This one did the trick for me. Can be tightened as much as you want. I just wrote a big DIY post and then was like, "Why am I writing this?!?"
I have a tendency to over complicate my life. I blame Reddit.
You totally can as per above and I probably will as well, but what I'm going to do is grab some one inch wide nylon rachet straps for motorcycles on Amazon and then just modify them for my use. I'll cut the long ends so I have varied lengths for varied uses and then paint them diff colours to differentiate the lengths.
I like these because the long ends are seperate and could be cut to any length. I also like the "locking" hooks, so even if the strap comes loose the clip won't just fall off and potentially end up in your wheels.
I'll also be using these on my trailer for the bike to hold down anything I put in it.

I’ve got two pairs of “bar mitts” brand ones and a pair of Odion ones, they seem exactly the same in build quality and work incredibly well. One thing I’d recommend is to get a cheap electric bell, I got this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094VVS2LC
The little remote for it can then be installed inside the bar mitt with the actual horn on the outside.

You could get a bike seat rain poncho. It would mostly keep the blanket in place with the bonus of keeping the wind off. Honestly, the wind is the major cold factor here. Keep the wind out, and you'll keep 90% of the cold out too.
But how cold are we talking here? I'm in Canada planning to bike through the winter, so I splurged on the storm box and shield combo. It is pricey, but worth it for here. If you're in a milder climate, you can get away with just the storm box. Milder still and the poncho would be more than enough with some warmer clothes on.
Nite Ize Size-1 S-Biner Dual... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DZNZZI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I just use this and keep both keys together and then attach it to my main keychain when the bike is locked. Works perfect
Interesting.
I simply got one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FPHKKDP?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
And mounted it on the mounting screws that are on the least obvious part of the bike. I mean it’s clearly visible, but I have so many accessories mounted to my bike that they will not quickly spot it, recognize it, and be able to remove it (security screws). At least not till they get to wherever they are going, of which I would know where.
my kid's daycare backpack goes there. Protrudes some, but its secure. I don't know the distance from yepp back to the straight crossbar, but width is going to be ~15.75 and height from rails to clubhouse top is ~8" iirc. Take some measurements and look for soft coolers or tool bags if you don't need pro-level cro$$-country weatherproof trekking gear.
Just bought this. It plugs right into your ABUS frame lock. There's a hole on one side of the upper shackle. My LBS didn't even mention it as an option. I have an HSD S8i, but I'm pretty sure they all use the same frame lock.
I ended up getting the same mirror because of your post!
unfortunately, that mirror adapter went out of stock and ended up getting something similar(that is meant for both the M88 and M99). Did you have any problems trying to fit the adapter that you have? The ones that I bought doesn't fit in properly in the handlebar slot of my S8i

Or search for: M6 × 65mm Bicycle Binder Clamp Bolt Seat Post Quick Release
The hole and original hardware are for M8 hardware, but the quick release levers come with little nylon M8 stepped washers that end up being absolutely perfect for the job. I thought I was going to have to 3d print a little m8 to m6 bushing.
I've been happy with this low-profile, rattle-free, tamper-resistant German-made Grapid AirTag mount. It attaches to an extra bottle cage mount. The GSD has three cage mounts on the frame, including one in a low, tiny area where no bottle would fit. The tag holder is visible, but neutral gray, so possible to overlook. Or, a thief knowing the bike is tracked can be a good thing, ideally deterring them from stealing the bike in the first place. (Hence why people sometimes put GPS stickers on their bike, like a warning.)
This Abus 4960 immobilizer chain is the one to buy. Super helpful for easily securing my Gen 2 S10 LX’s seat and helmet. Also just long enough to go around a pole for secondary security.
I just got my S10 yesterday! And ordered this: ABUS 4960 Immobilizer Extension Chain. Will be watching this thread for ideas :-)
I did a bunch of research and ultimately decided that a decent angle grinder was going to get through anything, so I didn't really sweat the specifics of the chain lock. We use the integrated lock on the front wheel and a mid-range Kryptonite chain for the frame (this one: https://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-Evolution-Integrated-Chain-Orange/dp/B009IH7RR0)
The front wheel key lives in the lock, and the Kryptonite key lives in the zipper pouch in the panniers.
I got a key box for my house so we always know where the keys are hanging, and everything is tagged. Most things have little quick-release attachments for switching from my wife and I.
And then finally, my keys are on a Keybar, which is just an aluminum thing that sort of organizes your keys so they aren't a jingly-jangly mess of bullshittery in your pocket.
As far as carrying the chain, I just chuck it in the pannier.
I wonder if something like this brush is my best option then OXO 1067529 Good Grips Soap Dispensing Dish Brush, Black, White https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000CC91GK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_8AS1S4P3QQXD1AQ5T8W0?psc=1
I put a tool pouch there (this one). Its just a roll that is big enough for a tube, CO2, and tire levers. I prefer putting it there to storing in panniers since they won't go truly flat with a tube in them (and it seems to be the only thing that fits there).
