I'm going to recommend The Silent World by Jacques Cousteau and Louis Malle.
A nature documentary, so not the standard fare, but an important one being the first documentary to win the Palme d'Or. This is the first full length production released by acclaimed French director Louis Malle (Elevator to the Gallows, Lacombe Lucien, and a personal favourite of mine Zazie dans le Metro). Jacques Cousteau should be a familiar name to most people, but how many young folk have seen a Cousteau production? (I am ashamed to say that despite having a Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou poster in my room, I have seen none) Thought about this while watching Planet Earth II (which is amazing and I highly recommend if you have some spare time).
The Pied Piper has just 319 IMDB votes despite being a 1942 Academy Award Best Picture nominee and starring some solid names (Monty Woolley, Roddy McDowell, Anne Baxter and Otto Preminger); this is due to it never being released on DVD, Blu-Ray or on any online service like iTunes or Amazon. It's a really solid movie that sadly has fallen into obscurity due to its unavailability and I would recommend it.

I will post a good torrent link here tomorrow :)
Edit: Here's a torrent link
I also like to share why I didn't choose the only suggested film last week and instead choose a film on my own. The film suggested is streamable on youtube but the quality is very bad + it has no English sub. Thus a bad choice. I want to remind everyone suggesting a film to check if the quality is at least 480p (or just make sure it's not too pixelated) and that it has proper English subs.
