Thanks for these wonderful links! I had never heard of Imabi until you linked to it the other day, and I have been looking for something like Tangorin for a while. 大辞林 on ios has a name search function, but it's only for prominent and historical figures.
As much as it pains me to say it, since UC Berkeley is kind of a rival school, the Routledge book is excellent. It is so well written and in-depth, and it would definitely be put to better use in your hands than in my clumsy ones. But yeah, it definitely took a good bite out of my wallet since I had to buy it and the grammar dictionaries at $50 a piece. I'm mostly pretty good with spending, but books, Hobonichi and stationery supplies are my weakness.
Speaking of 変体仮名, my alma mater actually made a nifty app that will help you in reading them.

It was created by Michael Emmerich in collaboration with Waseda. I've not used it myself, but I've heard nothing but good things. Sadly, a good portion of my Classical Japanese has gone to the wayside although I do intend to get it back once I am more comfortable in my grammar and writing skills. I'm glad to see that you're smart enough to see how useful it is so you can save yourself the return trip.
