I certainly hope you're not against the dumbing down of things like cars and heavy machinery!
Education isn't the same as consumer products. Ease of use is fundamental to the success of a product. An easier to use computer, just like an easier to use car or television, is an inherently improved product for it. A school with a passing grade of 25% isn't a better school.

I'd appreciate it if you showed me any successful company that didn't make their new stuff seem lightyears ahead of their old stuff. I want to know how much money they make with that approach. Come on, man.
Facetime... useful? No. Front facing camera? yes. Is facetime fun? yes. Skype using facetime technology... much better
but the facetime Mac plug in does add some versatility to the app.... get the beta here http://www.apple.com/mac/facetime/
I was surprised to notice that Facetime is also $0.99. It just seems like something that should be built into the Mac's free iChat chat program, and I guess I kinda assumed that it would be free in the next version of OS X.
