Checkout chapter 8 of The Scapegoat Complex to understand why you’re ashamed of being her scapegoat, and how to heal it to stop replaying the same pattern, to allow you to break free.
If you want GABA you can buy it online from the USA for $11 and probably have it shipped to wherever you are. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013OVZAG/The problem with going to doctors for prescriptions is that you have to play their game by their rules, if they won't give you the drug you want without "going to therapy" then you're stuck going to therapy or finding a different doctor. In general doctors are not very happy letting "patients" make any decisions, and they want to be the boss with the authority to tell you what to do. In my opinion it's kind of a big scam, but that's how the system works. Good luck!
I haven’t read Alice Miller’s book. But her son, who is also a therapist wrote a book about her detailing how abusive she was and how much of a traumatic childhood he had

There's a DBT for neurodivergent folks workbook that keeps the good and presents things in actually respectful ways
I’d strongly suggest you read An Introduction to the Psychodynamics of Workplace Bullying
The book describes the detail of how a bully identifies their own weakness in the target, then symbolically tries to destroy the object representing their weakness.
Your last paragraph is ‘Nocebo Therapy’ where the therapist stirs up negative rumination without providing the tools to process the thoughts. The client then leaves the session feeling suicidal.
At its heart, you’re describing the analyst’s narcissistic limits. We know this because the best analysts guide their clients to solutions.

Ultimately we’re dealing with existentialism: How do humans fill the empty void of meaninglessness within themselves. Some attempt it repeatedly via sadism.
I don’t know if existential psychotherapy is useful, buy a I’ve heard people doing IFS have had a lot of progress.
Humans have always used scapegoating as a means to rid the in-group of its sins.
Human sacrifice is just performed differently these days. The most vulnerable are undermined and asked to play out the role of scapegoat. Tablets are dispensed to keep the escaped goat from returning its burden back to the tribe.

I think the main issue is finding a therapist who really, actually specializes in trauma & attachment disorders, and doesn't just call themselves "trauma informed", which could be a lot of things. I think that such a therapist could utilize DBT successfully, because they would know how to validate and hold space for traumatized folks, especially those who are marginalized in society.
For what it's worth, my therapist likes to use EMDR, and gives me homework. I think this is the book they pull the homework from:
I read this book https://www.amazon.com/Hundred-Years-Psychotherapy-Worlds-Getting/dp/0062506617 and they also argue that the whole focus on childhood infantilizes adult humans and prevents them to engage in political activism. You might like it.
That therapist sounds terrible btw.
Yep! This is super important.
Hope it's okay to drop a resource: there's an app called Forest (https://www.forestapp.cc/) (sorry, I'm on mobile) for Google Play that will lock your phone for you during times of rest. My eventual goal is to cut down screen-time overall.
I’ve been using the free version of the Finch app. It’s a decent basic mindfulness and emotional awareness tool. It’s also cute, I recommend to name the pet after yourself because it sends push notifications such as “remember to take care of baby PSSD_Kara”

Do you think that because we left religion, now we are searching for a new one? A secular one?

I found this book that i haven't read yet, but it talks about that topic.

>I think people are mainly paying for a substitute parent/caregiver/friend and the permission to speak about typically "taboo" or "deep" subjects that are otherwise considered socially unacceptable to talk about with others. Or for someone to validate their belief that there is something wrong with them, or the opposite, that they are doing the right thing in various life situations.
Yes you are right about this.
