I have this from amazon and use it every day have absolutely noticed a difference in my skin. It brought back that youthful glow that I missed (I swear to god this is not an ad). I also use it to calm my skin down when it gets irritated or when I need to speed up the healing after an infected pimple or something. The last time I got a facial my skin started to turn red and get itchy and irritated like it does sometimes, but I started using the red light and it calmed and never got bad.
I am using one of those bulbs now, but it's inconvenient to use and doesn't cover my whole scalp. In a helmet the light goes where I want it, and I don't have to sit still.
I just started using this one and really like it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B2GZLD6
I just posted a long review of it there, so I won't repeat it here, but I love it and recommend it!
The bionase I bought was a piece of junk, uncomfortable to use and I never noticed benefits.
I'd recommend spending a little more on something like this https://www.amazon.com/LASEPREHT-Therapy-Portable-Infrared-Device/dp/B0B761Q9TY (can probably be found for cheaper on Alibaba or ebay)
Here's a better choice for $550- https://www.amazon.com/Therapy-Infrared-Muscles-Improve-Anti-Aging(R/dp/B0B1JSWW2L
If yours actually comes with the stand pictured it's a better deal, but my guess is it doesn't
Use a phone stand. You can get the kind with a bendable arm, and they have a kind of claw that would usually grab your phone.

I have a 500w light that I use inches from my face. I used those black rubber goggles, but it seems light goes around the edges through the skin.
Then I found these special red/nir sunglasses on amazon and they work really well at blocking it all much better.
If you want, there’s a book — The Ultimate Guide To Red Light Therapy — that draws on the research and puts it into layperson’s terms with endnotes that cite the various studies.
It also has good guidance on dosing, which can be complex with the various models on the market and all the many applications.
Dual wavelength 660 and 850nm with pulse function, https://www.amazon.com/Lifepro-Red-Light-Therapy-Belt/dp/B09CLM44TM/ like this and other styles with more LEDs
Wolezek Red Light Therapy, 18 LEDs Red Light Therapy Bulb with 660nm Red and 850nm Near-Infrared Combo Wavelength, Infrared Light Therapy Lamp Device for Skin Care Pain Relief https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TDP67LR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GJDED7ET1G5ZE34DJNTC?psc=1
I put this bulb in it. Do y’all have any other suggestions for skin care red light therapy lamps?
Look for one that is dual wavelength. The newer LED belts have 3 chips per led, giving 1 x 660nm light, and 2 x 850 nm. As for power, it doesn't matter really because you can just add a few more minutes to your treatment time and get the same dosage. This looks like a good one for a good price https://www.amazon.com/Light-Therapy-Devices-Wearable-Wavelengths/dp/B09R21RK4C/
You can definitely get a more expensive one, but it won't necessarily be better or at least a lot better.

This is what I'm using
thank you again, I like your idea of using one of the IR night vision options. What are your thoughts on this one - https://www.amazon.com/ICAMI-Illuminators-Infrared-Lights-Security/dp/B01GZYS3C6/ or this one https://www.amazon.com/CMVision-IR110-114-Outdoor-200-300ft-Illuminator/dp/B003ZX1M88/. They have more LEDs so am assuming will provide more intensity and hence lesser time needing to use it.

There are a number of devices you can use for example a flashlight the above link is one that I really like. When you get it you'll have to unscrew it and cut out the LED in the middle which is a light activated sensor which you don't need. In other words you wanted to be on all the time regardless of ambient light. You also need to buy a USB to 12 volt adapter and plug that into a power bank.
Of course I don't know what you're using it for so this device may be too small.
When facing away from the light I don't wear any. When I face towards it (I use a 3 foot tall panel) I do because the light is bright enough to hurt my eyes from how bright it is.
I found these on a site that reviewed and tested with a meter if they actually blocked the appropriate wavelengths. They lessen the brightness enough to be able look directly at it without side effects for me: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FA4RDNI/
I got this one (ABI LED Light Bulb for Red Light Therapy, 660nm Deep Red and 850nm Near Infrared Combo, 54W Class https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07SH39YT4/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_JS6C4BRR9NZRZKKWJHME?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)
It's been great so far, I got the Combo one because I wanted Infrared too. They're designed and manufactured here in the US, good customer service.
It's a generic lamp you can buy in Amazon, AliExpress... With different names like in this link https://www.amazon.com/Therapy-Wolezek-Infrared-Device-Relief/dp/B07TDP67LR
Could Infrared burst some little vein?
I can't speak to the quality of that product, but I have this one and it's amazing. I have seen huge improvements in my skin and it's great for minor acute pain and inflammation. There's a clear price difference, but I have been using it daily since I bought it in February and believe it's worth the cost. I also question a product that's only $40.
Recommend a good handheld device for pain relief

Well, as a professional RLT manufacture, I'd like to share with you a feeling from my customer. She had damaged her left knee to the point that it is possible that she might have to have a knee replacement. So she bought our Infrared lamp with timing function ( Brand: Serfory) . Using this lamp on her knee help to relieve the pain and helped with the movement of the knee for a period of time. She is now very pleased with it. So probabaly you can try an infrared heat lamp. Serfory Infrared Heat Lamp with Timing Fuction for joint and muscle pain relief
Well you can get a Kill-a-Watt to test the electrical power consumption. And you can get a Sanwa laser power meter to test the irradiance.
But I will save you the money. You definitely aren't getting anything close to 100mW/cm^2 at 6 inches away from that light. I know because I make a very similar product.
https://www.amazon.com/HYUNLAI-Light-Therapy-Infrared-Relief/dp/B08LVR29PB
I ordered it from amazon for the Tecanne Brand red light therapy, and it really work great, it is different with other same design red light therapy, it is more warmer than other, and they use the 3 Pink plug with socket, and more easily and safe than other red light, this is the link of them
https://www.amazon.com/Therapy-Socket-Facial-Infrared-Devices/dp/B085S6D8HC
That's great thanks, I got one ordered. How long would you recommend to use it a day?
Do you mean use something like this to power it?
I bought a gooseneck floor lamp from Amazon for about $30 USD. I have a high mattress on the bed and if I lay by the edge it works perfect.

You can also get it for cheaper for around $120 if you buy it on AliExpress directly from China but it'll take longer to be delivered.
Here is a book on light therapy. You can get as a cheap Kindle.
As jameslanna has noted, you cannot use any red light to get light therapy. You really want to know more on this topic before you start treating yourself. You need to know the right wavelength, distance from the light you need to be, how much time to spend under the light to get the optimum results. You can get too much light and it can have a negative effect. You need to be educated about this because it changes your cells and you don't have a doctor helping you. Here's a book that's a basic primer on photobiomodulation, red/infrared light therapy. You get can get it on Amazon as a Kindle book for $2.95. It will be worth your time. The book talks about using light therapy for thyroid issues.
My current light is both red and nir. I was thinking of getting a cheap bulb thats only red just for the testees. I was thinking of this. It seems that alot of lights are both red and nir https://www.amazon.ca/HIGROW-Flowering-Fruiting-Spectrum-Enhancement/dp/B0744GY7TP
Wow! Thank you kindly for the response. You brought up so many great points. There is a lot to consider. I am surprised the red lights on security cameras would fit therapy needs. I would have never come across that idea.
As indicated in my first post, I was originally considering the Platinum Therapy Biomax Series 450 box. However being unsure I well I could target an area, I looked on Amazon and also thought about the RubyLux NIR-A Near Infrared Bulb -
https://www.amazon.com/RubyLux-NIR-Near-Infrared-Grade/dp/B00N4JE9U6
What do you think of that bulb? I think getting it with a ceramic desk lamp-type fixture would be a fairly easy and inexpensive setup. It’s a question of will it actually work.
Here is the light (it’s only the 660nm version, not the combo: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SH39YT4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SCR64NYXFGX65YFMT47H
I am using it about 5 inches away from my skin and I’ve used it on my legs, back and scalp so far.
I’m not sure, it’s just a bulb my friend bought on Amazon that we have set up. It might be this one, Red Light Therapy Lamp, Wolezek 36W 18 LED Infrared Light Therapy Device, 660nm Red and 850nm Near Infrared Combo Red Light Bulb for Skin and Pain Relief https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TDP67LR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_M3PDQ3D8W6KQPW6D69SV
I bought the ABI LED Light Bulb a few weeks ago. I am happy with the purchase. It is below $100. Good luck.
Actually none of those!
It was this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B2GZLD6
I do recommend it based on my own results, but I wonder whether you could get more use out of a multipurpose light, like the X-40 or X-60, especially if you have any other health conditions. For example, a family member who uses the X-60 on his lower legs (mainly there because the only way he actually gets himself to use it regularly is to just sit and read while the unit sits on the floor in front of him) was told during his recent skin cancer exam that the skin there was in especially good shape (!!). And also he had a fall off a step recently and, even though he's older and older people tend to have frail skin, he did scrape his knee a bit but nothing like I would have expected.
I have the X-40 and on days I don't feel like sitting there holding the bulb over my ankle I just prop it up close to my foot and read or watch TV. I don't have any experience using the X-40 near my face, though; it's way way brighter and I have the mask, so I just don't bother. But if you protect your eyes, maybe it's an option, if someone who's better at math than I am could do the calculations for you about time and distance. I also like the X-40 because it's small enough to keep on the bottom shelf of an end table and, when I use it for gut health, it's lightweight enough to hold over my abdomen; the X-60 is too heavy for that for most people, I would think.
in my attempt to find a US available link:

this one has the same bulbs and wattage as the one you linked, seems like it should be the same effectiveness right? would love to know your thoughts on this
I don’t know a whole lot about any particular light or company, but when searching for flowering lights for my indoor plants, I found a high-quality red bulb with a fan in it and the reviews mentioned using it for skin. Since I was already interested in trying red light therapy, I bought it. It was the best $39 I’ve ever spent.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the difference in my skin. I use it on my face for about 10-15 minutes (maybe a bit longer) at least every other day. I’m 37 with fair skin and have had some deeper lines appearing along with hormonal (I guess?) acne— & cystic-like acne for the first time in my life. It was devastating to my self esteem. I also have issues with brown splotches that appear when I am in the sun for any amount of time.
I have seen a remarkable difference in all of these issues since using this bulb consistently. It seems to have helped reduce scarring that I have from cystic acne and reduced darker pigmentation. My “grief lines” and “eleven’s” btwn my brows are far less noticeable, as are my crows feet. My skin is glowing, looks more youthful, my pores look smaller, my skin is more refined, freckles have faded, Even my eye-lashes and eyebrows have thickened. Now idk if that’s from the red light...but I am doing nothing else different, so I’ll take it!
Overall, my skin looks & feels more youthful, supple, thicker, looks more even-toned & has FAR less wrinkles than it did 3-4 months ago when I wasn’t using the red light. And younger as far as texture, tone, & overall appearance.
Check out the reviews, one by a “k Bennett”—gives a lot of info regarding spectrum, 660nm, jules and comparison to panels.

Well the red light is linked above. The blue light is an LED that comes with a remote and can be changed to any color on the spectrum. I use it on blue in the am to stimulate me and I use it on amber in the evening to relax and get good sleep. here’s a link
But...is this safe to have on my head all day?
It's a cheap one from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TDP67LR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I use it 5 minutes a day usually 4-5 days a week.
I was doing it 10 minutes a day 7 days but that was too much to keep up with.
This is great! I just purchased this one the other day from Amazon and am a bit leary of it. It had over 4K reviews and now I only see one. They also had $40 off when I purchased is which is making me even more cautious! Does this look like a legitimate product?

I haven't used mine much yet, but this book references a bunch of studies and doesn't promote any particular device. It does give reviews of the leading hardware but doesn't really have a favorite.
It's worth reading because to get any benefit, you need a sufficiently powerful light, and you need the right dosage. Too much is as bad as too little.
would you happen to have an example of one of these bulbs? How about those wrap belts they sell on Amazon, would that work? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FTKBHPX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Something like this one in the link above.
Not sure if you can find the exact same door-hook, but most standard door hooks should work similarly.

Try this one. This one got good ratings.
If you are prime member, it is selling for $179.
You can try to search it on Amazon. Their seller is really responsive and their device works!
I've gone to a few different wellness facilities that offered RLT sessions. It's hard to say if something was off that day, but it did SEEM like there was a difference.
I bought this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PKM2R8Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_WDveFbC4DKQNG
The product itself is good. 0 issues.
It didn't have that same instantaneous mood lift like the ones I've used before, but my hair grew quickly. I'm using it right now to relieve a high ankle sprain, and thaaaat was an instantaneous effect.
I feel the same as this guy and I also bought a cheap 30$ lamp from amazon.( we prob got the same one) it was linked off seemit
But I’m pretty sure it’s the correct light and not infrared since it says 660mn
That’s the light( and I’m pretty sure me and op got the same one)
It says deep red
