I have a 2 yr old very active labradoodle and have a metal comb, slicker brush, and undercoat rake and I have to say…the undercoat rake has been the most effective tool imo in breaking up mats and tangles and keeping his coat in check.
This is the one I use. I actually find it to tug/pull less and my dude fusses less with this tool than either the metal comb or slicker brush. Sometimes I’ll do a quick pass with the slicker at the end but I think the rake seems to get most of any of the deeper knots or mats out, especially if they’re not close to the surface.

We recently got the toy in the link above. Works their mind while playing. It is perfect when we want to sit on the couch when our pup still have some steam to blow off.
Our pup also went through a play biting phase. Know that you are not alone!! Hope these comments help out you and your pup!!
This is the canned food I add to her kibble. Various recipes. The one she does best with is the seafood one, followed by the beef one.
She really is the cutest and has a “bed head” look all the time which I love! She sheds, but it’s not hard to keep on top of it with something like this : shedmonster
See if your vet can prescribe anti itch/parasitic topical cream.
There are also anti parasitic shampoos you could try. https://www.chewy.com/veterinary-formula-clinical-care/dp/43539?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12791446466&utm_content=Veterinary%20Formula%20Clinical%20Care&utm_term=&gbraid=0AAAAADmQ2V2xzFL36WSBe7BzKQWtz18Nn&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2Y_UvOuo-AIVdhXUAR3C5gD3EAQYASABEgI1KvD_BwE
I live out in the country and I put my doodle on trifexis. There’s a lot of dust, burrs, and dirt on the land. He’s shaved for the summer, you could try a summer cut.
Also wash any sheets and bedding regularly to prevent spread into your home.
It's a foldable crate/pen(has a zippered top so it can be turned into a crate). I got it here on Amazon and it was the only thing that was able to contain Jax(he climbed out the metal pen we had on his second day home) when he was little. He and my bossi-poo really only use it once in a while when they want to have some time away from the other(they prefer other spots like under the beds or desks). We kept it out mainly because we are getting another labradoodle puppy soon.
Breeder recommended these (below). Be sure to throughly wash and dry your hands before and after so you don't introduce any new bacteria or fungus. Or just put on some nitrile gloves.
We fell behind once in cleaning our girl's ears and she ended up with a fungal infection. Some drops and heavy duty cleanser cleared it up, but it's much better to prevent.

Probably goes for any dog, but given how active & playful labradoodles can be, highly recommend getting enrolled in a good obedience training course ASAP.
Labradoodles are very smart, but they'll need guidance and it takes continued structured practice to instill good habits. They train better when they're physically spent, so it's good to play a bit to "get the wiggles out" before a training session.
We've come a long way with ours, but she still is inclined to put her front paws up on strangers. She's very friendly and just trying to meet people, but it's not good behavior, I think it's the poodle in her.
They also love to engage mentally, so I recommend toys like the one below.
Congratulations and enjoy your new best friend!

Yep! We ended up getting a few of these funny looking dog drying towels and that helps to significantly reduce the drying time with the blower... But it still takes a fair amount of time to dry our dog with it!
Hi I have a 1.5 year old labradoodle and I have to brush her every week. And will use this for dealing with the matting. Coastal Pet - Safari - Dog Dematting Comb https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002ARR2W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AMF4FF51964YV4DXZTJR and I use this for brushing. Have you tested her for worms? Mine was visibly bloated when she was a puppy but was because she had roundworms. If it’s because she’s eating too fast, I highly recommend getting her a slow feeder like this one. That thing has helped slow ours down and has been a life saver (quite literally!)

Get some Angel Eyes. It won't fix the already stained fur, but it will prevent it for the future.

A constant issue in my house. I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040QQ07C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Helpful but not foolproof, but definitely easier than a comb.

Thank you so much for this! We took our 4 month old dood into the groomer for the first time yesterday. I proudly told the groomer we had been brushing him almost every day since we brought him home.... when we went to pick him up, they told us he had a lot of mats and it turns out the type of brush we had been using was useless and that we should get two tools: the slicker brush and the comb. I am going to watch these videos and get these tools you recommended! I saw the Chris Christensen online and was wondering if it was worth the high price.
Thank you! He is 11 weeks old. Still very much a baby!
I got the dog tag from Amazon. Link here
I have to mention that it was mailed via USPS and I think it came in the mail 7 days after the expected delivery date. Overall took ~2.5 weeks if you’re willing to wait!
Amazon! suitical pink camo
The black was sold out in her size, but they have pink and blue camo. There are other recovery suits available (cheaper) but I like suitical because it’s completely closed at the bottom like a onesie.
We have this one.
It works fine and we have never had to take it above a 5 on our (now) 11 month old who’s pushing 75lbs. My only complaint is that every time the collar powers off from being idle, it has to be manually re-paired to the remote. This becomes infuriating. I’ve had to take it off, pair it, and get it back on him dozens of times when I’ve needed it the most (which is usually when he’s losing his mind over a bird or the wind blowing).
How about a bark collar like this one? It's not a shock collar, and it's getting great reviews.
