These are some of my foraging bag wants: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B12MBDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_0582GCRFTNP2NNKR99PF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I like that it's water resistant and folds up. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079YHP63G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_F5AXGY38XTBBFC8FGJHD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I like this one because of waterproof liner, dropout bottom, wearable on the front of the body and a rigid mouth that stays open.
Thank you! It's super simple. You can get the jars and lights from Amazon. The lights have a little loop in the end, so I got some black 20 gauge hobby wire and drove one end through the cork stopper and twisted to make a hook to hang the lights on. I just ordered another 24 jars because it worked so well.
Yes! I think this is a great question. Fellow mycology nerd here.
Anything by David Arora. I've read that Arora is the mycology nerd go to. He's an expert and has a great sense of humor.
Field guides are great too, they usually always include a bit of biology and terminology that's good for beginers.
I have "The Lives of Fungi: A Nautral History of Our Planets Decomposers. Its fantastic.
you don't have to get it from amazon, the link just has the information so you can find it.
You don't really have to have "The mushroom Book" to get started. Mycology is awesome, but Fungi are complex. Even experts still don't really know anything about Fungi.
If you are interested in foraging for mushrooms, etc. the best thing to do is find a foraging group or weekend seminar thingy and go. The best way to learn how to identify them is to just inteact with them in the wild.
Books wise, buy the books that interest you. I have a collection of field guides for California and the Pacific Northwest. I got the Lives of Fungi book because I fell in love with it as soon as I opened. I have a small collection of Arora books based on other mycology nerd suggestions and the nerds were not wrong. If I'm in a Library or Bookstore, I always hit up the Natural History section to see what they have regarding mushrooms, fungi and all the other weird Natural History stuff I love.
Not sure about the US but in Australia we have these bags: https://www.amazon.com.au/Messenger-Vaschy-Resistant-Shoulder-Commuter/dp/B08BFQ4Z7R/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=1J2FHL5L6AGMP&keywords=vaschy+messenger&qid=1668041723&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjczIiwicXNhIjoiMy4zOCIsInFzcCI6IjIuODUifQ%3D%3D&sprefix...
They also do a couple of smaller ones as well. They’re tough, waterproof, light, and have a million pockets.
Go on a hiking trail or a national park!
Here's what I found searching in S. Korea
Bring gloves and an airtight container of some kind maybe some airtight plastic bags. If you can, try hiking off the beaten path (if you can do this safely).
It may take you a while to find remains but eventually you will if you keep at it. I would really recommend doing some research on how to safely handle animal coprses. There are a lot of nasty things that can be on dead animals. However if you're not squeamish it is definitely possible to do things like harvest roadkill and bleach the bones. just make sure you're familiar with the law in your area, I know in the US in some areas it's illegal to take dead animals.
You can also visit local farms. They are likely to have varying degrees of animal remains if you wanted a chicken skull or goats horns or something like that.

If you want to look at a beautiful illustrated mushroom book I would check out Funginarium: Welcome to the Museum. It’s a large book, 11 x 15 inches, so 22 x 15 when it’s open. It’s a series and we have the one on plants and I love it so much. It’s such an effective and beautiful way to learn through pictures, diagrams, and captions.
... I found it
MindWare Mushroom Shaped Kids Playhouse Tent – Gnomes and Fairy Play - PVC and Fabric Matrial - Over 5 Feet Tall https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09GCK7HXN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_M4XA397JG5F75QXPB9KD
The connection is pretty tenuous and, if you subtract Harry Potter from your search, there's little online that reflects any direct connection. Though, i did come across this book Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins: 25th Anniversary Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/0823431940/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_YEZ33EW08PH5Q8SDDRNT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
In which a Jewish folk hero outsmarts a bunch of troublesome goblins.
I don’t know how serious you are but I wanted some too and this is the only place I can find them listed to buy:

Ohhh, okay. I got the two frog stickers from an etsy blind box so I, unfortunately, don't know where they came from or who drew them. The soot sprites came from a friend who bought a set of 3 from amazon. Here's the link to those.
this is the blanket I use and you can cut it down to fit your size and I'd really recommend only woven wool
And here's a good gobliny pin
they came from a garden centre a few years ago, mine were made by a company called blue diamond, however after a quick google search I found some that look almost exactly the same on amazon:
I don't have any bones, but I found these so I thought I could do something with those and some rocks and shells I have, plus some big crystals or something.
I've been in love with this guy https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bristol-Novelty-AK049-Rubber-Toad/dp/B003VOFVTM/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=rubber+toad&qid=1617566641&sr=8-3 forever sigh. Can't justify buying him though - he's BIG and HEAVY and I'm moving house again soon, but one day my toad will come home! One day...
