Great question!
Learning different bird songs. And then going for walk and hearing all the different birds and knowing what each one was was amazing. I've still only got to level 8 out of 45 though!
I know a Memrise course that covers a base 1000 words with kana only.
https://www.memrise.com/course/1036012/1000-most-common-japanese-words-with-audio/
But personally, I'm not a fan of kana only education. There's also a different version of the same course with the kanji for after you finish the first and want to step it up.
https://www.memrise.com/course/1137112/kanji-japanese-core-1000-1000-most-common/
After the first 1000, it's a bad habit to keep using kana only, so the rest of the courses after only use the kanji.
Same thing happened to me just now. Have you had any luck contacting them in any other way?
EDIT: I found a way to submit a form to them online. Log in with your memrise account and visit https://www.memrise.com/premium/refunds/
My request went through so I hope it doesn't bounce somewhere along the way.
I passed the FAA Remote Pilot Exam by putting my notes in a Memrise course.

Could you be less precise?
As in app on PC, Mac, Web, Ios, Android?
Free or paid?
With pics? With sound? With video?
Able to import other app formats? Which ones?
Memrise is moving the community lessons out to Decks by memrise. Go to the web version to start the Greek lesson you're interested in. Then it will appear in the iPad app
I have no Idea. For me it's simply i put the course link in untick the first two and tick "download Media" files and "skip exisiting Media files" Than this happens:
First download takes really long
After it's done there is a popup question how i want my cards I just choose the default option
Now it's downloading/creating the cards and takes significantly less time than the first step.
There are no .apkg files saved as far as I know however if you want to save all your decks you can go to anki-data-export and than either save all decks in a collection data file or you can choose which one you want to save.
If the download works and you just cant see the stuff you should ask wilddom on github or open a new thread in the memrise forum most likely you will find more help there.
https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual.html Might be helpful too.
You might want to check out the FSI Swedish course. Its one of the newer ones, being from 1982 (yes, that's new for these courses) and it's also one of the shorter ones. There's about 9hrs of audio, not including pronunciation and word stress over 16 lessons.
They aren't all the exciting, but they'd complement all the vocabulary you've learned nicely... and it's free.
From what I understand Memrise is about to disable custom courses completely, in favour of a new service called Decks: https://www.memrise.com/decks-by-memrise/
Well some courses are split up but there are big courses in French , Spanish , Japanese,Korean and Russian.
for example this user created a lot of big Spanish and French courses

I think you'll have to check on desktop, but it should tell you on the top right of the course page who made the course. Here's an example of one created by Memrise: https://www.memrise.com/course/2141938/mandarin-chinese-1/
And here's an example of one created by a community member: https://www.memrise.com/course/2163/audio-504-absolutely-essential-words/

The extremely valuable core product, a simple spaced-repetition application for community courses, requires about three developers and an accountant to manage.
But because of the popularity of this simple product, Memrise nurtured dreams of world domination and hired 60 staff. Now, they suddenly realize that the will be unable to pay the bills with the original business model, which has limited growth potential, even though it is a steady earner.
Alas, the market for the product they want to make is saturated, and they will find it hard to succeed. Further, they can’t transition while still devoting sufficient resources to their core product. But nor will they have the capital to continue without the existing paid user base, for whom the new product is not terribly useful.
This is, quite simply, the end. For us, and for them. Sigh…
> IMO, the person who created the course should put in synonyms for Latin C and c so that people don't make this same mistake. It's way too easy to get confused in this way.
That's why I created a similar course. https://www.memrise.com/course/1905066/reading-cyrllic/
I omitted all the letters that sound the same in russian as they do in english (A, K, T, E, M). Still needs some work
I just made one for my Chinese study. I have all of these words as individual flashcards, but I found that after I memorized them, I still didn't know how to use them in a sentence. So now I've got them as fill-in-the-blank sentences with an English word as as attribute prompt before answering the test and a pronunciation reminder after answering the test (you can't see those last two columns in the word list for some reason).
Chinese doesn't have conjugations or declensions so no combinations are needed.
I'm planning to have several example sentences per word. I might run into the issue you mentioned of just skimming the sentence instead of really reading it.

> closures What do you mean by "closures"? How do you do them? I'm planning to build a new course for myself with Cloze Sentences (fill in the blanks) as in this example and see how that goes: https://www.memrise.com/course/83705/french-words-phrases-and-cloze-tests/12/

You can import courses easily from Anki,Quizlet and Supermemo
I used to use Rewire (which is okay) but I switched to 7 weeks because the design is better.
After searching a bit I found that Memrise seems to continuously have this issue and that it affects many people. Most of the time the streak doesn't come back, so in order not to feel demotivated when it happens again, I will at least have another visual to see my progress.
