I use a mit with a silicone brush. You just wear it like a glove and pet them. Picks it right up for me and the dogs thinks it's an otherworldly massage.
Here's one on AmazonI have
I bet most of the suggestions are fine, I have this one now and I think it's better because of the silicone mat that you can take off and get all the hair to come off at once.

We mainly use ropes and the rubber Kongs stuffed with treats (peanut butter in the freezer is a good one!!).
Once our weim got past 3-4 months old, most plush toys just didn't last a day for us. The one that lasted longest (about a week) for us was this:

We use Wellness Core wholesome grains ocean. No corn but had niacin which is lacking in grain free. Never had an ear infection with out two.

I suggest getting the collar in the link above. My weim who is going on 2 years, and used to jump on people non stop until we got that collar. When they jump up on to people you just give them a quick snap. It's not like regular collars that just pull them, it pinches tighter on there neck without causing long term damage like a regular collar would.
I was thinking about trying this out. We had an in home trainer which worked well but became far too expensive. I know it’s not an answer to your question about a book, but along the same lines.
ComfortFlex! Have been using this on my boxer and weim for running for 10 years. Never rubs them raw. Amazon link for those interested. It's an alternative for a cone but still could be used as a onesie.
Look at this outward hound jacket. I just got it for our weimaraner. I'm very happy with the look and feel of it.

Check out this blog there is some good articles on separation anxiety and what you may be doing that you think helps, but actually makes it worse. There is other resources on Separation Anxiety in Weimaraners that may help.

It glows in the dark. And it's hollow with a hole on each side, so that it whistles when launched by the chuck-it.
It' my dog's favorite thing in the world.
She's OBSESSED w chasing it and chewing on it. They're also practically indestructible - she really gnaws on that thing for like an hour a day and there's not even any scratches on it.
This is the one. She's almost 90 pounds and tremendously strong. When she wants to pull, this slows her only just a little. But it wears well and looks good and seems comfortable for her. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IKXS8K8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00
I know someone who used something like this on their counters (non weimaraner).
I guess it worked well, but I've heard varying things (some bad) about using shocks on dogs. I guess you have to be really careful or you can permanently mess up the dog psychologically, but I don't know anything about it/them.
