I still use ClipX currently. Even on windows 11, I'm still able to currently use it without issues. I wish it was open source, because I'm afraid of it not working one day, and being unable to patch it; thought to email the developer about it at one point, but I don't think I ever did.
As /u/kanink007 suggested, Ditto is the oft-suggested alternative. It's my fallback should I ever be forced away from ClipX.
I'm not a big fan of the built-in windows one: Despite it's technically "native" look, it feels clunky to me. That, and the fact that you can only see 4 recent entries without scrolling is a major drag.
There's also Binary Fortress' (of DisplayFusion fame) ClipboardFusion (freemium, licenses start at $15 but have gone on sale before,) which does a lot more than just clipboard management. I use it for the sync capabilities but it doesn't get in the way of my ClipX use either.
Have you looked at ClipboardFusion? Full disclosure, I'm a Binary Fortress employee. Feel free to reach out with any questions. :) https://www.clipboardfusion.com/
You can likely do this with clipboard fusion and a small macro script, basically this one with a ".toLowerCase()" after the text.Replace(" ","-")
https://www.clipboardfusion.com/Macros/View/?ID=d2a956fd-736f-4da7-a216-36b54a345de4
Might need some other slight modifications to remove punctuation or leading/trailing whitespace.
Other macros are here for reference:
I'm using OneNote too. On my Desktop PC for Online Session and Session Preparations and on my Convertible Laptop (HP Envy).

One Tipp for GM's: Copied text from PDFs are most of the badly formatted (too many Line Feeds). If you use a program like Clipboard Fusion, you can filter the additional Line Feeds out.
I'm not sure I fully understand the problem but it sounds like you search something like a whitespace trimmer for your clipboard? If you are on windows, the auto-scrubbing from this tool might help, I've never used that program though.
It sounds a little weird that you can paste into notepad without whitespace but pasting into a plain textbox within firefox produces a line break.
We were using the same thing but moved from Confluence to SI Portal. We still use LastPass for our own web-sites but all client based information goes into SI Portal including all passwords. That may be changing since LastPass has doubled their Enterprise plan costs. I really want SI Portal to add Gliffy for network diagramming.
SI Portal (https://www.siportal.com/) has a really strong search syntax which makes looking up account information and passwords really quick. We primarily chose it because we can self-host, brand it and keep a local backup copy that is still functional.
You can copy a password to the clipboard. In the case of RDP sessions and you can't paste it, we use BinaryFortress' Clipboard Fusion (https://www.clipboardfusion.com/) with a macro called "Auto-Type Clipboard Text" which will send it those sessions if you are typing it.
One really cool feature that wasn't really advertised in SI Portal's poor marketing collateral is "File Repositories" where you can expose an entire local folder, network share or WebDav (I think) as a web page in SI Portal so you can effectively make it you one places to go for passwords, account information, KB articles, documentation and software tools.
One other really neat feature is that SI Portal has two VBScripts that they call agents that collect data from AD and WMI. This effectively makes it universally capable of working with any RMM tool that can run scheduled scripts.
The main issue with IT Glue, SI Portal, the new PassPortal stuff is that it takes lots of work to maintain the relationships between objects, accounts, etc. For instance, let's say you have a domain service account called "SVC-Backup" that is used for your backup software across twelve servers, you need to create that relationship twelve times. It can get painful.
They all have their warts!
