The Robinhood site does a decent job explaining how transferring your account works. Depending on the value of the account you want transfer, TDA may cover the $75 fee. If I were you, I would contact TDA before transferring to see if they will agree to cover the fee before I started the transfer.

Hey OP, few things.
Great decision on transferring. Best of luck out there.
> Also, I saw that they announced that fractional shares were going to be available
Schwab purchased TDa , so https://www.schwab.com/fractional-shares-stock-slices that is what is going to be available... a primitive version of what is available in other brokers
I am also an international TD Ameritrade customer from Brunei where we have very limited banking system. TransferWise solved my issues.
I am currently using TransferWise for deposit/withdraw with TDA.
You first create a multi currency account at TransferWise
You can add money to TransferWise account via local bank transfer if supported.
You will be given US ACH Bank details. There are currently 2 possible bank partners in TransferWise - Community Federal Savings Bank (Routing number starting 026) and Evolve Bank & Trust (Routing number starting 084). TD Ameritrade accepts only Evolve Bank & Trust ACH details but not the other. However TransferWise is shifting their customers to Evolve Bank & Trust so it will be ok.
You can add TransferWise ACH details into TD Ameritrade.
TD Ameritrade will deposit 2 small amounts to TransferWise for verification in 2-3 business days.
When you receive two small deposits, you can input the amount in TD Ameritrade to verify.
After verification, you can deposit/withdraw to & from TD Ameritrade.
Pros
Free transfer (since the transfer is between TransferWise US account and TD Ameritrade US account, this is considered as US local ACH transfer)
Better exchange rates + low fees for transfer out from TransferWise back to your bank.
Cons
TransferWise - you can use my link to get one fee free transfer.
Are you on a VPN? Something happened last night at 8p where a ton of sites are now inaccessible through Express VPN and NordVPN. I can't access TD when connected through my VPN, but if I turn it off, it works fine. Makes me think there is a cyberattack planned for Memorial day by Russia and the Feds are implementing something to prevent VPNs from accessing possible target websites.
Search "VPN" on Twitter and you can see a lot of people have the same issue. Twitter is also now inaccessible through VPNs. You can see the massive spikes of issues being reported for many sites on downdetector.com
The Schwab merging of the sites is supposed to occur later and they will very likely send multiple notices before it occurs.

Looks like it's just a capped margin account.
Also it might be actual crypto and not stocks, which is unregulated (which is where the settlement times and restrictions come from, federal regulations), and most something TDA provides (can't trade crypto on TDA).
It does, if it's within 30 days.
"wash sale occurs when you sell a security at a loss and then purchase that same security or “substantially identical” securities within 30 days (before or after the sale date)."
The maximum amount I pull via TDA was 5000. I usually separate the transactions multiple times over multiple days if I am not in a hurry.
According to this support article from Wise, I think Wise has 15000 USD per 24 hours using ACH.
Hahaha sorry that’s really a funny situation. It’s like saying no to a free cookie lol.
Oh by the way, I recently read about this. Something you may want to read more about.
Are my funds insured? Yes, if you are a US resident, your cash holdings are FDIC insured for up to $250,000.
Your USD funds are held in an FDIC-insured custodial account. Even if eToro were to fail, your money would be protected and returnable to you (up to $250k).

ThinkOrSwim is just the name of TDAmeritrade’s active trader platform. You login to it with your TDA credentials and it offers everything that the normal platform does with additional tools and a layout which can be better for active or sophisticated trading. I actually like the different views better for different information, so I will often be logged into both the standard and TOS platform simultaneously. It has also been confirmed that the TOS platform will be continued through the TDA/Schwab merger and will eventually be available to current Schwab clients as well. I have found the margin capabilities of TDA to be very good.

I believe TDA US will also charge 25USD for each individual outbound transfer in addition to Fx spread from local bank.
My transfer flow is as follows: 1. TDA US to Wise USD (free ACH transfer) 2. Wise USD to Wise SGD (mid market rate + very cheap conversion 0.4%) 3. Wise SGD to local bank in SGD (fixed 0.93 SGD transfer fee)
I am not sure about the risks you worry of using Wise. I would be grateful if you can elaborate.
The only limitation I can think of for Wise is if you are Singaporean resident, you cannot keep more than 5000SGD or equivalent in your Wise balance (source). It is usually solved by converting from USD to SGD then transferring to the local bank as soon as the money comes in to Wise.
As far as I know, you cannot fund an account from bank with different names. One possible solution to your problem is
Summary:
For deposit: Your US Bank → Parents' WISE US ACH Bank → TD Ameritrade (All transfers done in US with free or low transfer fees depending on your bank)
For withdrawal: TD Ameritrade → Parents' WISE US ACH Bank → Your US Bank or Parents' non US bank
Just let you know that TransferWise just renamed to Wise:
https://wise.com/us/blog/world-meet-wise
Anyway TD Amatrade doesn't let you add TransferWise US bank account details. But you can send money from Wise (formerly TransferWise) to TD Amtertade using the bank account details by TDA.
