My pleasure. The cabin air filter (as well as the engine air filter) is incredibly easy to change yourself. Took me all of 5 minutes.
This is what I bought. It will fit your 6 as well:

This post is in response to a couple other threads where I mentioned this adapter I got off Amazon...
https://www.amazon.com/SimpleUSBPort-Mirror-Dashcam-Adapter-10-pin/dp/B07KZSBC54/
that makes installing a dash camera (or any other USB powered device) in your Mazda super easy. No need to dangle wires down from your windshield nor take the covers off the side pillers to dress wires down those. The adapter comes with a few of the short USB cable shown in the first shot from the dash cam to the adapter (each one is for a different USB connector (USB-C, Mini, and Micro I think) that might be on your device..
I might rethink the placement of the camera but intially I wanted it centered and this is as high I could put it with the sensors on the windshield. If I go higher I will need to go to one side or the other. Right now my Toll transponder is on the right (passenger) side. Third picture shows roughly my view of the setup and as you can see when viewed a bit higher to see out the rear view mirros, the dash cam actually mostly hides behind the rearview mirror.
One interesting thing I noticed is the dash cam videos show just how much internal reflections are on the windshield which you do not reallly notice when driving. Which is why I might try it higher up to see if I can minimize seeing my dash reflected and such, but maybe not since the placement serves its intended purpose of showing the scene outside the front of my car.
Cabin air filter can be bought on Amazon (higher quality than the factory one with a carbon filter) for about 12-20$. Super easy to change. Everything else you should be fine on.
This is the one I got:

First off, congrats!
I purchased this OEM Mazda trunk liner for my 2018 Mazda 6 GT and I highly recommended it.

I got these. My car already had the license plate lights and the door floor lights. Didn't want to spend $60 on the corksport.

This is all from stuff I have left over from other projects. You can get a reel of red LED stripping (I used waterproof) for $10 on Amazon. I have a ton of this RGB line that I've been working through as well that I used for this. I could write up something a little more formal than a reddit comment as a how-to if you want though.
Not my post but I saved this listing for a moment like this(not really I was just waiting for him to drop the price but don't really need it)

Good luck! $400 with 90 percent tread. That's a deal
I'm pretty sure. I have a 2016GT with the Bose stereo, and I had to use a line out converter. Something like this would sound great and would be pretty easy to install in any vehicle. Highly recommend. Things don’t slide around anymore.
Thanks for the advice. I cancelled the order and went ahead and bought these. They have a little bit of a shorter life (3 hours a day for two years) but I don't drive all that much so I should be fine. Appreciate it!
Since the Gen 2s don't have a lot of support i had to go with mainly universal fitting parts. The front lip is this one here and it took a bit of mockup and fitting to get it to fit to the front bumper.
I ran into the same issue as you. After looking at mounts on Amazon, I found what I thought was the perfect solution. I haven't been able to loosen the floor bolt yet. I've tried everything. It's a flare bolt, so not your standard bolt head, and it strips really easily. If you want to give it a try, this phone mount seems like it'd be perfect.

Got the DRL on Amazon. I like them for what I paid, plus they're super easy to install or change if I want down the road. The listing for my exact ones is now a broken link, but here's ones from the same seller that should be pretty close.
Just did my own thing. Got the lights from Amazon. Underglow Kit for Cars, Megulla... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08FMPW6T5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I like the Bluetooth to operate instead of a little remote. The adhesive tape that comes with the lights is poor quality so I found some 1/2” outdoor extreme duty tape. Actually found the tape at the dollar store. Mounted the control box inside at the drivers footwell. Was easy to bring the wire inside through the firewall where there was a cluster of wires coming through. Found continuous power at the left of the drivers footwell fuse panel. Had to install my own fuse (not included). The app is not the greatest but it works. I can turn the lights on at least 75’ from the car. Any color. Lots of running options.
Worth a shot to try finding a key fob online somewhere. Ebay, Amazon, Etc. Then take the car to a locksmith and tell them to re-sync the newly bought key fob to your car. My wife did this and the locksmith charged like $90 or something, still cheaper than dealer, right?
Hey, just submitted this to r/mazda for broader coverage but this best applies here.
The wheels that look "graphite" or "gunmetal" to my eyes. They're darker than the more silver-ish looking ones on the touring trim. Does anyone know if there is either a factory or aftermarket paint that matches well for fixing curb scuff? My searches have led me to a few older posts and inconclusive information, ranging from:
Custom color that has to be mixed. Dealerships don't carry it and will sub out refinishing to a service that specializes in this.
Duplicolor "graphite" paint, which looks pretty close is somehow unreasonably hard to find for purchase!
Rustoleum silver touch up paint, which looks a little light to me and I'd also prefer a spray can.
Also found this Rustoleum graphite but it's hard to tell from the picture if it would be a good match. Any suggestions from pros and DIYers alike welcome! I thought this would be a fun little winter project when the snows are swapped on. I'd like to spot repair and avoid refinishing the entire wheel if possible.
I just bought a pair of these for my 2018. They give you the adapter to swap also. Had to be a little rough with them pulling off the adapter that was already on it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077DS297Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Yeah the led switch I haven't figured out what to go with yet but I've been looking at headlightrevolution.com just not sure if it will hyper flash or not yet I need to do more research. As far as the fog lights if you take it in to have it done yes it will but I found the parts on Amazon for about $100 to do it myself. On mine the wires are already there so it should be plug and play.

If you don’t want drone and don’t want your neighbors to hate you ever morning I wouldn’t do this. It is a bit loud no where near a full muffler delete but still fairly loud and drones a little bit on the highway. Usually the radio makes it so you can’t hear the drone tho. Also sounds way to aggressive for only a 185 horsepower car lol. Makes you sound like a ricer. It’s a really deep aggressive tone. I’ve had a couple people mistake it for being a v6 till I get on it and then it’s obviously a i4.
Links for parts I bought:
A little tip. If you want to have this set up but don’t want it to drone and don’t want it to be quite so loud get a vibrant ultra quiet resonator instead of the one I linked it will tone things down a lot and make it more tame.

Pricey, but a perfect fit.
Been a while since I compared, but generally a less headache warranty redemption process. Good prices too. I remember the chain stores being much more expensive, unless you are comparing to the cheapest Walmart battery, which I wouldn't recommend.
No problems with my Costco battery. Order some Noco terminal pads while you're at it to keep them clean.

LED Headlights/Highbeams/Foglights
Hopefully these links work for you guys! Let me know if they don't!
Installing the interior lights is very very simple. Installing the headlights and highbeams is a bit harder since you have to physically reach into the wiring from the hood & take the bulb out but it's still very manageable.
They have plenty of youtube vids on how to replace the lights as well if u get confused but it's all jus plug and play.
Good look Mazda fam🤟🏽
So I can just buy this slip it in the sd card spot in my car and it work?
I got these two years ago. No issues so far. A nice bright white. Better visibility at night, I also got yellow fogs and people pull out on me significantly less often. Like its while how less often it happens. I also have a strobe on my center brake light, three fast flashes, and people come flying up on me and have to swerve on the shoulder significantly less often too. For ~$100 I've had so many less near misses, which is huge in the ATL.
Now. People are gonna yell "NoOoOoOo you can't switch to LEDs with stock housings. Which with reflector housings is 100% true. But if you have projectors its okay as long as their aimed properly. I checked when switching just to make sure. I put painters tape on the wall and the cutoff was no different. I even got in my sister's Corolla, and buddy's old Civic and had them drive head on at me, no blinding or glare. In fact my sister's 2015 Corolla was significantly worse with the stock LEDs.
One problem is if you live in a snowy climate the LEDs don't generate heat, and you'll get snow and ice built up on the housings and greatly decrease visibility. If you live up north stick with your regular bulbs.
Odd. On my 2018 Mazda 6 GT (with Turbo) on the cap on the engine specifies 5W-30.
And this is what I put into it a few months ago:
I used the Kolacen fuse tap
One fit perfectly, the other was loose so I added a dab of hot glu to hold it in the socket. No problems so far I think. Be careful when putting the fuses into the adapter. It's kind of snug so don't try to force ot in too quickly.
I finally can help! My 2016 6 did not open fully stock but I modified it so it does. On amazon for about 10 bucks or from an ebay seller for cheaper and longer shipping time you can get springs that will push it open. The hardest part about them is mounting them in a correct spot. They hook on one side and on the other it wraps around. I had to spend like an hour or two to get it into a position that works because some spots wont push it open all the way and others launch it open and will break your car lol. I’m on vacation but when I get home I can take a picture of the spots where I mounted them. Bought these DRL housings and a set of fog lights to go replace my plastic covers a bit over 2 years ago, love the look and easy to install. Pops right in, just have to use an add a fuse to a fuse that comes on when the engine is on. Nice thing is the touring still has the factory harness for fog lights even if you don’t have them, so those are plug and play. Hop on eBay and grab a factory turn signal stalk with the fog switch on it and you’re good to go. You can disable the factory DRL (low beam of the brights) by removing a fuse, can’t remember which one. I don’t have pictures on hand at the moment but I’ll see if I can pull some up.

How did you pump it through? One person pumping the brakes and one person bleeding?
If you do flushes a lot it’s probably worth getting something like this. Motive Products - 0100 European Power Brake Bleeder Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CJ5DV2I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_TA7JFC38D0EXEXTCPWJG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 with the correct adapters for your car.
The old pump and hold method works for bleeding brakes, but it would kinda be rough to actually flush them like that.
You're not overthinking it. I would run the paper route if you have to pick one. I have a washable, reusable filter I got on Amazon, seems like it's fine.
Would this one work? K & N engine air filter for 2018 Mazda 6
My android auto on both my 6 and cx5 would auto disconnect randomly. Sometimes stop responding. I bought these cables from Amazon about 2 months and it hasn't happen since. Is s9 type c ? I don't remember. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JRY0VE4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I've been using these for about 2 months now I'd say the 360° style is a big improvement over 2 sided LED bulbs. The light output is brighter than OEM and reaches further down the road than my previous 2 sided LED bulbs.
Is the filter dry or oiled? If dry, then water and a mild detergent (like simple green) would be all that you need. If oiled, you'll need to get a cleaning kit like this. Make sure that after you clean it, you let it dry completely before putting it back on the car. An air compressor will definitely help you out here if you have one available to you. Leaving it out in the sun might also do the trick.
Just did mine two weeks ago. NGK Laser Iridium plugs I took out have the same exact part number.
I bought from Crutchfield.com and used their instructions

Take 2 hours and wrap you wheel in this for an oem look. Here's what my 2010 wheel looks like.
I sanded it beforehand and washed it with soap then spray painted it with duplicolor primer, gloss black, and clearcoat.
1) I use something similar to this below. It's very sturdy and I mount the suction cup behind the head unit and get the bendable arm to curve behind it so the holder itself is right next to the head unit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088BRCTXQ/
2) I'm not too big on modding the car, but some essentials I have is first aid kit, portable jumper, emergency tire inflator. Get some good car mats too (brands below). Most people here get other kinds of mods and accessories from carid or corksport. Clear bra will be worthwhile but you don't have to wrap the whole car. There are options for just the front and back bumper, or you can add the front hood as well.
3) Weathertech, Maxpider, Tuxmat, Husky, Smartliner are some of the top car mat brands and they also sell trunk liners. Lil pricey but they're gonna do a good job.
I would tell you, but my fuses might be different than yours. You really should use a multimeter like in the video to test the circuit. It fit good. I used a low profile fuse tap. The cover does not fit perfectly, but it stays on. Just a little gap here and there, but it really doesn’t bother me.

That's halogen for ya. I replaced mine with these - technically they are discontinued for being too bright but you can still buy them. Doesn't require a bulky resistor/capacitor intermediate box, just plug and play. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XP24CN7/
The indicators are a different bulb. I don't know why you would want to go with white indicators, as that's usually not legal - check the law in your state/province.
The DRL function would be marked on the stalk... might be called Auto though.
I side with others in this thread, don't put yourself at higher risk for an accident over garbage tires. I am on Kumho PA51s right now and like them a lot. Amazon has them for under the $150 mark.

Or maybe the thing is mis-advertised idk I'm not an expert. Def always check the reviews and functions before you buy.
Thanks! I sometimes forget to add the smaller stuff. I got them on Amazon.

As u/Mr_Spencer506 mentioned, I used this from Amazon to tap into the head unit. Mine was the older in-dash 2014/2015 style one. Not the tablet kinda looking one with Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Works great but had to run a separate remote wire to a fuse tap on a swiched fuse as the remote from the converter didn't work. No big deal. Took an afternoon to do the install and I've been very happy with it all.
I've had a booster seat in the back for my kid for almost a year now. The only protection I have is a seat protector made for car seats that I got from Amazon. It's slightly padded on the bottom side and has worked very well. Anytime that I remove the booster and seat protector my seat itself looks completely intact without the creasing and damage you typically see from car/booster seats. This is the one I have: AmazonBasics Car Seat Cover Protector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074KGWF4Z/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_N12dEbYQTC306
Here you go. Ten seconds of googling found this: https://www.amazon.com/PAC-RP4-MZ11-Replacement-Steering-Interface/dp/B0095UH3O2
Appears to be a box that will retain the steering wheel controls for use with an aftermarket stereo.
Yup, staples around the edges, so many staples. I used these clear headliner pins for the middle sections. The pins are trash quality and will break on you, but I managed to get 10 good ones to stick. It's... passable. No one has ever noticed until I mentioned it. I rarely look up anyways.

I had a bit of free time today and I happened to find it pretty quick.
Heres the dash kit https://www.crutchfield.com/p_003MAZK860/American-International-MAZK860-Dash-Kit-Painted-silver-black.html
Remember you’re not going to use those side plastic pieces. You’ll have a better fit using the metal ones already on the stock radio
This is the air vent one I purchased and have used. It held my Galaxy S9+ firmly without issue and does the same with my S10. I like that it has two grips to hold the vent, and also rotates to a landscape view. I really recommend it.

It is a genetic keyfob with a physical key inside. It looks identical to the OEM and they had no problem programming it. You should bring all copies with you to have the fobs and car programed.
Yes. The link at Amazon USA.

From what I can tell 14-17 use the same housing. Clear lenses https://www.amazon.com/DNA-Motoring-FL-ZTL-226-CH-Driving-Bumper/dp/B0764VV98L/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1531853842&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=mazda+6+dna+motoring&dpPl=1&dpID=51Z0rO2ucKL&ref=plSrch
this is what I used for connecting auxillary in the stock radio should have the same connectors on the back for either a 6cd player or satellite radio.
After connecting this you could get a higher quality Bluetooth reciever to plug into the auxillary input, and the cable is long enough to reach wherever you would want it to go. However, unless it plugs into your lighter socket, you most likely will have to turn the Bluetooth reciever on when you turn your car on.
Well on my 06 the bose headunit has a plug for satellite radio that you can buy an adapter for on amazon to convert it into an aux port. Not sure if your year has that or not.

I totally gutted the blose system from my car minus the headunit. Speaker blew out and would’ve cost $150 to replace, or $300 for aftermarket everything
You don't have to buy a kit, you can just buy the rotors and get the brakes from Auto Zone for instance. I understand wanting everything all together, I did my brakes on my own for the first time this summer. I'm just putting it out there.
If you do get the kit you listed make sure you follow the break-in instructions to the letter. They'll whistle if you don't. And unless you are doing it for looks or performance I wouldn't get drilled rotors. they are really easy to warp.
You've got a sport trim, right? Sport from from '10 doesn't have bt, so I'm assuming it doesn't on the '09. I bought this Bluetooth FM transmitter and it works perfectly.
I don't have a bike rack for my car, but I think if you paired the trunk-mounted rack with a bumper guard, it might be what you're looking for.
Usually for fog lights you need to have it wired but Mazda has it pre wired. I installed fog lights as well as have everything LED put in. In terms of the actualy LED bulbs all you need to do it plug them in.
here are the ones I bought. https://www.amazon.com/Auxbeam-Headlight-Conversion-Bulbs-Chips/dp/B01G16BRJY/ref=sr_1_5?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1487276487&sr=1-5&keywords=auxbeam
Trunk is the OEM from factory. The roof one is from kingspoiler. It ran about 70 when I bought it. It comes unpainted, if you want to paint it as the photos show you have to use a flexible paint. The spoiler is made out of a flexible material. I left it unpainted. I found these and I think I'm gonna pull the trigger. Out of all the kits, these have the best reviews and they come with a fuse attachment you just plug into the fuse box to have them on with ignition, etc. I was looking and apparently I can remove the panels to the side of your legs (right leg for driver and left for passenger) pretty easily and just run the wire through and then close it back up. Plug into the fuse box and done. They have some stupid sound sensing stuff, but you don't have to use it. You can steady any color, strobe, dim, or cycle through etc. Just a thought, but from what I've looked into for myself, these seem the most hassle free. I have a link to the workshop manual that explains how to remove these panels, but it's for a 14. But, I imagine those center panels didn't change much. Let me know if you need it. I'd have to get it from my laptop for you.
Forgot to mention, I have to get one with a dimmer. I tested if I would even like illumination so I bought a. couple of stick on LEDs and stick them in my footwells and it's pretty distracting, so I may end up running them only to the door being opened. Anyway just a thought if you're not 100% sure you want them, you can grab those stick on LEDs for like $2 to test it out first.
