I had blinking issues on my 84 Goldwing. Would sometimes not blink or only after bike had warmed up for a while. Installed a electronic flasher in place of the original analog one. Blinkers work perfect. Even better, is I replaced all the bulbs on the bike with LED later and it still works perfect. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073J82PNF
I have a 2018. The 1st thing I did was update it after I bought it a little while ago. I use Android auto so I had to. The built in navigation is terrible compared to Android auto. My issue is how long it takes my Sena unit to connect to the bike. If you don't want a communication unit on your helmet and still want Android auto or Apple Carplay, you'll need to buy a couple of inexpensive items from Amazon.
1 is a Bluetooth car adapter. I bought this one. Bluetooth Car Adapter, BAVNCO... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DRMS57Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The next thing will be a USB splitter so you can connect the car adapter and your phone. I bought this one. Onvian USB Splitter Cable Male to... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KX4TKH6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Doing this will allow you to use Android auto without a com unit on your helmet. The car adapter is acting as the com unit.
So far its great. Putting the wheel back was easier than taking it off. Mainly because the rear tire that was on there, I probably rode it relatively flat for quite a while and, it was old and stiff.
This is the tire I put on there.

Guy at the tire shop said it took over 100psi to seat the bead.
I went with these and they work out pretty well. Show Chrome Accessories (52-944 Bungee Seat Tie-Downs for GL1800 2018-19 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N9J8M97/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_ATFWHW6NAJNDCXQYYQA9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

this is handy for many things- including throwing a shadow.
Any flashlight you can get near the spokes- look for the shadow of the stem on the ground.
What I want to know, why are the stems always in the lean in side? the underneath side?
my kickstand down when seated, bike leans left-- so too the air stem..
if it leaned right- easier to access--- WHY HONDA WHY?
I can't find the video but I found the parts I used in my history.

I just received the receiver today, and its plugged into the bikes usb and connected as a headset. My phone is connected to the bike too.

I don't get the option for Android Auto even though my bike is fully updated.
What am I doing wrong?
Edit I most likely figured it out. I have to power the receiver separately so I'll have to order a usb splitter that is capable of transmitting data.

I have an 86 Interstate that the stereo didn't work on either. I took the whole thing out and replaced with a Kenwood system and 4" Kicker speakers. The new amp will fit perfect where the old amp was https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UTXQL74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_z4kiFb8SKEJEF
I've rewired a few geldings but I don't think I've ever done anything custom with the starter button tbh.

Replacing the solenoid is a common thing however, especially with the older GL1000 and GL1100s.

Usually, since OEM is nearly impossible to get unless used, you'll end up with one of a few Chinese knock-offs from amazon or the like.

https://www.amazon.com/AHL-Starter-Solenoid-GL1000-Goldwing/dp/B0194DA5P8 This is the one that I typically go for.

What you should be looking for is whether the alignment is the same. The reason why is a bit hard to explain in words vs. me drawing a picture (Which I don't have the ability to do right now.). However, I'll try to explain anyways.
In the solenoid, connected to the positive post, there is a metal piece which connects to the two plug posts closest to the battery post, intertwined with the fuse.

If it works properly NOW (assuming that the only thing wrong with the solenoid is the internal electromagnetic rod) then when you replace the solenoid with the new one the only thing you have to worry about is making sure that the plugs are in the same relative positions.
I'm bad with written instructions. If nobody else can help you then send me a message and we can zoom / Skype / FaceTime / phone call / I'll draw you a picture.

Good luck
Here's what I did for my '02 Wing.
Install a 12V Cigarette lighter in your left front pocket. Add a 2-port (or more) USB charger to it. Connect a Bluetooth to 3.5mm Receiver like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Firefly-Bluetooth-Receiver-Smallest-Streaming/dp/B01HDO66PS/. Plug that into your 3.5mm aux and your USB charger. Plug your phone in and mount it somewhere on your handlebar. If you have the tools and either the stubbornness or know-how, you can buy the parts and wire it yourself. I bought all my connectors and pins from Eastern Beaver and made a custom assembly.
The only difference is I use two more things, a GLI(Ground Loop Isolator) to get rid of some of the static feedback (this lowers the volume) and a USB-powered amplifier (this increases the volume back up then plus some), since the old Wings are more known to have low powered amps. I can hear my music perfectly still with the volume at 28 traveling 90+ mph down the highway.
