I have a multi-tool of eating utensils. Knife, fork and spoon that fold out of one handle. It's easy to wash, great for camping, airports, trains, cars, etc. Highly recommend!
Edit: Mine appears to be discontinued, but here is something similar from amazon.
For everyday sunscreen, I bring a stick; for full-body, beach sunscreen I'd just buy it there.
I use the deodorant crystal in a travel size. I love everything about it except the fact that it's not anti-perspirant, which can be a problem on very hot trips, but otherwise it's fine and I don't sweat heavily anyway. (It also becomes unusable if it's dropped and shattered, which has happened to me a couple times in the many years I've used it.)
I have one for sale. The amazon basic backpack. It's pretty great. I'll grab the link

Hahaha, I like how the pic says "not this", "not this"... It's good to be specific.
Unfortunately I haven't got any recommendations for you (that I've tried myself). But you could possibly find beige golf pants.
Example on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/adidas-Puremotion-Front-Khaki-35x30/dp/B00HVRGFHC/
But really, any brand golf pants in your colour should work. They're all designed to be moisture wicking and dry quickly. You should be able to find some cheap ones too.
Hope this helps.
Also see the Trello board that was posted here last year for more of the same.
Before I write out my assessment, here's my pack list: https://airtable.com/shr6kdMxjDuS76CfL
This was for a trip to Japan for 13 days. Temperature ranged from 12-24 degrees Celsius.
I realise it's not as effective as a visual layout picture. Before I left, the weight of the entire bag was 8.8kg.
I'm not sure if it's fully comprehensive as I might have packed things I remembered to put in that I needed that's not on the list, but everything is pretty much there, including some intangibles (stuff to load into phone, etc.)
This is my first time onebagging so there's still much to improve with regards to gear.
Have you seen these? They are tiny. I use them for my edc first aid kit’s meds. 5ml Conical Bottom Graduated Plastic Vial Tube w Screw Caps 10 Pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N3YEXDK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_I5YeBb5QN4S66

I carry this one with the cord wrapped around itself and the top part disassembled to make the whole package more malleable in my luggage. I just keep it in a small eagle creek lightweight cube. Depends on how light of a bag you carry but I’ve had no problem fitting it into anything from a goruck GR2 34L up to my current tortuga outbreaker 45. The curve makes it kind of tuck away in the corner of a bag where it doesn’t eat up that much space, or you can kind of ‘wrap’ it around other pliable soft stuff like a packing cube full of underwear.
Amazon has a ton of identical models but this is the specific one I bought a few months ago.
It’s seriously such a huge quality of life difference that i get mad at myself when I forget it.
In case you are curious about the Veenanv backpack from Ali Express, it is called the Hynes Eagle 28L on Amazon here in the US, and there are reviews of it on the Amazon page. I actually bought this bag myself because it was so cheap, and it holds a surprising amount. I did a short video review of it. The main thing that makes it not perfect for me is the laptop compartment is not TSA scanner compliant. How hard does it have to be to find a sub 30 liter, clamshell opening, TSA laptop compliant bag??
THIS is what I brought with me. It seems super expensive compared to the 15 dollar ones, but it survived me lowsiding an ATK 250 in the rain while wearing it.
There are also nicer choices...but they get super expensive.
Are you dry-camping a lot? If you are, solar is worth considering, but you might look into something like Goal Zero, which will separate out your battery back from your solar panel -- good if you don't want to cook your battery.
For travel, I think solar is probably stupid. It'll take you like a day to get what you can get from an outlet in an hour. I like things that are multi-use. I have a Huawei that's a cell phone battery pack, travel modem, wifi repeater, and LTE hot spot all in one.
If you want to charge anything (including laptops) with a ton of juice, an Omnicharge is probably good bet.
Or if you have a USB C laptop and USB C phone, a USB C battery pack might be a good idea.
Great list and post! I’ve actually had this saved in Reddit since it’s so good.
Question; what do you use to edit photos? Lightroom? Ive found it struggles a bit on my MacBook Air 13. I’ve thought about not even brining a laptop and just taking this with me to backup my photos: WD My Passport Pro
Its the Bago travel duffel. I got it off Amazon. It packs down fairly small, which is nice.
Also an update is basically mandatory!
I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AEINQ9K It's not perfect, but at least I don't have to buy a new one at each location. Prefer a rechargeable one, but this was the best weight ratio I could find. Close enough shave that I can't complain too much, plus it seems to be the standard reddit answer.

This may sound overly simple, but I've found all I need to contain my in-flight kit is my jeans, a button-down or t-shirt with a chest pocket, a normal jacket or zip hoodie (think 2-3 standard pockets, max) as long as its not too hot, and of course, the seatback pocket (note I have very long legs, so I minimize seat pocket storage to flat items, and underseat I leave empty). The shirt pocket is really key, and I think an undervalued must-have for any shirt you are wearing while traveling.
Here's the distribution: -Shirt pocket: credit card sized folding phone stand, short Amazon Basics lightning cable for charging via USB -Jacket or hoodie pocket: Small Anker power cylinder (can also go in one of the jean pockets), phone (if using frequently in flight) -Left jean pocket: pen, slim wallet, and passport (if needed) or small notebook (if passport not needed) -Right jean pocket: Chapstick, small gum pack, phone (if not using frequently) -Back jean pockets: Kindle Voyage and paperback-sized pouch that contains my inflatable folding Lewis N. Clark pillow (https://www.amazon.com/Lewis-N-Clark-Adjustable-Inflatable/dp/B003N7NN06), eye mask, and earplugs -Around neck: noise-cancelling headphones (for shorter flights, I just use regular earbuds and but them in a back jean pocket in their pouch)
Note that I move the Kindle and Pillow Pouch to the seatback pocket when I sit down. They are both slim enough to not take up my knee room (important given my height) by making the seatback pocket bulge out. If you make this part of your routine, it's not a bad solution, as you tend to remember to grab them when you deplane if you put them there every time you fly. If needed, my small laptop can also slide into the seatback pocket.
I also don't put anything under the seat if I can avoid it due to my very long legs.
Recording engineer here. Forget Bose. Forget everything. Best in ear on planet is etymotic er4xr which is pretty pricey and really only for studio/home listening but when I'm not using those I use their almost as good hf3 which is actually a headset and has volume /pause, next track buttons on them. Designed for smartphone travel use. Super small and light. I've purchased probably 20 of them over the years as presents for friends and when I have lost mine. They've all said they're incredible. Because of the seal w the foam tips the isolation is ridiculous and the sound is like the music is coming from inside your head

I use this Bluetooth keyboard and like it quite a bit. I am also currently using a mechanical keyboard and am thinking of how I'm going to fit it in my bag when I hit the road again, but that bluetooth keyboard was great for over a year. It still runs too. The battery lasts forever. I used it every day for work (software) and I also write quite a bit. It'll go for over a week, I never had an issue with it runnign out of batter. It also charges via microUSB so you can just plug it into a USB battery.
Maybe something like The Rappel from High Sierra?
