I assume you are using eclipse, so install egit to help assist with the whole git process; http://www.eclipse.org/egit/ you can install egit in eclipse from the eclipse marketplace too.
There is a git plugin for Eclipse called Egit. If that's installed you can simply import git repos (File -> import -> Git -> Projects from Git) or create a new bare git repo (File -> new -> Git -> Git Repository)
It's been years since I've used eclipse regularly, but you may check out EGit, which is a GUI that lets you manage the git repo from within the Eclipse IDE. I'm not sure if this is the latest and greatest way to do this within Eclipse, fyi. Otherwise you can still manage your project from the command line as well.
