Depends on if you're planning to make them yourself. Paramount concern should be rusting / corrosion. Gibeon is stable. Muonionalusta tends to rust. Electroplating with resistant metals may or may not increase longevity. I don't know if they're real, but AliBaba has ridiculously reasonable ones.
Sure, I don't mind. Never want to overlook a good possible, and this one checks a lot of boxes. A nickel test on the interior metal would be a clear indicator if it's a meteorite. Nickel testing solution for jewelry is fine too, and likely cheaper. It's the same solution.
One of the easiest ways to differentiate terrestrial rocks from a meteorite is with an inexpensive nickel test solution. Almost all meteorites contain nickel, so testing for this is a good starting point.
Something like this. There are many out there. Even local jewelry stores may have them. If it does not alert to nickel, it is not a meteorite. If it does show nickel, then it could be a nickel iron meteorite.
I bought this one on amazon - received it yesterday and can’t stop playing with it! It was $46 and has a nice sturdy aluminum stand that makes focusing pretty easy.
