> Here's where the fun starts. This doesn't log just failures. It verbosely logs every single check. The way it's formatted makes it impossible to crtl+f to find which registry key tripped the failure. So you get to skim through all several thousand lines of text it puts out to find which one tripped the failure. Then you can remove the registry key manually and proceed with the install.
For future reference, here's what I do to make things easier:
ETA - also check out appremover for cleaning all antivirus programs off of a system. use with caution: we started having students use this before installing sophos one year and we found that on maybe one out of ten uses, it would somehow also nuke the wifi drivers. But it does occasionally come in handy at our help desk.
Run appremover first, it's designed to completely remove your old av from your system.
Try AppRemover free version it supports the thorough uninstallation of hundreds of antivirus and antispyware applications. Their website address is http://www.appremover.com/supported-applications#security-applications?windows-8 And you can downloade it there. or from majorgeeks.com I hope this helps.
Here you go. I use Panda myself, don't even notice it running.
BTW It cant hurt running appremover first to make sure MSE and macAfee are completeley removed before installing a new antivirus.
Just a suggestion, if the game is pirated or torrented, there MAY be a chance that there really is a virus embedded in it...With that being said, download Appremover from http://www.appremover.com/download to remove McAfee.
