Yes! I googled it because waking up to the sound of teeth chewing metal drove me insane. I got this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EJXR0M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_rFjTFbEPPQB51
It lasted a little over year before I replaced it with the same one, but I have kids that touch it and mess with it so the plastic connector cracked. I chose this because I could install it myself and was not a whole process to get it on.
You definitely should! We actually just got her a new one that’s a bit bigger (from the same brand) and we love it! Here’s the link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K5GL6MD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_8532Fb6QHFK5Y
I got the Lixit Faucet and I did not have to wait for His Highness to finish drinking and shut off the tap. I did have to get out of bed every day at midnight, just cause he felt like he needed a drop of water.
We ended up replacing half the faucets in the house with this 😊
$20 off amazon and it’s the best.

I use a slip lead like this one.
She's not allowed to get her shoulder in front of my hips or she gets a pop on the lead and a "get back." Usually she's very good about it. Did some personal training sessions with a trainer. It was a little bit of a learning curve, but now she's great. Don't even have to hold the lead unless there are other dogs around. Just the vocal command is enough.
Also had some leash aggression issues though so we got an e-collar as well. Now she's super well behaved when she has the e-collar on and I usually only have to show her the remote to get her to behave (let alone beep/vibrate/zap).
It’s this one!
I bought it in feb 2020 and it is great. It’s super supportive and twiggy seems to think it’s very comfy! The washable cover and waterproof liner are great too, I would highly recommend!
Make sure you get the right size. My 5-year old child can now control my former Great Dane freight train. Make sure you read the instruction for putting it on correctly…you’ll notice the difference immediately.
These are awesome. With our two Danes, we used the collar to get them home. Then we put them in this suit. Makes life so much easier, and you only have to undo the straps and roll it up to allow them to use the bathroom.
It's a Halti headcollar. It seemed more thick around the snout compared to other designs.
Couple of suggestions:
A Pee Post might help direct her to the area. The issue though with the grass is the nitrogen in the urine. To much nitrogen is going to kill the grass. You can try sodding with a more deep-rooted grass like fescue (huge $$$ where I live so I didn't do it). I ended up just giving up. It was mainly my female lab who was doing it (my male dane pees on bushes and trees)
this is what i have!! fits the 54 inch kennel perfect also best price for this size and it’s so comfy i would sleep on it if needed lol
It gets amazing reviews on Amazon. the first bad review was simply because their dog didn't like it. I can't say out of personal experience, but of 93 reviews, 72% were 5 star.
Maybe consider a hitch step for your Dane? We have one we got off Amazon for around $110, something to consider.
We have a 110lb Anatolian and it does her just fine. However, you can purchase one on Amazon that is extra large that we also have as well! Here is that link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076VSDH8Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tKNRCbM0DMKXB
This bed is HUGE. I could lay on it and sleep comfortably. I hope this one is a little more of what you’re looking for! 😊
We’ve had really good luck with this: Monster K9 Ultra Durable ChewRing- Lifetime Replacement Guarantee - Dog Toy for Large Breed Dogs & Aggressive Chewers - Strong, Durable, Tough, Interactive Natural Rubber Chew Toy for Super Chewers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K7VMBFT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_hjFKFb3TPXPEE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Its lasted a year+ with our Bullies and our Dane.
I started young with my Dane. I would put him in the shower once a week and wet him, then reward him for it. He loves baths. All I have to say is “it’s time for a bath.” And he goes to the bathroom and gets in on his own. However, I started when he was about 4 months old.
I’ve seen adds for wall suctions for dogs with bath anxiety, if your dog is older and food motivated maybe you could try easing him into by starting with him just going in to the bath, then adding water, and finally after awhile giving him a full bath.

I purchased blue (it’s her color, clearly lol… she knew her name already when I rescued her so I kept it… but I’ve embraced it) and black & white since it matches our bedding. Our bedding since I so graciously am allowed to sleep on a small sliver of her king sized bed. 😂
(Sorry if this double posts. Reddit yelled at me that it didn’t work on the first attempt.)
Couch cover has been my solution, although mine is 3 and a rescue so we never had to deal with the puppy stage. We bought 2 that we rotate out to wash periodically. It's this one on Amazon .
Otherwise, I'd go with leather and make sure to clip the claws regularly.
We went through a few different foods with our pup. He's just about 2 yrs old now and has the great Dane sensitive tummy for sure. We switched to https://www.chewy.com/diamond-care-sensitive-stomach/dp/170123 a couple months ago and it seems to be working well for him.
Our Dane did terribly with a cone (pretty much froze up) we ended up using a Bitenot collar and it worked perfectly. It allowed him to see and move while restricting his ability to lick the incision.
105 6.5 months.
That definitely isn’t the XXL crate. They make a bigger one.
To add, I used this book for training our dog and it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend for any dog owner. It teaches you the basic principles of positive reinforcement training, why it’s more effective than punishment, and goes over everything from small party tricks to loose leash walking to treating problem behavior.
It depends on if you are starting from scratch or not. If you are, try picking a word like "heel", and you might have to say it very loudly in the beginning. I strongly recommend the leash with a handle at the front and at the back. That way you can hold one hand tight to his neck, and the other like a normal leash.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-Petcore-Traffic-Reflective-Training/dp/B07D49W6HG/
I've been able to train most of my families 6 great danes on my own, but our last one just wouldn't listen to anything. Went to my first puppy class, and it was awesome (Deep Penninsula Dog Training). The best exercise was getting the dog to sit or lay down while 19 other dogs walked by. You had to use your restraint word ("Heel") or a small treat to keep him from moving. A lot of times the dane will look at you before he barks, so it is another way to get him to stop.
If your dane is food aggressive, I think that type of training would work as well.
The toy i bought when she was a puppy that she loved to suckle and love nibble on
For harnesses I like Kurgo and Ruffwear. Both have bigger sizes and handles on the back of them.
My regular leash is a bungee lead with two handles on it double handled leash and then my long line is just 25ft of nylon tied to a leash clip lol.
For headcollars I like the halti brand since it also has the safety strap that clips to the collar in case they get the head collar off.
I had good luck with these https://www.amazon.com/Nylabone-Puppy-Chew-Teething-Rings/dp/B002C7GQ0C (they don't last long and I wouldn't let them have them unattended) but in the end of the day, a cotton cloth, tied in a very tight knot, wet and put in the freezer as an attended toy helped the best. =)
Personal advice from my giant chested doofus that just had gastropexy...go with the external sutures if it's not too late. Internal sutures didn't hold, so they were reinforced with staples which also didn't hold. External sutures to the rescue.
Focus on no running, no licking, no nothing. This suit helped tremendously as well.
Raised bowl with a wide rim. Something like this, but even taller if possible:
I noticed they fling it around a bit less not having to lean down as much.
Then, beneath this item get a large map with a raised rim, like something for muddy boots in a foyer/mud room, and put that under the dish.
Between the two, minimal spillage outside of the two containers (there will still be some you have to live with, it's a Dane).
My grandoggy is a Dane that’s allergic too, and my daughter uses this. It works good on him. https://www.chewy.com/k9-advantix-ii-flea-tick-spot/dp/103376?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12793781907&utm_content=K9%20Advantix%20II&utm_term=&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V2fuxH49Qs5svc53DGe8o-au&gclid=EAIaIQ...
i started washing (with dawn) the water bowl daily with water changes. she is also taking this supplement and i’ve seen a HUUUGE change in her face acne. i give her two with breakfast and two with dinner, there is a weight size chart on the container. https://www.chewy.com/zesty-paws-salmon-bites-salmon/dp/151828?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12791146288&utm_content=Zesty%20Paws&utm_term=&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V2QIzKR5G7OTtb4HJ6kw0PTE&gclid=EAIaIQobChM...

Works like a charm.

Couple posts asking about which ramp, I got this one 7 years ago and am still using it. It works pretty well, we just have to accept a ramp that supports a Dane is going to be a little bulky.
I hate to be that person. But it does seem pretty irresponsible to not neuter your male. And they do sell dog chastity belts

thats the one i ordered. it came with a cheap plastic garden hose splitter, would definitely recommend looking for a different hose splitter.
Thank you! Definitely came up with it on the fly. But holy cow it has been the best thing. The washcloths are made from bamboo. So no blockage will occur. But he’s been chewing on this for a while now and it just has little holes in it. He’s not ripped off any pieces yet. It doesn’t melt that fast.

Tried the mattress thing with my Dane, she crushed it. Broke and bought the best reviewed bed I could research and it’s help up to her very high standards and weight lol. I can tell it helps with her joints and she loves it. It comes super compressed, and you have to insert the “mattress” yourself. It takes some time for the foam to absorb the air around it… but once it does, it’s super solid, great material. Bolsters are solid. She doesn’t really make a slobber mess in the bed, so I can’t speak for cleaning… but they vacuum nice. Price is tough, but the quality is there imo
I drizzle a tablespoon of this on our greyhound-dane mix's food in the morning. Like your Dane she has VERY specific opinions on what she deems edible. We live in PNW and elk is abundant and she has a hard NO on anything elk cooked or raw.
Hope this works for you.

He loves them and they are easy on his stomach.
Not exactly a toy, but I recommend doing some indoor scent training with her. It saved us this summer when we had to bring our girl to phoenix for 2 months, and she couldn’t go outside for more than a few minutes between the hours of 8am and 9pm. It wore her out and definitely kept her engaged. I used this book to start: https://www.amazon.com/Canine-Kingdom-Scent-Activities-Instincts/dp/1929242727/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1AUUCAU2T6KWU&keywords=dog+scent+training+book&qid=1641528945&sprefix=dog+scent+training+book%2Caps%2C123&sr=8-3
It is life changing. We have one of these for both of our Danes.
See lots of people posting the halti. Looks a little different but accomplishes same thing. Not sure which is better.
I got mine this one: http://www.costco.com/.product.100170496.html?cm_sp=RichRelevance-_-categorypageHorizontalTop-_-CategoryTopProducts&cm_vc=categorypageHorizontalTop|CategoryTopProducts Lately he has even preferred it to the couch or my bed! He's not full grown yet so I'm not sure he'll fit it long term (he's 8 month now), but it is bigger than a crib mattress and he refuses to use the crib mattress I got him because it makes noises when he shifts.
My Dane didn't live long enough to need this. However, my 85 lb Husky did. He tore his ACL and meniscus. We had plates added to his knee to prevent tearing again. (Not overweight, just abnormally large.)
Stairs are a huge problem. We used this sling. SGT KNOTS Support Harness Pet Sling for Dogs Sheepskin Rehabilitation Lift with Adjustable Nylon Straps - for Hip Assist Stability, Injured, Disabled, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E0FLT8C/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_hIF6iFEZgUqFe
We were able to use it while he was drugged. When he wasn't it was more difficult. Stubborn and independent. As your dog walks down the stairs you pull up on on the sling. This prevents them from placing weight on their injured leg(s). You aren't lifting a full 160+ pounds. It is workable. The wool is soft and prevents chafing.
We had tramadol to help keep him calm... again husky. I suspect I would have needed it for my Dane too if he had the same surgery.

Also any other interactive you that you put some food in. Kong brand has great options.
Does she have the PIG?
Cosequin. It helps mine who’s 6 and has trouble with a simple sit. You can buy it at Costco is bulk or Amazon. I’d just check the Amazon reviews to make sure it isn’t a fake product. I worry about fake products from Amazon a lot lol.
You should look into the slopper stopper. You might have to revise your setup slightly because they’re tough to get into a stand like that one, but they legitimately cut down on about 85% of the slobber. I’m not going to lie and say 100%. There’s still slobber, but it’s wayyyyyyy better. My Dane’s old signature move was to finish drinking, but then take one more giant mouthful of water, for good luck, I suppose. Then instead of swallowing that mouthful, he would open his mouth and throw his head to the side, essentially soaking my entire universe. The slopper stopper has been game-changing. Great support too. They replaced an old gasket that was leaking air and also the black silicone cap that my dog ate.

We have been using this stuff from Costco for a pretty long time now. It's pretty inexpensive compared to others we've found at least, although we've never tried tablets. This recommends 1 teaspoon (4.5 g) per 20 lbs of dog, so for Remy that is about 6-7 pumps (3 - 3.5 tsp) per meal (last time we weighed him he was ~140) since we feed twice daily. The nutritional information provided on the bottle is as follows:
Guaranteed analysis per teaspoon
Crude Fat (min) – 99%
Moisture (max) - .5%
Omega-3 Fatty Acids* (min) – 1319 mg – 32%
DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid)* (min) – 500 mg – 12%
EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid)* (min) – 455 mg – 12%
Omgea-6 Acids* (min) –136 mg – 3%
Arachidonic Acid* (min) – 45 mg – 1%
If my math is right, each 32 oz bottle should have about 384 pumps, so at 6 pumps per meal this should theoretically last us about 32 days. We have multiple dogs though, so I'm not sure how accurate that is.

It depends on how much you want to spend. There is a company that makes custom and large breed coats (I believe out of Australia but ships worldwide). I have not ordered from them yet but a couple of Danes I follow on Instagram do and their coats are really nice. Here is the link: https://www.mila-me.com/.
I had this coat for last year that fit our Dane but she is petite with a deep chest (110 lbs and 38 inches around the chest). It actually fits well and is fleeced lined. This one is the one I bought on Amazon in a two pack. I have them set up on each side of my car depending on which side Luna settles on when she gets in since they’re not quite long enough to be comfortable if she decides to move to the other side as she gets settled in for the ride. I don’t have it clicked into the seat belt buckles though, instead I looped the buckle part through child car seat metal brackets in the backseat area because my seats are put down so that she has a lot of room (you can sorta tell in the middle right side of the first photo

It's a Coolaroo XL elevated pet bed. I found it on Amazon here. We've had it for a few years, and it's held up pretty well with the exception of a small quarter sized hole in the canvas. I think you can even buy a replacement cover.
I have tried a couple different types that I like. The first kind is from Pawz and can be found on Amazon. The size XL is sufficient for my 2 Danes and German Shepherd. We use them for potty breaks since they are waterproof/mud proof, and you can extend the life by patching up holes with duct tape.
I also like the brand Ultra Paws and they can also be found on Amazon. I have them in a size large and they fit all my dogs, though they are a tad tight on my largest Dane's front paws.
We frequently take our Dane camping and she lounges on a coolaroo dog cot. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001HX4294/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_I9eLCbP84JQFT less than $30 on Amazon. We disassemble it so it fits nicely in the car and reassemble once we set up camp!

For a more permanent bed, I got the FurHaven jumbo sized bed. Its $50 on amazon and around $40 on groupon. My dane likes it

Build yourself a pet waste composter out of a big round trash bin. Just dig a hole, put in some drainage rock, and once you start filling it up you can add a bunch of worms (or they will find it on their own). Search online, there are a bunch of DIY guides, pretty simple.
For picking up the piles get yourself a good scooper like this one...

Its actually a climbing mountain structure for my kids. Spent way too much for it on Amazon. Here's a link
The dog bed itself was a Costco purchase, Kirkland signature brand. I think it was 100

I have 2 Great Danes and I've found that their coats are not quite the same so the same brush can have different results. I really like the Zoom Groom (by Kong) for my Great Dane who is more prone to shedding. The yield can vary, but I typically can get lots of hair off. It doesn't work as well on my other Great Dane, but I think she has thinner hair. I haven't found anything that works great for her.
I have had some interest in this brush and it says it won't cut or damage the hair. People seem to like it.
This one works really well for us and fits our dane (110lbs, 1 yr). I would double check the measurements to make sure it will fit a super large dane as well :) Sleepypod ClickIt Sport... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792PH23V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
