> How often?
I go through waves where I'll do it everyday, and then I'll go through waves where I lose the habit for week or two at a time. Ideally, I would like to do it every day consistently.
>How’d you get into it?
My first introduction was a friend showing me the headspace app. I'd tried before, but this was the first timei actually got something out of it. Waking up was what got me to see the full potential, and to strive to do it every day.
>What resources helped you?
Waking Up (the book, as well as the podcast), a great courses series on Buddhism and another one on mindfulness.
>I’ve been trying for a while now, but it’s hard, maybe the hardest mental task I’ve ever encountered. Even getting myself in the habit is proving difficult. I think my distaste for woo is a big part of it, but I haven’t figured it out. Should I pick up Why Buddhism is True or something?
It's definitely a difficult thing to learn how to do. The main issue is you don't get any feedback with how you're doing, and no one can look into your mind and see how it's going. I haven't read that book yet, but it's on my list, and I've heard good things.
