I had a noise on my EX4. I replaced the Echelon pedals after the screw head sheared off the clip and the problem disappeared. I ended up with these; very pleased. (Note: I needed dual SPD/cages because not everyone in my house has clipless). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NKFPGPC/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just my personal opinion, I do not use Echelon app since I have found out about qdomyos-zwift app. I have purchased it and I do not have any regret. You can use your Sport Connect bike with Zwift too if one wants. If you buy the digital membership from Peloton this app also shows the converted resistance from Peloton to Echelon, which is not straight 3 to 1, it is kind of hyperbolic curve, not a straight conversion, since the wheel is way lighter than Peloton and the magnets are very different.
The qdomyos app is here (not sure if there is a free version):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cagnulen.qdomyoszwift&hl=en_CA&gl=US
It is better and it is running on any tablet or phone, no issues here.
I have a Samsung Tab E as well, but I have upgraded the firmware from xda-developers site with LineageOS to the latest Android, since the tablet itself runs only Android 4.1 I think and it is useless. Now it is running Echelon, Peloton, any new and updated software. Maybe it is worth to have a look if your tablet can be updated through a 3rd party firmware. You can brick your tablet very easily, though, so read everything several times before upgrading.
Happy cycling!
For the bike seat I replaced it with this seat. Someone on reddit recommended it. Works out well...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NVR9Y7F?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
For the seat height ur legs should be slightly bent at the bottom of the pedal travel. Handlebars should be roughly the same level as the seat. There are some YouTube videos on proper spin bike heights. Can't remember exactly which one.
I also had to buy two sided (clipless and cages) because my spouse doesn't ride with clipless. These are the ones I ended up getting. I am very pleased with how beefy they are; much less plastic than the lousy Echelon stock pedals and my shoes clip in like they have with every other pair of SPD pedals I have ever owned (exluding of course the Echelon stock pedals). Be aware these pedals keep changing in price. I bought them for 89.99 and since then they've been anywhere from there to like $128. No clue why the price is so variable. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NKFPGPC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got those. They have the cage on one side and the clips on the other side. Then just get some spin shoes that are spd compatible, you will also need the cleats.
Hi Robert, thanks for providing a workaround for everyone here!
Just wanted to check two points with you:
Some people cut a pool noodle and put that on the handlebars to get an extra inch or two.
They also sell handlebar extenders, but I've mostly seen those for Peletons. I haven't tried them, so I don't know that they wouldn't fit, but it's worth a shot!

It does become noisy with time but you can eliminate the squeeks, etc by spraying oil on the springs where they mate onto the bottom of the seat. Been rocking it for the past year and a half with no other issues.
I ordered this gel seat cover and it made a big difference.

After a while your arse will get used to it however lol.
Here is what I bought for my seat. Mind you I have 300lbs(hence why I bought the bike). Zacro Bike Seat Cushion https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H71AZ36/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_F8WD3HCB5W0AEQMVARA2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Mirroring or trying to cast it to your TV sucks. The above works like a charm for Echelon and all the related apps that you can possibly think of.
This is the pedal I went with. Same bike.
BESTYMXY Bike Pedals Road Bike Pedals Ultralight Pedals Compatible with Shimano SPD-SL + Cleat Set + Cleat Covers, 3 in 1SPD-SL cleat set
The SPD clips were missing from my pedals as well. I just purchased similar pedals with the clips on eBay for about $28 including shipping: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pedals-Shimano-SPD-Compatible-for-Spin-Indoor-Bikes-JD-004-JD-304-/325063334421?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
I also found pedals with the SPD clips on Amazon but for $55: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08737G5WD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_SRZ6JGMPBH25VA298V5W
We have this one and it has worked well for all 4 of our Echelon bikes:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08K76ZR27
IIRC we only paid $35 so, it's more expensive right now.
i got this one from amazon. i like it! it helps a lot Bikeroo Bike Seat Cushion 11in x 7in Padded Gel Bike Seat Cover, Compatible with Peloton, Adjustable for Men & Womens Comfort on Stationary Exercise and Universal Bicycle Seats https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQ1UF1E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_WMZMPQKDHK77VC06CFBX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You just bought a "uxcell D-A93 Inductive Proximity Sensor Switch Detector NO DC 6-36V 100mA 2-Wire", took out the old one and put in the new one and the bike worked again to track cadence?? Just looking to clarify.
The mount is from Amazon and they are all wired separately. Vivo Steel Universal TV pole mount
Looks like this might be what you're after?
Some people have recommended putting pool noodles on the handlebars.
Amazon has one that is made for a Peleton that might work with a little customizing:
While Echelon actually has very nice shoes I’d recommend replacing the stock pedals with dual cleat pedals to have flexibility and getting delta shoes. Much easier to deal with.

Yes - open it up and there is a tiny sensor that in mine was not working. I tested it with a multi-meter after cutting it to verify (let me know if you need help on this).
The piece needed was something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CWR9F6G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very cheap, just use some splices and electrical tape and mine was good as new.
You have the take the plastic covers off, you will need to remove the pedals which requires a crank puller - something like the below amazon link (probably cheaper locally, if you aren't lazy like me).
After that you will see the resistance flywheel underneath. There is, or should be, a magnet or screw on that flywheel that will align with a sensor that you will see wire tied and connected via wire to the bike computer at the base of the pedestal.
I'm not mechanically inclined at all so if I can figure this out - you should be able to as well! I'll help as much as I can to prevent another of these from hitting the landfill over a $10 item.

The white handle has fallen off the bolt and when you put the white handle back on, it never catches the splines on the bolt? Is that correct?
If that is the case, then what you need is some long plier to grip the bolt and remove it. Then you need to replace with a new part. This is the type of pliers that would be ideal. Note, it will put marks on the bolt but you are going to have to replace it anyway.

Try these, and they come with cleats. On Amazon.
Bought these from Amazon - work great - no need for a large mat.

These $120 Venzo pedals are slightly over your budget but will give you all the options you’ll ever need and are a huge improvement over the Echelon pedals. They also have one for around $90 with less options.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086PK4Q4K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not sure if it is available in the UK or not, but it does exactly what you are asking. Wristband, connects to the App, inexpensive, and it works!!
So, I installed them and clipped in with the Echelon SPD shoes on the first try. I will say that the Delta system looks a lot more convenient, so I’ll probably swap the shoes, even though they are very nice as far as shoes go.
Amazon had same day delivery in my area. This is the one I got, so I’d have all options. Venzo Repacked Compatible with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0821WXRCB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Buy new pedals that come with the clips - then you're good to go. A lot of the pedals on Amazon come with the clips to attach to your shoe that are compatible with the pedal. The ones I got were these: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NKFPGPC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This set of pedals has gone up significantly in price since I got them, but there are alternatives that are similar out there that you can buy that also come with the clips.
The pedals that come on the 4S (The Costco Model) have both a cage and clips. Not sure if you can get them separately or not. I see a few options on Amazon, but have no idea how good or bad they are. Wellgo WPD-E003 Shimano Compatible Indoor Bike Pedals
I have the 4S. Considering you get a full year of the app with this model, I’d say it’s worth it even if you don’t plan on using the screen. It’s attached with a standard 75mm VESA mount, so you can even remove it and add your own larger screen, as long as you find one with the mount toward the bottom. This 27” curved screen, for example, should work:

The first one is for SPD cleats. The second are delta cleats. You maybe able to find other cheaper ones on Amazon.
It is and you can. I purchased this seat last week because my big butt was struggling on the thin one it came with. Easy install and works so much better.

Did you return yours? I bought a 27" curved monitor for $160 from Amazon that mounts to the existing bike perfectly (same hole pattern, you just need 4 m4x8mm bolts) and then use Roku to stream. It fits perfect and is totally immersive...

Great Setup!! I just got my bike set up a few days ago but I have yet to get it to pair with my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 64 GB Wifi Tablet Black (2019). It shows up on my Samsung s9 phone in the list of Bluetooth devices but not on the tab at least not by name. Both devices have Android 10 and the latest updates. Did you have any trouble pairing it with your Tablet?
