This case looks really similar to the one I’ve got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086SH7S98/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_1Q280P3BR04B8TG99J73
EDIT: This is actually the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/ProCase-Support-Charging-Protective-Release/dp/B07KFC7TRB/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=iPad+pro+11%22+case+fabric&qid=1620417503&sr=8-6
Here is the one I got. I doubt there is much difference between brands, but who knows?

I love this drawing stand i got from amazon from elecom. I’ll post link if you that works on here. It’s great because it folds up to a slim form factor about the size of the ipad and can be easily slipped into a back pack. Pretty sturdy and good build quality.
Canary Mail - I can't work without encrypted email
NordVPN - Stay safe out there!
Things 3 - If it's not in Things 3, I probably won't do it...
Fantastical - I love the natural language input. The perfect compliment to Things 3.
IA Writer - I'm doing all of my white papers and presentations in this now. I'm really trying to avoid Powerpoint type presentations with clients, as a 4-6 page document with a few supporting graphs conveys more info, and allows me to get into more detail.
Honorable Mention: Bear. I've learning more and more how to use this app, and finding it invaluable to my daily workflow. All of my key emails are written first in Bear, as are meeting prep, meeting follow ups, and company analysis (when looking for potential new partners or clients). This may become my main app soon, now that I'm finally comfortable with how I should use it. The key for me was setting the right folder structure, something I initially did not do well.
I recommend this one Logitech k380 It works really well also with multiple devices support. It is not too big, but big enough to type comfortably. I am using it with my MacBook. Battery lasts super long
I don’t know about 256GB capacity drives, but I’ve always had success with the SanDisk model that has both a retractable USB-A and USB-C port for maximum compatibility. I have a 32GB and 128GB drive and they work great.
Here is the 256GB version of the same drive:

This comment intrigued me. I read the original reply wrong and didn’t see “cover” at first. Then saw your reply so I wanted to search. Seems like you can get the actual pencil tip instead of a cover. It’s easily removable. I have NOT tried this, just showing the first result I came across with a quick search. Seems interesting tho because I wanted paperlike when I first got my iPad but for the same reason the OP is cheering, the resolution distortion held me back.

The ztotop case is so amazing, I would never buy anything to replace it.
I picked up a ‘Anker USB C Hub Adapter, PowerExpand+ 7-in-1 USB C Hub’
It works great with my iPadPro 11” and MacBookPro 16”.
I recommend Anker in general, they make great products all around, and have a lot of UBC C hubs and other products with Power Delivery. I’ve been using them for years for cables, batteries, and more recently some health and home products from their Eufy brand.
Edit: Here is a link to the hub I use
And here is a link to Ankers USB C hub selection
For note taking, please checkout . As far as apps, I like iCab mobile browser. It allows you to get the desktop version of all websites by setting the browser type option. I also like OmniFocus for task management, Zoom for video meetings, jump desktop for remote access to my Mac Pro, NordVPN for working on the road, and MSFT office suite for the normal word, excel, and ppt my business needs.
It might be this one? I have it and it’s perfect, slim and paired with a matte screen protector is amazing. Only $10.

I highly recommend this case. Very lightweight and it has a magnetic flap to hold the pencil in place when in a bag.
I actually have a nice case that I got on amazon that holds the pencil. Let me see if i can find the link for it.

I’ll link it below, it’s very well made and easy to hang with just two nails. My set up is quite neat and tidy so felt like it needed a bit of abstract and it fit the bill!

Please read about this item in detail and buy it. This is a charger-cum-powerbank. Gives about .8 iPad Pro full charge. So works fine for trips where you can charge this thing in between.

That's my desk pad but I do have a leather case with the same texture. But a PU back. case
If you want a real leather case, check nomads website, it's very pricy but looks well made. That's what I'll get down the road
UGreen stuff usually seems to be alright.
I’ve got this cable connecting my MacBook Pro to an Anker Dock and it carries power, display, usb, and Ethernet with no issues.
I’ve loved this HP monitor, it has speakers that are surprisingly good, good ports for everything, and a good display for the price. I got this one and it’s worked like a charm for my daily note taking/doodling. After three months my Apple Pencil is the same as ever, I really don’t notice any wear. I do have the magic keyboard though, so the screen shattering isn’t a huge concern for me. If you plan to do 3D art, I heard Procreate will be adding 3D features for M1 users (Source). If you’ll be making very detailed 3D art, then the 16 GB might prove useful.
The RAM doesn’t really affect the amount of apps you can download for your iPad Pro. If you don’t want to go for the 1 or 2 TB models, you could always connect an external drive or use a cloud service to save photos. And if you use a Mac, you could transfer the files in between the devices to allow for more storage.
If you’re talking about current circumstances, iPadOS hasn’t really allowed complete use of the 16 GB as of now (or at least I believe so), since current apps use the basic 6GB from the old iPad Pro. I’m pretty sure Apple will update this soon, but as of now, there is little benefit besides future proof-ing the device for once more RAM is usable.
If you feel like you would use the storage, I would go for the 1TB model, but otherwise, you should still be good with a 8 GB RAM model.
This is what I use for my PC. Works really well with my 12.9. I’m in the same boat, but leaning towards PC due to gaming, but teetering on the edge about the m1 mini. Right now I’ve got an older desktop that I remotely access using Jump, and it’s great. I recommend it.
The best you're going to get on iPad is Marvel for iOS and Inspr Pro. These are designed for lightweight prototyping and that's about it, but they're still nice to have. I have actually used the Marvel app during user testing studies to display hand drawn prototypes in a digitally interactive way, that way we could rapidly iterate during testing -- it was actually a descent experience and I could see us doing it again.

It works really well for me
I bought this one a few few weeks back, it works for me. I just use it as a stylus to keep the screen free of finger smudges, I don’t draw with it. Dealnews.com had a coupon for it then, so the total was only $10.

Well, "Apple" (the person you talked to) is wrong. Of course you can connect your iPad Pro to a TV or monitor with a HDMI-to-USB-C-adapter. Maybe your adapter is not working. I use this one and it works: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-uni-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B075V68NVR
Lol I don’t think this one is quite as fancy but seems to work well enough. I have the 11” 2018 iPad Pro and this is the case:
That kind of looks like the case I just got off Amazon from ESR. I like this one so far.
Buy a clip and bend the clip out a little so that it's snug
I bought this Pencil case on Amazon for 7€ ! Works perfect and magnet and charge work with the case. See the product here: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B07QXHCYNJ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_72AFGZVMQZ4VM45R1WW8
This if you wanted matte tempered glass. I was gonna try it with mine whenever it comes in.
Speck makes a similar case with a flap. I tried a lot of cases, and my logic was this. None of the cases are going to protect the edges if you drop the 12.9. Get Apple Care.
I use the apple folio case and this sleeve for transport:
https://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-Reflect-MacBook-Sleeve-Dark/dp/B07HYY6J7P

Got this case from Amazon, it doesn’t block the Smart Keyboard. It almost feels like the missing piece!
This one on Amazon is the exact same (I actually bought the Apple one and returned it). My only critique of it is it has a tiny bottom right logo on the front. But seriously, is been amazing after two weeks of use and travel.
I use this one by UTECHSMART got it from Amazon during a lightning deal. It was one of the hubs that everything worked with the iPad. I had issues with some hubs before the ports/audio wasn't working.
This is the one I bought for my 12.9” and it handles it in portrait mode as well as landscape mode. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074J159V5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had another one but when I put my IPP in portrait mode that stand would become unstable but with the one above it has handled it very well.

The Logitech Crayon is the most common alternative that’s mentioned (about double your price range, but about half the price of the Apple Pencil 2). It doesn’t have pressure sensitivity, but does have palm rejection and supports different angles. Charges through Lightning.
The Adonit Note is another alternative closer to your $30 budget (just a bit over). Like the Crayon, it doesn’t have pressure sensitivity, but does have palm rejection. Not sure about different angles. Charges through micro usb.
I’d say the most important feature needed in a stylus is palm recognition. Without it, the experience suffers whether drawing or writing.
If you're interested in gaming, this controller is perfect for travel! Works well with most of my games. Has to be paired via Accessibilty - Switch Controls but works fine once connected.
I'd also recommend a USB-C hub. Since my laptop can't really handle media transfers and photo editing anymore it's been really nice to have the option to use my iPad for those tasks. Here's a cheap and cheerful one from Amazon that works great.
I second this. I haven't used it yet but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'm sure it'll work great, I figured for the price I could try Xirons and then if I find it doesn't work for me I can try paperlikes. I have it saved in an Amazon list so I can order it when it's closer to the time my iPad will get to me. Here's the link if anyone needs it! Xiron Paperlike 11" Screen Protector
Edit: I'll reply to my post with an update on installation and user experience once I get it for anyone who stumbles upon this thread in the future!

It’s a pretty nifty drawing/design tool that a lot of folks are leaving photoshop and illustrator for because it has a more affordable price point. There’s a single fee rather than ongoing monthly/annual subscriptions. They have a desktop and an iPad app version
this would be KING. this goes for even playing https://skribbl.io with friends over Zoom. I want to be able to do anything in Safari and have my video shared (as you mentioned) and have an optional, resizable, relocatable PiP video in the corner for whoever is speaking, spotlighted (or presenting)
Shadow.tech allows you to play PC/Mac games. Especially, if you have STEAM games, many of the games support controllers, and therefore, on iPadOS you can use PS4/Xbox controllers to play all those games. Otherwise, I play Fornite on iPadOS with controller.

You can also find used or new iPads on www.swappa.com (like eBay, but the listings are vetted more closely, so scams are less likely).
You could live stream by opening up a drawing app on the iPad, and using the share your screen feature on your streaming app.
If you want to stream from a laptop or desktop, then you can use either mirroring software for Windows, or airplay for Mac. These allow you to project your iPad screen onto your computer screen, which can be captured by screen sharing features on your live stream software.
There are some free mirroring apps out therefor Windows, but I think Mirroring360 is the most reliable paid app. (https://www.mirroring360.com)
If you want to do serious technical/mathematical writing then nothing is going to come near LaTeX, which there are solid options for. I believe TexPad is quite well regarded.
If you just need a more casual writing environment that has support for TeX style equations, then there are options like Craft Docs that has options for both full equation blocks and inline math as well.
I just got mine this past week and have a cover buddy from Amazon. The reviews are iffy but it’s the only thing I could find that adequately protects the sides. The bottom is still exposed however. I think it’s due to the magic keyboard though and closing it properly.

I first bought a pack of the silicone tips but after a few weeks decided to get a matte screen protector. The silicone nibs have too much stick and not enough slide in my opinion. The matte screen protector makes drawing and everything else feel much more comfortable and less damaging.
Try this one. It’s removable, and magnetic. It works with the pencil and then I can take it off when I don’t want it so I can use the original screen for things like video.

I have this one, works great: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07Y825V4N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_P9556H6Q29MB7RK211PZ idk if it's worth it, it was really cheap on german amazon. It includes a USB-C to USB-C cable. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but I guess that's iPadOS's fault. It's really fast on any other TB device.
I just leave the pencil attached to the iPad & keep the whole thing in a sleeve when carrying it around. Any 13”laptop sleeve will hold an 11” iPad Pro in a case, along with a keyboard & pencil just fine.
This is currently what I have for my ipad. It doesn't have a grainy appearance like paper-like screen protectors.
I have a similar issue with both the Magic Keyboard and my MacBook Pro on the lap desk that I used. I solved it by buying a roll of “grippy” shelf liner (like this). I just cut a rectangle to match the size of the laptop.
I think its a good old keyboard cover sleeve that has shortcuts on it. I think the brand is MOSISO, just look them up followed by your keyboard (usually apple stuff).
Source: brand name on the space bar
I have a sleeve that sticks to my magic keyboard. I leave it in the sleeve when not in use, as I find the pencil comes off too easy when moving it in and out of my bag.
I use this…….

I will forever recommend this.
Matte, tempered glass, pen glides like butter and haven’t noticed any tip wear in the 5 months I’ve been using it
I use mine for drawing, note-taking, and as a second screen. This is the one I bought last year and it’s still kicking: iCarez Anti-Glare Matte Screen... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GZMMYHT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I got this one. It’s cheaper since it’s USB 2.0. The port on the keyboard is charge only so it doesn’t matter the speed. (White) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08N6HFN3J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_B2T1FFDP7QYAW0VDKY8N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
here. There’s not a lot of resistance but still a little more than just glass and doesn’t leave any fingerprint issues. I just use the ESR trifold cause I hate bulky cases cause I still like to draw on my couch sometimes. If I ever draw on a surface the 2 default options are fine for me at least.
Just got this Tomtoc sleeve and love it. It lets me store all my accessories (charger, pencil, hard drive, flash drive, usb hub) in designated areas. And it even has a separate space for my backup case that I use for writing with the pencil. 😊
I might be wrong but annoyingly it’s either a matte screen protector or a glass one! I had a similar decision to make and as I will mainly be using for media I went for the glass one!
In the end I went for this one - Deal: ESR Screen Protector for iPad Pro 12.9 inch (2021/2020/2018) [Face ID Compatible] [Easy Installation Frame] 9H-Hard HD Clear Tempered-Glass Screen Protector for the iPad Pro 12.9-Inch, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07TNJ518Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_CX0M6MA6ZB1DV22CBAB4
I too heard bad things in regards to screen appearance after a while using the paperlite, but if you mainly do notes, it might still be an option. Many more options out there though so hopefully someone more knowledgeable steps in to help you!
I tried out the Magic Keyboard, but only when I'm doing web browsing. Most other times I have either this case or one of these when I'm actually drawing.
Wait for the reviews. The reviewers are definitely gonna try this. Also, people have been using thin cover buddy cases on 2020 iPads which is an attachment on top of the Magic Keyboard. It add some depth to the iPad but it works great. No one had any issues with them in the past. Moreover, these cases add exactly 0.04" (1mm) to the iPad 2020 which exceeds the depth of the 2021 iPad. So, IMO the old Magic Keyboard should just work fine.
I had an ESR for my ipad 6 gen, and when this March I switched to an ipad air 4 I bought another ESR, and now I sold the ipad air 4 and bought an ipad pro 12.9 4th gen, yes I had it for 2 months and I realized that I needed bigger screen and I continue with ESR, I do not have or plan to buy a magic keyboar case, when I need a keyboard and mouse I have a magic keyboard and a magic mouse 2

If you live in the U.S. (not sure if this is sold anywhere else), I’ve found the JETech Glass Screen protectors to be the BEST brand of screen protectors. They are the easiest to go on and don’t attract dust or finger prints. I’ve owned dozens of different brands of glass screen protectors and this company is by far TOP NOTCH quality. They can be found on Amazon.
Hey, I checked on Amazon to buy a case and came across the iPad I preordered in April. I’ve been very impatient since I’ve been wanting an iPad since November but everyone told me to wait and I’m kinda glad I did. Anyways, according to Amazon it’ll come out on May 24. I’m from the USA by the way. I hope this helps anyone. Amazon Link to preorder iPad
I have the 3rd gen ipad pro and I use the zugu case. It covers the front, back, and sides and you are able to attach your pencil to the side magnetically. There is even an insert on the back of it to carry the pencil around. There are magnetic slots that you can prop up the screen at multiple angles.

I love small backpacks. I currently have a 10L but this one is slightly larger which will help for a few extra items on weekend trips.
256gb 2020 on Amazon for $779... id say they might go even lower once the new ones are actually shipping and in hands
I had this on a surface and loved the strap on the back for holding while using on the go, maybe see if there is an ipad case like it
https://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Microsoft-Surface-Rugged-Case/dp/B019TTJHCO
I’m extremely happy with this one. Less than $8, thin and feels good when typing. It fits within the keyboard nicely and doesn’t fall out. It doesn’t leave impressions on the screen- I have Paperlike FYI. Magic Keyboard Silicone Cover
If you want a pencil holder, here’s one on the opposite side it charges if you travel a lot or don’t want your pencil to be charging. This is the case I’m getting also.
There’s cute colors too
I like Whoosh, more so now that it's available in a more economical large bttle.

The magic keyboard is well worth the price tag however.
You’re not missing anything except what you probably already know — it’s apple designed to be pretty and it is.
But! I’ve used both setups, and you’re not missing anything but the lap typing. The full sized keyboard is actually nicer. Get a lap desk - it’s cheaper and works brilliantly
I’ve ordered this from amazon: Link Still waiting for it’s delivery so I can’t review it for you but I’ve watched great YouTube reviews on it.
I bought the Moko Folio Case from Amazon and have used it everyday for months. It has held up well, has strong magnets and the flap sticks to the back when held open. For under $20, I couldn't help but try this out before dropping $80 on the Apple version. I don't regret my decision either.
I have one of these for my 12.9”. Does portrait and landscape without issue and is really adjustable/portable:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X7MY4ZP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use the K380 with my 12.9 Pro when at home. Works great and is readily switchable between my iPad and docked laptop. For travel, I use this inexpensive folding keyboard -
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0799LKCLJ
For pointing device, I use either the Magic Trackpad 2 or one of two mice - Logitech MX Master 3 or MX Anywhere 2 S (smaller).
128gb is what i have. Just be aware that if you are going to work with video at all then more is better also large format multilayer documents can take up quite a bit of space. I supplement with iCloud which mean i can work between my iPad and my mac easily. If you dont buy AppleCare invest in a solid case. I have this one which, while adding some weight, has 6 angles and is great for drawing
Not sure which size, but since you already have Logitech products, what about this:
I’ve been using this one for my 12.9” gen 4. No complaints:
