Just laid it like pin-striping tape and then cut the excess with scissors or exacto making sure not to scratch the paint. You can get whatever width you prefer. I used 1/2”. For the front lip I took it out, laid the tape, and put it back in for a cleaner look. The diffuser was the toughest part. Here’s the tape I used but there’s plenty of options from other brands like 3M.

If your a looking to change the color, just look up “color gels for lighting” on Amazon. Then cut them to shape and use some 3m tape to stick them on.
