Everything you say fits the handwriting.
For printers, emotions are all or nothing, a flood or a peep. And it mostly peeps and seldom floods.
Being consciously aware of your patterns is a big step towards recovery and getting stronger.
Getting more in touch with feelings without feeling shame is also empowering.
If you did not recognize the dysfunction in your family, I suspect much of the abuse was subtle. Subtle abuse bypasses the conscious mind and goes directly into the subconscious. The child or parent do not realize that abuse is going on. It is very difficult to identify and treat.
