I buy mainly through Amazon. Easy returns if it doesn't work. Also, many cams will state in there description rtsp/ONVIF compatability (or non-compatability). However, a visit to the QA section will often reveal other users success or failure. Just put ONVIF or rtsp in the seach box!
The PTZ cam I have is a Galayou G2 (https://www.amazon.com/Indoor-Security-Galayou-Storage-Assistant/dp/B0B1T8T1WD) . Cheap and I bought it on a whim to test out the AgentDVR PTZ features. An indoor cam. Really not a bad cam for about $25. So far, it works fine with the PTZ settings in AgentDVR (Scheduling and follow).
I am not a big spender on the cams. My sweet spot is between $25 and $35 per cam....or less. Of course, I am not too concerned about local security. I just like to watch the wildlife around the house, keep watch over the cats and dogs, etc. Figure if I get real serious, it will be easy enough to switch out the current cams for better models since the wiring and stuff will already be there. I still save the videos and alerts to my own server, so if there is some unsavory character lurking, I will have him on vid. My next project is to work with the pan cams to see how they work with Schedules.
Maybe my standards are a bit lower, but I have been very pleased with the Wansview/Galayou cams. They fit my pricing range and quality goals. (Less expensive cams means you can set up more cams!) Customer service via email is actually excellent. Responses are usually 12hrs or less and sometimes almost immediate if you send at the right time. All these inexpensive Chinese cams pretty much look alike, with similar features and nearly identical apps.
TLDR: Disabled PureVPN extension in client browser.
Not to resurrect this, but I had been struggling with this issue for a while as well. I've tried many things, almost too many to remember. Multiple physical hosts for the server, multiple different versions of windows / windows server / linux / docker etc. Difficult to nail down as sometimes it would work for a while then go back to the "Try another browser" error in Firefox, Chrome would sometimes say something along the lines of ICE. When using Windows for the server, I was always able to access the webUI from the server itself. I likely could on linux as well, but I generally don't install desktop managers on linux.
I had also change my network around to have client / server / devices all on the same subnet/vlan, thinking it could be a gateway thing or a firewall rule between them. I had created any to any rules on both interfaces to ensure I wasn't blocking any ports or protocols. I had also tried disabling firewalls on client and server OS, and disabling any antivirus software.
I was still able to access normally through the cloud side webUI, only within my local network was I having problems.
ANYWHO after mostly giving up and being pretty sure it was the client side having an issue, I disabled all extensions that could do anything to network / connections. This let me access the webUI normally. Enabling them one by one, PureVPN was the one that took it back to errors. I suppose it makes sense, I just hadn't thought the extension was really doing anything if it wasn't "active".

Hope this helps at least one other person :D
I was worried about the moscow thing too, but I read some of his discussions he had with people and he seemed to be on the up and up.
Also this app worked well for me...

could you try:
https://winaero.com/how-to-unblock-files-downloaded-from-internet-in-windows-10/
on the avdevice-58.dll file? possibly windows has decided to block it for some reason
it looks like you are using the agent app but the ispy client - the agent app connects to agent dvr not ispy.
So either install Agent DVR instead of ispy or use the mobile web interface at http://www.ispyconnect.com/mobile
it looks like you'll need to run the troubleshooter in ispy web settings if you want to continue with ispy.
Google play removed it because it had the word "spy" in it - recommend you complain to google about that. Pretty ridiculous.
You can still install it as a web app though on your phone - just open a web browser at http://www.ispyconnect.com/mobile/

I am using the low quality stream for Live and high quality for Record.
Live URL:
rtsp://(Username):(Password)%21@(IP Address):544/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1&unicast=true&proto=Onvif
Record URL:
rtsp://(Username):(Password)%21@(IP Address):544/cam/realmonitor?channel=0&subtype=1&unicast=true&proto=Onvif
I can't tell what the URL is when viewing the cameras in the Amcrest web UI but it seems to be the same.
I have tried rebooting the cameras but it appears to be an issue with the Agent software as I can view the streams in Amcrest web UI while they appear black in Agent.
The time it takes for the stream to go black has varied. I've now seen it happen moments after relaunching the Agent software to around 2 to 3 hours later.
I have tried the disable and enable option in the camera settings within the Agent software but the stream stays black. Also, while it is black it no longer detects and no longer records. Stopping and Starting the Agent local service now appears to bring the streams back up.
I'll play around with some settings and update with any findings. Since updating my VLC install the camera feeds have not gone black. They have been up for roughly 25 minutes. Thank you for the help thus far.
Camera Model: IP5M-T1179EW-28MM
Yep that definitely does not support ONVIF.
Look for something like this, around the same price:
Still should have a phone app to set it up initially then when you get its IP Address add it to iSpy (it'll likely already have found it). Also stick a 256G SD card in it and it'll record 24/7 locally for retrieval from your phone app.
Kinda cool...in the long run you'll find WiFi is not the way to go though and likely will want a POE camera wired to your POE Switch/PC.
Have fun!!
If you'd like, I can send you one (pm me?). I have two, and I only need one.
But I think it was this model, a coworker sent them to me.

I don’t know if they do. But the product page doesn’t make any mention of access to a RTSP feed. So you’d be taking a risk. I have the following, they are similar in specs and features, can be used wired or wireless and they work well with AgentDVR. They also provide a HD stream and SD substream.
Just open its IP address in internet explorer, download the activeX controls, and you are done.
Though arguably some "extra" settings like wifi aren't available there and will still require their trashy app.
