An alternative is to share an automation like Drafts 5 or Workflow (both free though D5 has a subscription option). Both have actions in their publicly available action libraries for creating tasks and projects in Things 3.
The one I use in Drafts 5 — and you can install and use it without a subscription — is Send to Things. The Drafts Community forum has several threads connecting to Things.
