Second this. With Android Auto and a few functions like do not disturb you can make this possible. Myself, I would also set anyone important I need to still be able to get through. You can mute all notifications and even set an auto respond so people are not worried about you. I am not sure I would even go Bluetooth. Shure has a great set of in ear drivers that work well as earplugs as well and sit flush with your head so your helmet fits over nicely.
Sorry for the long link. Monster used to have a great media controller that I would use on my left leg but this would work well on your bars...
You don't necessarily need a different mp3 player. Your phone gives you way better options. I run Spotify on mine and then just download my play lists to not use data.
I’m your height, but about 40 pounds heavier. I have always had problems finding jackets with long enough sleeves… usually if the sleeves are long enough, you could fit in there with me.
One trick I’ve learned is to get gauntlet style gloves to cover the last inch or two of wrist area.
I got this about a year ago and am very happy with it: First Mfg Co Men's Big & Tall... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071HLK14H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have something similar to this.
It’s a really cheap option. I mainly use it for music. It supports auto answer for phone calls, but the microphone is pretty bad. Definitely need to stop for the call quality to be acceptable.
There are definitely better options, but this is not bad considering the price.
Not really the answer you are looking for but I've since done away with using the speakers that come with the Cardo's and use an inexpensive pair of headphones from Plugfones
I plug the headphones into the 3.5mm speaker port and tuck the cables down my jacket. A little inconvenient to deal with but the audio quality is 10x better.
I've also experimented with headphones with shorter wires that were meant for VR headsets.
They work ok, but they don't shut out as much background noise as the Plugfones.

Best boots I've ever had, in 20+ years of riding.

Is this everything I need?
I have 7 of these, I wear them everytime I ride. Thin enough to fit under the helmet, never have to worry about bunching.
Probably legit, but probably only intended for offroad use.
They don't appear to have much in the way of palm protection.
I also have a cheap amazon one. a BT-S3. It is pretty good. Never used it for communication though. I works great for music, gps directions and phone calls.
Combine it with a Bluetooth remote and you never have to take your hands off the handlebar.

Rule number one. Never touch the phone or headset while the kickstand is up.
I need 40inch sleeves from neck to wrist like my current jacket has

Nothing I will find premade will fit me right. If I get the jacket from my second link I can pay an additional 85 for heavy motorcycle leather. I recognize it may not have the same types of protection that modern textile jackets offer, but heavy leather will still protect my skin from being burnt off, and I can request a size large with 40 inch sleeves from Lusso
