Ummm, not sure where you got that info from ...
I am not a fan of their website, but I would feel bad if you missed out on a service you might like because of a misunderstanding!
EDIT:I am terrible with formatting - and /u/nickdrizly beat me to it
Hey, that's my app! Thanks for the shoutout! If you're on Android, here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=beer.mncraft.android&hl=en
I definitely keep it up to date as breweries open and close, and I'm trying to get better about updating the hours at leat once a month... it's a big PITA to manually check 200 breweries who are inconsistent about updating them across Facebook and their website and everywhere else, but I try my best! 馃槄
Props to Wabasha Brewing for the creative financing. I'm happy to see folks pursuing their dreams.
The higher dollar rewards just aren't appealing to me either. Specifically, the Mug Club is lame. It'd be a better deal for daily or weekly freebie, but that violates kickstarter's TOS. The "mug" as an incentive probably qualifies, though the TOS does also reference no lifetime memberships.
Math: Assuming $100 up-front mug cost, standard pint of $5 and 20oz @ $7, It would take 50 beers to break even. That's just under 1 beer a week for a year, 2/wk for 6 mos, or ~4/wk for about 3 months. If you fail to use the mug for 6 months after the first year, you lose privilege.
Also, 20oz of beer is a lot. At Northbound (note, I'm an Beer4Life investor), I typically order 10oz glasses. Allows me to keep general pace with friends (non-lifers) and get more variety in a sitting -- without getting completely blitzed.
