Oh man, IDK if you'll get anywhere near lager pitching temps using my method. Coming from boil or hop stand temps to the high 60's - low 70's (fahrenheit) range is the best I can manage.
This is the cooler I use. It holds 57 liters. I use this 1/4 HP pump and I haven't had a problem with it. Only down side is the lack of water flow adjustment coming from the pump into the chiller. I let the water pump go 100% and adjust the wort output using the knob from the Grainfather pump into the chiller.
I abandoned the malt pipe as a solo thing long ago, and instead use these bags, which fit perfectly in the malt pipe (so I don't have to put on the lid and worry about the flow through tube). It's basically BIAB now.
Tragically it looks like those bags are out of stock now, but maybe there's another similar style around.
I bought a reducer and some 1/4" ID hose to connect to the liquid post (you can use standard beer line hose). Also you'll need some clamps for the hose.
You need something like this, you can find your exact size online: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07PMQQPT8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_CSV62N95BK1RPHV2H576

I bought these from Amazon in June 2018 and they've been perfect for 20+ brews. Absolutely no rust or degradation. It's a 2 pack so I use them both in a crisscross pattern over the overflow.
I just used my stove and bout a 16qt Pot from Amazon. Worked perfect. You could even get fancy and drill a hole and put a valve in and it could be gravity fed too. It was $35!!!

I have also cold sparked for the first time and had no issues. Was a 9-11lbs of grain.
i use the heat delay and heat the strike water and sparge water together. then before i mash i use the pump and take out the sparge water and put in a cooler ( https://www.amazon.com/Igloo-Gallon-Seat-Beverage-spigot/dp/B000FDXEN2/ref=sr_1_12?crid=1BNXXYIJMXUF3&keywords=igloo%2Bcooler&qid=1558019690&s=gateway&sprefix=igloo%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-12&th=1&psc=1 ) it keeps it hot. its not 167 degrees but its close and i figure its better than sparging with cold water.
I like this a lot, I'll be purchasing this very soon. Two questions though: what tool did you use to cut the mesh, and does this slow down the rate of your sparge?
I just found one on CL for $50 (supposedly used twice). It's $80 brand new from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Proctor-Silex-45100-Brushed-Aluminum/dp/B01AC3SUR4
I just need to figure out how to mount it right over the brew basket for when I'm sparging.
I bought a heat stick to help with the boil and it boils quite nicely now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BDB4UG/ref=s9_simh_gw_g469_i4_r?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=1S0G8JPEZT1W9E7JJR0T&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2079475242&pf_rd_i=desktop
