Are you sure you are not thinking of Five Element Ninjas (aka Super Ninjas) They go through the five elements changing (altering by adding or removing items from) their weapons each time, one is water where they change their weapons into spears to stab into the water. One of my favorites and it's on Netflix
Trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-enqXPpcd4
Came here to post about this one. Sword Master is streamable on NetFlix. Really enjoyable, great martial arts action, and I thought it avoided a lot of the cliche tropes so often seen in these movies. Definitely recommend it!
Ha, sounds awesome. I can't answer your question, but watched something similar recently about a monkey girl who knows kung fu. Fully half the movie is dumb shenanigans and a My Fair Lady-esque plot, the other half is fights to the death. It's called Lady Iron Monkey and it's on Amazon Prime: https://www.amazon.com/Lady-Iron-Monkey-Fong-Ling/dp/B06VSHB13K/ref=pd_ys_iyr145
Oh yeah, what does your Chan collection look like? Do you have certain DVDs or box-sets? Blu-Rays? I've only ever rented them from my local DVD place.
Seems like this is a good option for a few of them?
I have both of Ric's books and he's a great reference for anyone getting into older Kung Fu films. Especially useful since he covers Chang Chieh era movies and earlier, which are hard to attain for most of us.
I personally disagree with him on how important John Woo's "gun fu" films were. And he lambasted Kill Bill while praising the Matrix while I feel like his arguments can be applied to both.
But those are nitpicks. I recommend picking up the book Films of Fury instead of the movie if you want more insight on HK action cinema history.
I picked it up from Amazon recently. https://www.amazon.com/Master-Flying-Guillotine-Two-Disc-Anniversary/dp/B0002ZDW8A/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=Master+of+the+flying&qid=1668704460&sr=8-2 Not the greatest quality, but will hold me over until a future release. Included a couple of interviews from Jimmy Wang Yu that we’re pretty good
There is also the Vengeance release DVD
The easiest way to get a non bootlegged release of questionable quality is the Asia Line #24 DVD. It was a double feature of Struggle Through Death and Invincible Armour.
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/John-Liu/dp/B07Z76LM7H/
The Ground Zero DVD is also good quality:

Note: You must have a multi-region blu ray player in order to watch this release, which is Region B!!!

Important: The above is the Region B release, so you must have an all-region blu ray player to play it if you are in the USA.
Hello, I'm a bot! The movie you linked is called Cìkè Niè Yinniáng, here are some Trailers
It's the Japanese Warner edition of DMII which contains a poster, booklet and some lobby cards, with 3 cuts of the film if I'm not mistaking. Incredible release. It appears it has completely vanished off of Blu-ray.com, but I found a listing for it on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Drunken-Digitally-Remastered-Ultimate-Collectors/dp/B07FMYGZNS
This is the Fortune Star release that I have and its a regular blu ray
If you're looking for physical copies, a good "jumping off point" is probably Blu-Ray.com. Use the searchbar at the top to type in the name of a film you want, and if a Blu-Ray or DVD copy of it exists, then it should appear in the listings. For best results, change the country selector to "All Countries" so you can basically search for physical releases across the globe (just in case only certain countries have the movie you want, meaning you could import it).
As for digital versions, try searching on JustWatch. When you type in the name of a film, it will search across all of the major digital storefronts and streaming services, and it will tell you which ones actually have the film you want. It's nice because it distinguishes between subscription-based sites, rental services, and regular purchase services (some of which overlap with each other). It will also give you useful data like whether the movie is available in SD, HD, or 4K.
If your issue is specifically audio/language-related, then I think you may have to just check around on a few of these sites and see if any of them actually contain the original audio. Otherwise, in my experience, your best bet for "original audio" is usually to buy a physical DVD/Blu-Ray since they contain far more audio options than streaming versions.
Hope that helps.
Kung Fu Killer and Dragon are really good. For me, these two movies are Donnie Yen's best.
I've been badly wanting to see The Final Master but have not been able to figure out how to see it online. If anyone can help, it would be really awesome.
This DVD has it. if the new Eureka! bluray has it though, you should get that, it's all region and cheaper than this!

What collections was it from?
https://www.amazon.com/All-New-Wu-Tang-Collection/dp/B000784WB8
The above is the first set, and here’s info for that and the second set:
Here's a list of the movies for those wanting to know:
Set 1 (1 - 5): 18 Fatal Strikes; Enter the Invincible Hero; Sleeping Fist; Fists of Legends 2; Shaolin Chastity Kung Fu;
Set 2 (6 - 10): Return of the Deadly Blade (1981) 10 Magnificent Killers Fury in Shaolin Temple Revenge of the Patriots Shaolin King Boxer
I think they are both good! The 108 minute one was the first one I saw. I just got the HK cut for completeness, and because I am usually dubious about editing stuff for US release. The top review on the amazon page (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ET2ODX0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title) does a good job of summing up the differences. Basically the US release is a little more focused than the HK release, but sacrifices some backstory.
Wong Kar-wai seems to have enjoyed revisiting it and re-editing it for the US release, unlike a lot of directors who complain about US edits. There is a relevant quote on the films wikipedia page. Weinstein is pretty notorious for demanding edits to movies though so I like to find the un-edited version when I can.
'Sanskrit and Japanese Mantras for martial arts' would be odd choices for Chinese martial arts, wouldn't they? Dan grades aren't really a Chinese TCM thing.
The OP's book is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LLCKQM9/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0
On his Amazon page he claims to have learned martial arts from the Ninjas of Japan, among other places.
I think this can safely be discounted and also seems like pretty shameless self-promotion.
The Warrior. I've seen it as Musa: the Warrior as well.
The main character uses a spear for most, if not all of his fight scenes. The trailer shows the main character using his spear.
Exactly. On the topic does anyone else have a hard time finding DVDs of classic movies that should be easy to find?
In the UK they have like every Jackie Chan movie remastered on Blu-ray with nice looking box art, and in America we have some bootlegged ass lookin DVDs that are rare and cost like $40.
For example Dragons Forever UK and Dragons Forever USA.
Is there a website you’d recommend for high quality kung fu DVDs?
Here's a close second if you are aching for a physical collection of his works. Though, no Enter the Dragon. Maybe it was because Warner Bros nixed the rights to the film?
If you're is looking for a good region A/NTSC version of this I highly recommend the Fortune Star bluray release. Its the Hong Kong version of the movie with English subtitles. I got my copy from amazon years ago and it looks like they still have it:
I just watched the The Street Fighter Collection released by Shout! Factory. Good Japanese Karate martial arts trilogy. I like that the main protagonist is not necessarily the "good" guy. The first two movies of the trilogy are great. The third movie is the weakest (in my opinion), but it is still good.
English dubbed? In the description it says Cantonese/Mandarin version, I’m guessing it refers to the extra scenes that was not in the western release?
I looked and I couldn't find it either, but you could check out the first episode and find out for yourself:
Yeah, here's the link to the Zataochi TV series on DVD:
I recommend getting the collections if you can find them for cheap, rather than volume by volume:
http://www.amazon.com/Zatoichi-Blind-Swordsman-Collection-1/dp/B0011NVC7U
You can pre-order Cult Cinema: An Arrow Video Companion from Amazon.com here.

From the CityOnFire article:
> The novelization of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny’s script will be released on January 26, 2016.
Here's the Amazon link for more information.
The Shaw Bros film Super Inframan sounds like exactly what you're looking for, and some more B-goodness in horror form check out the Shaw Bros film Black Magic.
Thanks for the great review of My Young Auntie (1981) directed by Lau Kar Leung.
For those interested, you can purchase this Shaw Brothers film remastered on DVD from Dragon Dynasty on Amazon.
> a handful of Shaw classics including 36th chamber just went up on Hulu (the free part of the site)
Awesome, thanks for the info! Btw, for those who don't know, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin is one of the few classic kung fu films available on blu-ray.
Also, I too wish there were more active members, but I'm not sure how I can go about gaining them. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
