Not totally understanding what you mean by that? It hasn't changed in 10.12, you can still use AS and Automator for that.
What problem do you want to solve? Automate performing a task in some application - clicking menu buttons? You'd use click menu item
or click button
from System Events. For manipulating specific mouse movement (like automating moving the cursor to a specific coordinate, probably easier to import something like Cliclick into your AppleScript.
Something like:
tell application "System Events" to tell process "$APPLICATION" click menu item "$ITEM" of menu "$MENU" of menu bar 1 end tell
I can write in AutoHotKey (close to what you have there for windows) and Applescript.
They are not interchangeable. You can not do what you are asking like you are asking to do with applescript.
You can do it with python wrapped in applescript.
You could do it with a 3rd party app: http://www.bluem.net/en/mac/cliclick/
but you'll need to learn how to do it.
