Did you check if the MKVs that used to work also won't play?
I am guessing it's a video codec type issue. Probably H.264 is supported, but H.265 (newer licensed codec) isn't. That's why some MKVs will play while others won't.
You can check the codec type by loading the MKV in VLC media player and then press Ctrl+J. Stream 0 Codec will show the video codec (aka, video encodig method).
MP4 files can also contain different codec types, so you would run into the same problem, if you had an MP4 file that contained H.265 (HEVC) video.
If it's a codec issue, you will either have to re-encode the unsupported videos to H.264 format (I suggest Handbrake for this process), or you will have to rip/download an H.264 version of the film.
Because the audio type in some of your files isn't supported. It has nothing to do with the MKV file format itself (otherwise you wouldn't even be able to see the video).
You can check the audio type (codec) by loading the video in VLC media player. Then press Ctrl+J. The Stream 1 Codec will give you the name of the unsupported codec. This will need to be re-encoded to a supported audio format before you can have sound.
The quickest way to do that is this:
30-60 seconds later you have your working copy of the video in the set destination folder. Only the audio has been modified. The video is the same quality as before.
Unfortunately I can't get it to work at all for Amazon Prime on Firefox, Chrome, or Chromium on Ubuntu 16.04.
On Windows, a buddy and I were able to share the same room, and audio/video chat, in Chrome (I think) but we pushed start separately, and we were watching unsynchronized by a few seconds. He said he heard me laugh at things a moment before he heard it.
On Linux I saw lots of CORS errors in the dev console. I tried setting the domain names amazon.com and twoseven.xyz in plugin settings, but no luck. Also tried Incognito mode, no luck.
Thanks for the great app! Love it when it works. The video websites sure don't give you any warning when they change their implementation. It's amazing you've gotten it to work at all.
Hello. You may have blocked embedding of your live streams.
In general, non-blocked livestreams work on twoseven. Here's an [example](https://twoseven.xyz/non-ext-media?videoSelector=youtube&videoURL=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DEEIk7gwjgIM). Clicking that link will set you up in a twoseven room with NASA's live earth stream.
If you are both using Firefox I am not sure - one thing you could try is logging in to Amazon in another, non-twoseven tab first and see if the browser keeps you logged in when you switch.
Or you could log in to Amazon on a separate tab and then use the extension to launch twoseven.xyz.
