Its a blue switch, if thats your thing. My office is on the other side of the house so my wife doesn't seem to really care that its loud. for what i paid i could probably have a nicer keyboard by now, but i also pump money into timex watches so i wouldn't take financial advice from me anyway. haha
I think the biggest questions that I have are: “What look are you going for?” and/or “What do you want out of your watch?”.
I have the T45181, which has the same module as first one. I got it because I wanted to get an upgrade to the Casio Forester FT-500WC-5BVCF and wanted a dedicated outdoor watch (+ it scratches that boyhood itch). I liked the idea of anadigi bc it had been forever since I last messed around with a digital watch functions. It ticks most of my boxes compared to what I ideally want.

I hope the link works for you. I have found that if it is in stock you can search for it but if out of stock you can not find it. I keep the link in a favorites folder of watches lol! If the link doesnt work "timex standard fabric" on amazon should. Just noticed it doesnt ship until mid january.
There's a battery cross-reference chart available here.
Timex H cell batteries are the same as 386 or SR43 batteries.
I also have a 38mm Easy Reader. It's this one. The bracelet looks and feels pretty good imo and it will also fit your watch. Unfortunately Timex doesn't sell the bracelet separately on their site. But you could try emailing them. I've heard their customer service is responsive. If they can't sell it to you maybe they could just give you the part number so you can source it elsewhere.
I did! I'm really happy about it. Messing with the movement was a little funky at first because its my first mechanical (non automatic). I have it on a barton that was drastically discounted on amazon for some reason
Right now its half off if you're interested. The 20 and 22mm are 40 dollars the 18mm is only 20
That appears to be a Timex Quartz Chronograph reference T2M469.
The date code "S6" on the back indicates it was manufactured in June 2008 according to the table here.
Taken one of these on multiple kayak/boat trips where it gotten a good amount of submerged swimming without issue.
You should be fine for anything from the factory with 50m. Would be hesitant though after a battery change/case has been opened. Ironmans are pretty affordable though so if you're making a habit of it may as well pick one up again.
Thanks. It's the tank design that I like. I seldom see that rectangular design from Timex. The golden bracelet version looks cooler IMO.
You’re good. That’s an Ironman Endure Shock, right? That’s what I meant, the Shock has 200m, but even the non-Shock models have 100m, which is more than enough for almost every “beater” use. You can certainly take it swimming, etc.
I meant like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01KOMNGJA or this one: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00T45UHTG
(At least in the States, I think the “normal” Ironman is more common / easier to find than the Ironman Shock.)
Hey they do seem to sell these still in my area

T46681 aka Rugged Metal expedition
Imo the best $40 expedition, it checks boxes that most don't (like the popular scout 40).
The scout 40 is 50m wr, so it should be fine for swimming (realistically), but something with 100m wr would be total peace of mind. In that same price range this is the only one I see:
Timex Expedition 100m WR , fixed bezel though, so the "diver" look is just an aesthetic.

As far as strap, cloth or fabril is typically better, but leather is ok it'll just deteriorate quicker. But you can always replace it sooner or later. My personal favorite is sailcloth, it has a leather liner so it's comfortable but the band is very water resistant on the outside.
Ritche sailcloth - note if you ever get sail cloth, this brand wont fray unlike the cheaper alternatives.
TLDR: Scout 40 good!, 100m WR would be more ideal.
Try this, maybe you can get a closer match. BINLUN Elastic Fabric Nylon Watch Band Waterproof Military Replacement Watch Strap Hook-and-Loop for Men Women Silver & Black Buckle 18/20/22mmParachute Strap
Don't see why a NATO wouldn't work. I'm not crazy about how NATOs need to folded and tucked, personally. I really like sailcloth from Ritche.

That band looks really cool! But unfortunately we don't get those here in India. I ordered this Silicon band from Amazon to go with it. India.https://www.amazon.in/Kolet%C2%AE-Dotted-Orange-Stitched-Silicone/dp/B07VLSLXHB/ref=mp_s_a_1_37?keywords=kolet+20mm&qid=1644180625&sr=8-37

I got this band to go with it if you'd like a nice casual/sporty look
i have a few really cheap spring bar tools lying around, i used one of those.
if you don’t have any watch tools, i recommend this cheap kit to start with! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z8SC4GL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XAE4HH3VQJ9S2V9JGA5Y
it will get you swapping bands, removing links, and changing batteries in no time! also comes with extra spring bars. can’t tell you how much those have come in handy for me
i dont think they restock those
looks like you enjoy the "flieger" style of watch, or "pilot" style watch
Orient makes a great mechanical automatic (no battery) pilots watch https://www.orientwatchusa.com/collections/sport/ra-ac0h03b10a
its gone as low as $170 on amazon. if you set a price alert using keepa you should be able to grab it
https://www.amazon.com/Orient-Stainless-Japanese-Automatic-Leather/dp/B082WZGDWX
anyway those keywords "pilot" "flieger" should help you on your search
I think so, though I couldn’t find it on the actual Timex website. It is on Amazon though, and available at Walmart, etc. Here’s an Amazon link if you’d like a closer look: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQ4WYG1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5CKDCTZFEWCJK06N4D5R
That appears to be a Timex Men's Retrograde Calendar model T2M422.
Apparently first available in April 2010. There's another listing with a few additional details here.
Good news: They did! Link to product page on Timex's website
Bad news: They discontinued that model as well. Resin banded version is still available on Amazon. Amazon link
Oh but they do! There are several Weekenders with gold tone cases, and at least a couple of different face/hand color ways.
Here’s one:
Looks like the blue dial Timex Easy Reader 38mm here.
I don't think they use this typeface for the numerals on any models in the Waterbury line.
It says it fits wrists from 5.25 to 7.5 inches. https://www.amazon.com/Timex-TW7C07500-Coral-Double-Layered-Nylon/dp/B01N9BA16I?th=1
If your dad is into very classic looking watches, I would highly recommend a Timex Easy Reader.
Most of the less expensive cases from Timex are made of plated brass. While they are very corrosion resistant they can rust over time. I would make sure to get one with a stainless case, like this lovely Mk1. There are also a lot of Casios in this price range with stainless cases.
I have a T-80 that I only wear occasionally. The watch case is just chromed plastic so I don't imagine it'd be all that scratch resistant but neither will most similarly built Casios, although most similar Casios will cost $15-$45 where this watch is usually around $65.
The official water resistance specs say 30 meters which basically means it should survive some rain and hand washing but you really shouldn't submerge it or go swimming with it.
The bracelet is stainless steel and easy to adjust. It can pinch your wrist hairs and I've heard a lot of complaints about that but for me the hair pulling hasn't really been that bad but it does happen occasionally.
If you're interested in a gold toned Casio that's similar check these out.
Lots of Casio G-Shock watches have 16mm lugs, and there are adapters on the market to go from 16mm to 22mm. Maybe one of those adapters would fit your watch.

They've got a couple of digital PAC-MAN watches, too (if you don't mind digital): https://smile.amazon.com/Timex-PAC-MAN-Anniversary-Digital-Watch/dp/B08BJ74X15/
I saw that there was a coupon for $5.00 off of this "Timex Green Fabric Watch" on Amazon, and I decided to pull the trigger. Checked the reference numbers before and found that it's a MK1 Aluminum, which made me pull that trigger even faster. The coupon is gone, but if anyone else is interested here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N9GBF4D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_FDt1FbF74A1P7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The Pros:
-This is a lightweight watch. It makes my 40mm Weekender seem heavy, and my Expedition Scout seem like it's made of wrought iron.
-It's 40mm in diameter, but the case is smaller and thinner than my Expedition. It feels more like my 38mm Linus Weekender on my wrist.
-The strap is a nice nylon NATO with the hardware matching the finish of the case.
The Cons:
-This might be the loudest Timex I own. Maybe the aluminum case doesn't muffle the sound as much as brass or stainless steel.
-The domed crystal adds a lot to the height of the watch. If it were a flat piece of mineral crystal then this thing would be seriously slim.
-Not really a con, but I'd like to see it with a date complication. If it did, then it would be a better Expedition Scout than the Expedition Scout.
The Cool:
-The domed acrylic crystal is awesome. It's just so cool and funky. The distortion is a lot of fun to look at.
-The dial is a great design. Love looking at those little triangles.
For under $30, you really have no excuse to not add this to your collection. Can't wait to wear it more!
You can get some really nice ones on amazon for like 15-25 dollars depending on size (6 or 12 watches)
I just got this one and it's too nice for the price, I feel like a poor Chinese kid really worked his finger bloody on it for 0.02 cents an hour... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6BUB6K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_uo.8Eb62DNN05
