You could use Dropsync to synchronize the save folder to DropBox.
And create a Symbolic Link on Windows. So you could simulate the save folder is in both locations (Dropbox and Game required path).
Dropsync has a tasker plugin, or you can set it up to update every certain minutes or when it detects change.
I use this combo to have some work files located on a server in my phone all the time. But I'm sure you could make it work for this.
Dropsync for Dropbox or Autosync for Google Drive both work well if you don't mind cloud integration as a middle step.
Cheetah Sync if you're only on your home wifi.
I think Dropsync could be what you're looking for. Haven't tried it myself though, so let us know how it goes for you.
Does it have to be backed up to Google+?
I've been using Dropbox and Dropsync to do that, and a few variations of that for a few of my devices for a while.
For my tablet or other devices that are limited in storage, Dropsync is set to do a "Upload then delete" sync, where it uploads any files (in this case images) from a specified folder on the phone to a specified folder in my Dropbox account, and then deletes the file from my device.
For my phone where I have more storage, I have it do an "Upload only" sync, where it uploads to Dropbox but keeps the file on my phone. Deleting the file later from my phone will not delete it from the Dropbox.
I've rooted my nook and installed Dropsync. When I get a new book from what ever source, I just upload it to my nook folder on my dropbox account and next time my nook syncs, it gets automatically loaded on to my reader.
I've found that employing "favorites" on Dropbox alone works fine for my own personal needs (maximizing data updates while minimizing space consumption), but if you needed more functionality I've heard positive murmurs about employing the andriod app Dropsync with Dropbox:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync
I'm pretty sure most Android emulators have their own folders for save file, so you can use apps like Dropsync to sync the save folder in your Android with a specific folder in your Dropbox.
I personally use Dropsync:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync&hl=en
I've tried a number of other ones, including Datasync. And either I'm retarded or the interfaces just don't make sense on many of them. Dropsync was the easiest for me to set up and does exactly what I need.
The pro key lets you set up multiple folders, instant uploads and whatnot.
This is Dropbox only, however, so Google Drive is out if you go with it.
Good luck!
That's a post I made in another sub about Android emulation.
As far as ROMs, I don't think that talk is allow around here, you'll have to find a different source for them.
All of those emulators allow for saved games, but I haven't found many that sync saves to dropbox natively. I use something called dropsync to do all of my syncing manually:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync
Good luck!
I don't think Dropbox actually syncs on the Android end, just provides access from there to the cloud version.
However, the Dropsync app plugs that gap - it's designed to work with Dropbox to achieve a full sync. I used it briefly, but never seriously, so I can't comment on how well it works.
I imagine this can be done in numerous ways, but the best solution I can think of is: using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync&hl=nl_NL this application lets you sync dropbox files the sameway as it works on a desktop.
then you simply let it sync to the savegame folder of your emulator of choice on your android device and that should work.
Nope. Camera Upload only does screenshots and pics shot with the camera.
BUT, for everything else, I use Dropsync, which can be used for what you want.
Dropsync might be a solution for it. You need a Dropbox account though, and you have a limited storage capacity as it's cloud based.
Dropsync does this with a Dropbox account. I'm using it to sync my KeePass database file between my phone, tablet, and PCs.
You'll need the pro version to get high end functionality though. The free one only lets you sync one folder, and won't sync files larger than 5MB.
Edit: I should add that I was iffy about using a third-party Dropbox syncing app. When I linked it to my account, it showed up as an app registered with Dropbox which kind of eased that notion.
I used syncthing and I also used another one for Dropbox (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync)
I know you're on apple. Maybe software like this exists for Apple. Search 'Dropbox sync' in the app store.
Best thing I can suggest, which is what I use, is download Dropsync and set it up to "upload only" or "Two way sync" then go in tasker and create a profile that at whatever time opens Dropsync, syncs, then quits it. I used it for honestly over a year between my Nexus 4 and then the 5 without any hiccups.
Second suggestion- download Carousel and have it auto-upload. From my experience on my Nexus 5 and now 6 running Kitkat and Lollipop (respectively) I've had 0 known battery drain from doing it like this which is why I dropped the tasker/ manual sync combo.
If this is for backup purposes, then just use FolderSync to sync the files with one of your systems at home.
I have it set up to automatically start this process when I connect to my Wi-Fi network for the first time that day, AND plug in my phone.
This way, you stay in control, and don't have to rely on a 3rd party service for personal pictures.
FolderSync also supports DropBox and other cloud services, so you could have it watch your DCIM folder if you do want instantaneous syncing.
DropSync is another great tool which can do this.
I will add Dropsync to the Dropbox recommendation. It's an app that enables the syncing of folders and offline storage for your phone (so that it works like the desktop version).
It's just photos, same as the Autobackup on your Dropbox. I'm not sure but I think Dropsync can backup arbitrary folders.
I've had good experience with these:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=John+emulators
I use DropSync to sync saves and ROMs between devices (including my computer) so I can pickup where I left off when switching from one device to another.
I had the same issue..Dropbox official app uploads all screenshots image downloads etc to Camera Upload.. To add insult to the injury, it then renames these files as with the date and time of upload. So now we have two sets of files/images; same but with different names.
Earlier I used to to use Drop Sync (Play Store Link) free app on my android, but it supports only Dropbox. Later I found Folder Sync, (free and paid) as it supports many cloud services. Just create a pair of online and Offline folder, define some rules and voila!!
DropBox (app/Google Play Store) is another cloud service that I save Tasker backups to...then you can download the free Dropbox sync app and it will sync files in a folder you specify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync Hope that helps...
I know it's not for everybody, since it takes a bit of work to get it set up, but I use a program called DropSync to backup my game saves:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync
You just set up a synced folder on both of your devices, and any time you save your game it will upload it to Dropbox. Or you can have it sync at a certain interval.
They also make one for Google Drive if you'd rather use it instead of Dropbox.
I use Google+ autobackup, as well as Dropbox via Dropsync.
I like Google+ because of the auto-awesome features.
Dropsync is a sweet app for syncing dropbox folders like what the Desktop dropbox app does (ie. on Windows)
Pro key enables some features that make the app more useful. But try the free app if you're not sure you'll like it
Something similar to DropSync but for Google Drive? I don't think this exists yet, though i would love to proven wrong.
In the meantime, you can pin files to make them available offline from within the Drive app. You can also use Solid Explorer to access your Drive with a much more elegant & functional interface than the Drive app. Unfortunately it is not at all convenient to access your pinned/offline Drive files using Solid Explorer.
I gotta say, I winced when I read that. As an IT guy, it sounds to me like the question you are asking is "if i put all this important and unique data on here, will it be safe?"
The answer is always no. If you are not backing up those pictures and other stuff that you would miss when your phone or SD card gets broken/corrupted/stolen/dropped in toilet/eaten by a grue, then you are going to have a bad time eventually.
hint: dropsync and dropbox, or setup your own cloud based backup.
SD flash is not to be considered "reliable" the way your question wants it to be.
I have a folder in my Dropbox account called "Android File Sync" that I keep synced with my phone and tablet using Dropsync (Android app that works the same way Dropbox works on your computer).
I copy & paste any songs (or other files) that I want on my phone/tablet, Dropbox uploads it rather quickly, my device automatically detects the change and starts downloading the file, and then I delete the file from the dropbox folder on my computer or Android device so the files aren't sitting there stealing my valuable dropbox space.
It's worked more seemlessly than I could have hoped for.
EDIT: I actually use Google Music on my Android devices, but I manage my music and create playlists in other programs on my computer that aren't picked up by Google Music. I have Dropsync also set to automatically download any updated playlist from my computer into the "Music" folder of my device. This too works beautifully.
I use dropsync to automatically sync folders to dropbox from my tablet for backups. It was more capable than the official android app when I got it.
