These people aren't "the 2048 guys". And I don't mean in the sense that the others are saying, that 2048 "copied" Threes. Ketchapp literally just took the open source game created by Gabriele Cirulli and released it on iOS before he made an official version.
The original, Gabriel Cirulli version, based on Threes!, doesn't have an Undo button in the iOS version of 2048, so at first blush, as a player of the 'original', I was like IMPOSSIBLE! It requires a lot of luck toward the end game to not get new tile spawns that fuck up your order.
Then I saw the Undo button, and I was like IMPRESSIVE! Because holy shit, that takes dedication.
In this game you have a 4x4 grid, as you can see here. Each time you make a move, a new tile spawns as either 2 or 4. You make a move by swiping up, down, left, or right, and all tiles will move as far as they can in that direction, and any like tiles (32 and 32, or 8 and 8, etc) will merge with one another if one hits another while moving in the selected direction.
For example, if I have a 2 in space 1,1, and a 4 in space 1,2, and I swipe down, they'll both just move down. But change that 4 to a 2 and the two 2s will merge to become a 4.
I believe this is the original game.
Use nebpay or neb.js instead of asking for a wallet and password.
It's a nice game but I notice you've just forked someone else's work and added a nebulas integration.

I know you were honest about it on your website but doesn't feel like a lot of effort on your part.
Nah. That's what 2048's developers claim so that they don't have to admit they cloned Threes.
So even if they don't say they were directly inspired by Threes, they were supposedly inspired by a clone of a clone of it. So in the end that's still their inspiration, even if it's indirect.
(And that's assuming it's even true that the clone of a clone is their inspiration. I have a feeling they were directly inspired by Threes but won't admit it. Why would you take the bad Chinese knockoff as your inspiration when you can copy the original?)
My favorite version of 2048 is his progressive web-app version (it's the same developer as the Android app you linked), since you don't have to install it. See: https://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/
Congratulations on getting that behind you! I do not miss those days.
GBBO is an excellent decompressant. I also have a few standby movies I will put on if I just need background noise and giggles, and they're all Adam McKay/Will Ferrell joints: Step Brothers, Talladega Nights, and Anchorman.
I am also known to play hours upon hours of 2048.
Does your definition of Fucking Chill include leaving the house at all, or are you a couch-hugger? I have suggestions for the former too, even though it's not usually my first choice.
No, the website only sends enough information so your browser knows what to display on your screen (or speak, if you're using a browser for the visually impaired. Or print, if you're printing the webpage, etc).
If the website accepts information and remembers it for later, and lets you access that information from other computers, then it's using a database. For example, a website with a sign up form will use a database, while https://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/ isn't using a database. Although https://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/ remembers your best score, it's storing it on your own computer, rather than on the website.
Yup, you can just inspect element on https://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/. You can do lots of fun stuff like manipulate what blocks come up, what colors everything is, and basically do whatever you want with it!
Recently, I started playing 2048. It's a very addictive and simple game that pulls me in, causing me to forget my worries and the outside world while I try to stack up those little numbers. Basically any repetitive task that requires your attention but keeps you occupied is a great way to get your mind off of what's bothering you.
/u/Embarrassinghuman already mentioned taking a shower. Sometimes I just sit down in the shower and let the hot water wash over me until it turns cold. I always feel super refreshed when I get out.
Lol yeah an Italian kid Gabriele Cirulli made it based off a few other games (1024 and threes) but then Ketchapp took it and turned it into a mobile app and there was nothing he could do there used to be a whole thread to it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comments/3466i9/the_2048_guys_stole_my_iphone_game/
The medium article is down now but here is a clip from it: "But then they fucking stole my game. They didn’t even steal it a little bit. They stole it a lot. Everything from the concept to the design to the mediocre gameplay. The only thing that they changed was the control scheme — which they made far shittier than mine. Maybe that was the Ketchapp fun I was missing!"
OK, I figured it out.

Would like to know the different "levels" on the Sasha Grey one though. The original is numeric and based on powers of 2 (2^11 = 2048)
Steam has some free games, I've played them myself, but lost interest over time. You can also try some mini-games like one of these 2048 or Clicking Bad.
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of simply engaging with the game to access content - there just isn't that many (at least not textual content). Compare e.g. how 2048 doesn't really have a lot of content.
I only ever played the original game and have no idea about the Android world, but I'm pretty sure that "the Android version" isn't specific enough for anyone to help you. There are certainly apps which allow you to continue playing and others that don't. You probably just have to find a different one (or play the original version linked above).
I've doing the same problem as the original poster, using what /u/Dracunos works great, but I want to approach it the way that you described. I figured that the board is contained in
<div class="grid-container">
as an initial setup I have:
import time from selenium import webdriver from selenium.webdriver.common.keys import Keys
browser = webdriver.Chrome() browser.get('https://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/') time.sleep(3)
grid = browser.find_element_by_class_name("grid-container") grid.click() grid.send_keys(Keys.UP)
I keep getting an error message:
unknown error: cannot focus element
I just can't figure out how to resolve it.
I have what may be a beginner's question. How does neural network learning work if you don't know whether a specific choice is good or bad?
I'm trying to train a neural network to play 2048, but (a) I don't know which move would be optimal (if I did, I wouldn't be training a network to play it), (b) I don't want to punish or reward the wrong thing, and (c) I will have no idea which moves contributed to the final defeat.
Do you have any advice?
>Google Chrome.
This might fix it. Chrome made some changes last month.
edit: if not, there are versions of 2048 that don't use flash. I think the original doesn't (Github).
Other people have mentioned 2048. Let me tell you why I like it. You can play it sort of on autopilot. So if you're supposed to be listening to something (lecture, conference call, etc.), you can play it and still mostly hear what's going on.
