I've got a map with a line of a route I cyced. I want to take a static high res image from this, but Mapbox seems to overcomplicate this and nothing they say works:

You might have good luck using a map book tool like in qgis to develop the images:
Then stitch the images together using the rasterbator (yes, unfortunate name...):
