I know you say daily, but these are still importat for me (Monthly):
Hmm I like the zippyshare's speed but am not sure about that whole downloading-in-a-lot-of-parts thing...
On the other hand have we considered https://degoo.com (100GB free storage) and mediafire.com (15GB)?
It may be stupid! But I got an account with Degoo.com - 10TB for life for $99. It was a special and I jumped on it. Hopefully, they don't go under... but I took a chance and so far - keeping fingers crossed.
>this literally cost me nothing I had nothing to lose.
Except your data. if it is too good to be true then it probably is.
Company name is Degoo for anyone curious. Here is the blurb from the "Top Secret Cloud Storage" product:
>Our top secret feature encrypts your files with a passphrase known only by you, not stored in Degoo, encoded into chunks and spread out to data centers in different countries. 100% NSA proof. For real.
Quick read through the ToS turns up this interesting bit:
>10. Users Providing Computer Processing Power
>10.1 As part of the Services, a User may choose to share storage computer processing power by using peer-to-peer technology. Such computer processing power shared by the User may be used or licensed by Degoo at its discretion. For that purpose, Users sharing computer processing power are regarded as subcontractors to Degoo (“Subcontractor”). The Subcontractor warrants that these Terms and any applicable guidelines shall apply to its shared computer processing power. The Subcontractor further indemnifies Degoo for any and all damages, losses or inconveniences due to circumstances on the Subcontractor’s part.
Depends how deep you wanna go. Maybe get a 4TB standalone and back it up manually every couple of months.
Or just pay for online storage and sack off the NAS.
10TB at Degoo for $99.99 (£90) for 2 years -
4TB at Mega is £17 a month.
No hardware cost and free from theft, fire, disaster etc ..
If it's just file access (photos) and not streaming - I would stay cloud.
100GB free? The only thing I found was https://degoo.com/, but they might suck, they might look into your files, who knows, I myself, use Amazon S3, but that may be a learning curve, just pay 2 bucks (a month) for a 100gb google drive, and use it, then downgrade to free when you don't need it.
We're offering premium accounts to anyone who needs more than 100 GB: https://degoo.com/getpremium It might sound like something few people would need but we're actually climbing the grossing rank on Google Play pretty quickly. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CnWiLtQWgAE3YyX.jpg
If you want free with the least amount of hassle (i.e. not encrypting before uploading or changing settings) Mega is going to be the best option as they have 20GB on their free tier.
If you are okay paying for a service and willing to flip a switch, DeGoo will get you 10 TB for $10/mo and you can turn on zero knowledge.
Hi there. Want 100GB for free and almost 4ever ? Here you go: https://degoo.com.
caveat: max single file size is 500MB and you have to log in periodically (yet to be disclosed, atm. unknown, i think 1x per Month).
You guys love free stuff
https://degoo.com cloud storage.
You can sign up and start with 100 GB and watch 5-30 second ads for 750 MB free storage all on the free account. Most ads are funny or interesting.
They respect privacy. I know this isn't crypto but we just love free stuff and storage costs money. Better to spend that on crypto then storage.
I was just about to ask about present QNAP backup options. I saw Degoo Cloud & ElephantDrive as options; the need will definitely be 5-10TB over time. I know archival Google & Amazon options exist too, but can be pricey on transfer rates. It looks like there's an ElephantDrive app already.
Degoo is your best choice I think. They offer 100GB free cloud storage (and can be increased by watching ads & inviting). Also you can sync between multiple devices and web app. You can also upload music & documents but the main focus is photos. And I guess it fits your requirements.

https://degoo.com 100GB free storage. Alternatively if the dept has a budget then get a cheap digital ocean droplet. They allow 10tb a month transfer and their $20 a month droplet comes with 80G and as it’s a Linux server you don’t have a file size limit
100GB free, though I've always found them shady as fuck and don't know how it works exactly.
Remember, if it's free, you're the product. But that seems to not matter so whatever.
From their privacy policy (https://degoo.com/privacy)
>4.3 Degoo is currently using Google Cloud Storage and Amazon Web Services to host the Services and to store personal data

Degoo backup offers 100GB for free plus 500GB if you send referral links to random emails. You can backup a whole drive or select folders/files and then recover them later. For a free service, I think it’s great!
Edit: They have apps for iOS and Android, links here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/100-gb-degoo-online-storage/id1154082727?mt=8 https://degoo.com
