Some other category ideas you may also want:
It's a good idea to break down your food budget into "Groceries" and "Eating-out" categories, so you can see how much each is costing you. I also like to break down my entertainment category into "Sporting Events", "Movies", "Fine Arts" and "Other Activities". I've also got "Liquor" as a sub-category of Entertainment, which includes both liquor store purchases and bars.
If you want to make it easier to keep track of where all your money goes, there's some great online tools out there. Mint.ca is very popular, but it requires you to give them your bank login and password - a violation of your agreement with your bank, and a major security risk. I use Buxfer.com because it lets you manually import the files of transaction history that I download from my online banking, and thus no security risk. It comes with some default tags (categories) but you can setup your own as well as sub-categories. Initially a lot of your imported transactions are going to be untagged, but as you assign tags you can easily create rules so that all future transactions from the same business get tagged automatically.
