List of VPN providers I found on an article written on February 4th 2021
>it relies on third-party providers who at this writing included standard VPN services such as Private Internet Access, Boleh VPN, Liquid VPN, and VPNSecure.

Pretty good news! Decentralized VPNs provide a highly functional solution to the invasion of personal space. Of course, this isn't the first time Orchid has been integrated into an L1. However, considering Celo has a highly secure mobile priority network with a very low gas fee, this integration is a huge move for users.
Thanks dereksilva. For now, centralized VPNs like IVPN paid in XMR seem to be a more usable alternative (IMHO) for really tailoring the amount you pay (if your volume per week is large enough).
There is also Lethean (LTHN) that is a small project still in development but could emerge in the near future.
I hope Orchid transitions fully to layer 2 soon, it deserves it!
Simple. NordVPN has a terrible mobile interface! While most VPN apps use a simple "list" to display available servers, NordVPN uses a map interface that's clunky and gives a terrible user experience overall. Even Surfshark and CyberGhost do a better job and they're significantly smaller than Nord lol.
There may be others using the software and tech on their own, completely outside of Orchid. That's one of the cool things about permissionless and open source systems. :)
Boleh, PIA, LiquidVPN, and VPNsecure are the current providers. Yes, we're looking to onboard more as official partners in the near future. When the software is more stable and can be easily rolled out by anyone, all the documentation will be fully released and anyone can participate using their own curated lists and such.
>Then the investors came in, and ruined that notion, and now whales froth and frolic upon the high satoshi seas, under the eerie light of a nuclear powered rocket ship chasing the full moon. In the background the wolves are howling.
I understand what Ghost Shellcode is saying but Jesus, do you hear yourself? Can you talk like a human being for a moment? However, I too am concerned about OXT appearing to be an inflationary asset. What was appealing about Bitcoin and Ethereum other than usability/adoption is they were deflationary assets. If Orchid gets the stigma associated with inflation, that is really bad news and makes it a terrible asset. Really, I just want a very good VPN that doesn't slow my internet speed the way Private Internet Access has been doing lately.
Thanks for having an interest in being a bandwidth provider. The node software is still in active development and testing with the first set of partners (PIA, Boleh, LiquidVPN, etc.).
They're actively providing feedback on the software, and working with us to make it ready for general availability. Right now the focus is on the iOS and macOS apps, but the teams attention can turn back to the node software after those launch.
In the meantime, you can poke around the node software on GitHub, but we can't offer any documentation or support at this time since things are still changing so quickly. You are welcome to try installing it on your own machine but we can’t provide support at this time.
You could also take a look at the partnership with Bloq and explore participating in their node.
