I mean the actual photos, Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder
is able to give a percentage of similarity between two pictures (no matter their file names, formats or sizes).
Often the image files are not equal in a byte level, but they show the very same image.
If you go to the website of Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder
, you will understand what I am looking for. The screenshot of the program is descriptive enough.

This will be what you want.
Shows all pictures that look similar and a % of how similar they are, it also shows differences in file size and resolution so you can keep the higher quality ones.
The only negative I have found using it, it doesn't handle low-quality/low-contrast pictures very well as it thinks it looks like every other picture you have.
hrm, is the goal to delete duplicates or nearly-identical copies?
I sometimes use this app for that: https://www.duplicate-finder.com/photo.html
It doesn't show thumbnails though, it just shows pairs of near-identical images and you choose which which one to delete. It doesn't really highlight differences or let you zoom in either.
I tried searching more broadly for image comparison software and came across a superuser thread that might be helpful - https://superuser.com/questions/46760/tool-for-comparing-two-images
The "Beyond Compare" app will actually highlight differences.
I suggest using a program like Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder or Find.Same.Images.OK to find duplicates and delete ones you don't want.
It's a task that it's indispensable the use of a GUI tool since I have to visually compare both photos, the tool must simply find the duplicate (or similar) photos and ask me what to do.

I've used Awesome Photo Finder to sort my collection, it does it's job, but it's kinda slow, because you're deleting dupes 1 by 1 but good for comparing the photos.
> Pure, same file dupes isn't it only, as many times I have the same image with a watermark or in worse quality.
You can use it for that
For duplicates images you can use Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder. It shows you, as the name says, the duplicates with percentages of similarity and other things.
